There were so many people working and shopping that were nice and offering help. The produce was nice like always. I'll be a steady customer. The motorized cart gave me a few problems here and there buy the people made up for it. They have a lot of stuff that stores like foodarama and fiesta don't have. The amount of carts available was nice too. They make it real convenient for the disabled and that's what I've been looking for. Now I can stop wasting so much money using favor to get my groceries. read more

I've been coming to this Kroger for Years. i always see managers walking around here. They are always on the ball here. The cashiers are nice and friendly. Can't get that at too many places. It's always busy here. I love the produce and bakery here. I'm always on the lookout for "Manager's special" It's just items that expire in two days. I came here the day before Easter for Crawfish. Their Competitor (HEB) was soldout due to supply and demand. Kroger saved the day for me and my family that weekend. Talk about Grateful. read more

Six years ago this Kroger was dirty with rude staff and long checkout lines. It has gone steadily downhill since then. If an item is "on sale" it is out of stock. The rude and sliw checkers have been replaced by YOU checking and bagging your own groceries. Recently a clerk rang up a small bag of cat food for double the actual price and then told me "I can't refund your money, you need to talk to the manager". Two armed guards stood nearby, likely because many of the customers appear to be on parole. A mile away is the wonderful Beldon grocery store. Friendly and helpful staff. If two people are in line to check out, a new line is opened. The best meat, fish and produce in Meyerland. read more

Worst Kroger ever! So this one in particular is over crowded and short staffed. There were children running all over the place. On top of this, a customer was drinking in the store ( a medium size glass filled with what appeared to be beer) and he was inebriate. He then was involved in an altercation with management and was removed from the store. Stay away! read more

Kroger - Grocery Near Me - Houston, Texas

Good selection of produce and organic items, however no parking spots for new+expectant mothers like most other Krogers

A great neighborhood kroger! Been going here for years. They keep up with they're groceries, it's rarely as packed as the Walmart down the street gets. Decent wine selection, nobody beats HEB though, what can I say?! read more

While bigger and in theory "nicer" than my neighborhood Kroger, I wasn't really too impressed with the place. If you want your Jewish foods, they've got them... but they aren't cheap. If you are going for normal groceries, it's an alright place to shop, but nothing special. The service was good, a guy even ran after me after forgetting to put a bag in my cart after paying. I won't go out of my way to go again, but I'm glad to experience a different Kroger for a change. read more

This is a decent neighborhood grocery store, though I've certainly experienced better and personally prefer to make the drive to HEB located at Buffalo Speedway/Bissonnet when I'm not strapped for time. The grocery store itself is open 24 hours, which is awesome if you need to shop during non-standard hours, but I've never had the need to shop later than say, 8 p.m., so I can't speak to how this location operates after dark (though I would imagine it sees a good amount of sketchy patrons since the neighborhood is in a bit of a transition period). Produce is decent and fresh, but the shelf life isn't terribly long. Most produce items should probably be consumed within about 5-7 days. This includes fruits like apples, oranges, lemons etc., which tend to have a longer shelf life than, say, berries and bananas. Produce prices are on the more expensive side here than at HEB and Trader Joe's, though the selection is fairly large. The produce is priced about the same as Randall's across the street, but it just depends what is on sale at the time. They have a good natural foods selection, albeit small, but I like that these items have their own area so you can locate them all in one place. The wine and beer selection is decent too. I think the wine selection is better than Randall's, but Randall's has the better beer selection. Neither the beer or wine section is as good as HEB's, and I don't believe either store offers samples like HEB and TJ's. The meats/poultry/fish selection is alright, though their filet mignon selection is lacking. All they seem to offer in that category are the small bacon-wrapped filets ($5 each or sometimes on sale 2 for $7) or the very expensive Nolan Ryan beef filets (also small and around $20-30). There's really nothing in the $10-20 range. In my opinion, Trader Joe's has the best filet mignon selection around. HEB does carry some, but mostly expensive grass-fed varieties. I recently asked the butcher at Randall's if they carried filet mignon, and he actually laughed at my question. Not sure why they are so difficult to come by around here... The fish selection is pretty good, and that's where I spend a lot of money here. Again, not as good as HEB or TJ's but definitely better than Randall's. Rainbow trout and the red snapper are among my favorites, and occasionally they will have a good deal on large gulf shrimp. The tuna steaks are decent but are not ahi tuna, and I think the frozen vacuum-sealed tuna steaks are probably a better value. You can always find plenty of local catfish, and occasionally cod. Alaskan salmon is okay too, but not the best, and I'd skip it here if you can. No matter what time I come here (any time between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.), the store is completely packed! I can't say the same for the aforementioned Randall's, so I guess Kroger is doing something right in comparison. However, management could hire a couple more cashiers and baggers, as the lines are always long and there are always plenty of unused registers. read more

I have now made this my main grocery store. I can always find what I need & I love their All Natural Food selection area. The produce department are fresh & reasonably priced. The store is always clean & it's very easy to find help or service. Checking out is always quick. I have not had the disappointing opportunity to wait in terribly long lines like you would at Walmart. I love their bakery department. For functions if we are not using a specific cake place, we get our cakes from this location. The cakes are always good, moist, & decorated to our liking. read more

I'm leery of their meat section because of all the rattling noises the fridges make, but overall is a decent store.

Today I went to the Kroger's at S. Post Oak and W. Bellfort. Not 1 employee had on protective gear nor adhered to the 6' rule. I confronted the manager who also had no gloves nor mask and told him why I was going to shop elsewhere. his only response was to say "That is your choice." I want everyone who uses Kroger to do what I did and write a letter to corporate. This is an appalling lack of concern for the employees and customers. read more

I had to leave a review, which I don't often do, because of the misleading claims that this place is dangerous. I've gone here for over 6 months now and have not had an unpleasant experience or issues with crime or homelessness. Store is well stocked, lines are never long, and selection and prices are good. If you are reading these bad, questionable reviews, I suggest giving this Kroger a chance and make up your own mind. read more

Unsafe and Dirty. Service at the deli can be a horrible experience. Kroger not providing hero pay for workers after record breaking profits-deplorable! Too many other choices. read more

This place has quality groceries for a quality price. The store itself is old and outdated, and always messy. It stays packed, because their prices cannot be beat, but it needs a good scrubbing. We were walking down an isle, and saw a half eaten rotisserie chicken on the shelf. That is probably why in the evenings they close all but one entrance/exit. Bottom line, it is way better than the Randall's across the way, but I think the Foodarama down the street is similar in price, and the store is much cleaner than this place. read more

plenty of room for improvement. produce is questionable sometimes. i do love the clearance meat section if youre going to cook it that day. could be way cleaner. carts are everywhere. birds everywhere. read more

I appreciate the safety concerns employees like the ones here must face each day. This store though seems unsafe. I've seen employees here not wearing masks correctly. Also been rudely snapped at by a manager because I wanted to redeem a 5$ coupon that had a promo code but no bar code. She refused to help me. Policy is policy if they won't take their own coupons, but is it necessary to snap at me? I say go to HEB. read more

While feeling a bagel crave, it was suggested that this is a spot on place to get some good authentic bagels. As far as the bagels, my tummy is very pleased. However, for the other groceries I wanted to grab while I was there, I was unable to because the selection just wasn't there. This location has a kosher bakery and a good variety of kosher foods. The bagels I purchased were fresh and met the requirements of what makes a good bagel: crisp outside with a soft yet firm chewy inside. The cinnamon raisin bagel is a standout with golden raisins and the subtlety of cinnamon in each bite. I enjoyed the plain, also. The bakery hamburger buns are also a winner. We had to do a bit of searching for the cream cheese. The brand I use is not located with the other brands of cream cheese. We did locate my preferred brand but sizes (ounces) selections were limited. It seems organics are not in high demand here and therefore not sold in the obvious places or in great variety. The store as a whole is clean with a friendly staff and manager. Everything I saw was up to current date freshness. Prices are reasonable here and I saw nothing overpriced. I'd come here again for the bakery and bagels. I just wish they had a bigger variety of some of the other foods I like. That's just my own take on it and doesn't detract from the fact that this store had what I needed and filled my bagel need. Definite win there! read more

I come here when I don't feel like driving all the way out to HEB. They basically have everything HEB would have, but I just prefer HEB because everything is a bit fresher. The one thing they can improve on is their employee's knowledge of where products are located. I've been pointed in several locations for one item by a couple of employees, and I ended up finding the item myself after looking endlessly around the store. They also have reasonable gas prices. This is actually the main reason why I go here. read more

Locally known as the "Kosher Kroger" for it's extra selection of kosher foods. As grocery stores go, it's better than most: very clean, good selection, kroger prices, friendly staff. It's our usual choice over the nearby Randalls, Foodarama, Pantry, and Walmart Neighborhood Market. read more

I walked into Kroger's before 12 and waited in the self check out because it was the only line open. I waited patiently to be check on my ID for about 10 mins and when she walked over, she took my wine and said rudely, it's after twelve and was about to walk away. It was my first time buying wine on a Sunday at night. And it barely passed 12 by 5 mins. I informed her I thought it was after 1, I'm sorry. She then proceeded to tell me "Not on a Sunday" with an attitude. And I immediately walked out, I understand there are laws but I may not know every single laws. She could have informed me but she didn't. I felt that the customer service was lacking. read more

Literally the slowest, unorganized Kroger I've ever been to. Every cart is in the parking lot with none inside to use, while employees are sitting outside smoking cigarettes, gross read more

I hate this Kroger. I only come here for gas, or when I absolutely need something and the HEB is closed due to the May 2015 flood, and the Randalls has gone frightfully downhill. If you successfully navigate the lot snarled by traffic and riddled with loose carts and don't get divebombed by the literally thousands of grackles that swarm this lot every evening, you're greeted by a drab fluorescent and browns interior with the smallest, sorriest produce section I've ever seen in a supermarket of this size. Even the tiny HEB had better produce (and at much nicer prices). Westbury/Meyerland is a large residential (deed-restricted) middle class neighborhood that deserves better than this! My husband likes that they carry some interesting large-format craft beers. Though they don't know how to store them and the bottles often seem warm, they're always mislabeled and they never know the prices at the register, so you can get some great deals! read more

The bathrooms were worse than a seedy truckstop. The while place felt dingy and run down. Prices were bad. Parking lot was bad. Lines were long. Why do people shop here? Masochism? read more

3 stars for a nice staff, but craptastic coupon policy. I shopped here 3x a week before Kroger got rid of double/triple. Now, I have boycotted them. I will not every enter another Kroger while the ban is in place. With that said, the store is very nice and the staff is helpful. read more

Came here on Easter. Terrible idea, but felt like cooking at the last minute. Walked in and was met with the overpowering stench of fish. Not to pleasant. I called and asked if they had any spiral hams left, the man said yeah we only a couple left, so I run up there to find over 20 of them. I had no idea a couple was 20. I'm just going to assume its all to blame on the easter craze, but the stench of that place will keep me from not going back unless I have to. read more

While our experiences at Kroger are usually adequate. We buy our groceries and check out. Seldomly do we ever have an impression with the cashier whether negative or positive, as far as tonight. As we check out my mother realizes the price doesn't match the prices on certain item labels. When she tries to confirm with the cashier (Aisha) she decides to give her an attitude and demands the price is right. Shocked of the change in tone and aggression we called for the supervisor to look over the prices. Lo and behold my mother was right, the price went from $72 to $50. As the price changes Aisha gave my mother the middle finger. The supervisor giggled at this. read more

This is the ghettoest Kroger ever. The produce is always bad, the store is dirty, the parking lot is always full of baskets and the cart people are usually just standing around on their phone, I can never find anything in stock here because everything is in the wrong position so that if they run out of something they just move something else over in its place instead of restocking the proper items, the cashiers are extremely rude especially Fatima, she didn't say a single word to me my whole check out didn't even tell me my total.. just handed my receipt and moved on. I have lived in this area for 2 years and avoid this Kroger at all costs. read more

My go to market and I always find want I'm looking for and I love the gas points, that's a big plus for a store I already love shopping at.

I love Kroger and only shop at Kroger. But this is one of the worst locations and it's the closest to my house. I prefer the one on buffalo speedway but it's a bit far unless I'm already in that area. The staff here is just not very helpful, they are not friendly especially the cashiers, the old manager was awful. I think he finally retired. Spoke to a new manager the other day. Hopefully he can clean this place up and improve the service. It's still better than the Randall's across the street but that's not saying much. We really need better stores in our neighborhood read more

I rather like this store. Kroger brand is good and taste great. I have never had to complain about this store. Way better than HEB.

Typically I like to shop at Kroger. But this specific location disappointed me. The roasted garlic and pickled peppers I bought were both sour and over due. (I'm talking about the stuff you can get in the plastic containers in the open salad bar). I had to throw it right in the trash can when I got home. read more

This is one of the worst Kroger's I've ever been to. It took the cashier 10 minutes to find the correct cigarettes for a woman who was ahead of me in line. Then when the cashier finally gets to me there's no eye contact. It's like she's basically ignoring most of the customers. Beyond the poor customer service, the worst thing is that the pricing is falsely advertised in the store. I tried to meet the "buy six items for lower price " promotion quota to add up to the lower price, but these weren't taken off at the register. Apparently the promotion was over but they still had the old signs up. This store is a nightmare read more

I have been a customer of this Kroger for over 20 years and generally been happy. However, in the past year Kroger has allowed panhandlers to accost customers getting out of their cars. This happened to me multiple times including last Sunday at 8:10 PM. There was no security or manager on duty. I complained to a supervisor working a cash register and all she could do was say sorry. I also tried that night to contact and complain to Kroger using my phone app and the 800 number. The phone app repeatedly has not worked for making comments. The 800 number stopped at 8:00 PM on Sunday. I have called the 800 number, as well as Kroger corporate in Ohio and the Houston regional office since then. I have repeatedly received a message that all customers ambassadors are busy and have then been hung up on. Once I heard the voice of a representative and then was hung up on after only being able to say "hello can you hear me?" I refuse to shop at any store after being accosted in the parking lot. It is outrageous that that they have no way to contact the corporate office to complain. read more

I used to shop at this one before I moved but sometimes visit it if I'm in the area or if the other one is too hard to get to because of traffic. The checkout's usually pretty decent, as are most areas of the store, and the selection's good. The store's generally well kept. Its biggest issue, IMHO, has always been its produce department. They revamped it, but it still needs work. The management has no idea the number of times I've stopped off at the Randall's across the street to get one or two items I needed that the Kroger didn't have. Some items seem to be pretty much solidly absent, others are picked over to death. I'm not looking for obscure Asian vegetables, either--things like cilantro, decent garlic, brussels sprouts, stuff like that. read more

Starting to HATE this Krogers... Service has gone down hill, Cashiers have attitudes and are down right lazy. Not my job to do a price check if your system isn't ringing something up right. I drop prescriptions off to the Pharmacy and some how it ends up in the "do not fill pile". WHY the hell would I drop a Rx off that I dont want filled, it doesn't make sense. And why would you tell me it would be done in 30 minutes to an hour and then put it in some stupid pile. Secondly, upon the second attempt to pick up, I am told Insurance is down and I would have to pay full price and call back in 7 days... get the hell out of here...When she formed her mouth to tell me that crap did she really think I would be on board with that ish? No! Insurance wasn't down when I first dropped my meds off, so NO I will not pay full price BECAUSE I have ins. Fix it and you call insurance. Ugh...So Sick of this Krogers and all their crap. Never any baskets and then all the damn doors are locked through out the day. Damn! get it together. Oh and I will be calling corporate. read more

This location has poor customer service, especially during the night shift. One of the security guards there basically watched me purchase my water in self check out, and as I proceeded out the door he asked for my receipt. I instantly became livid, whilst the other customers freely walk about out of the store. He then calls over the Phoneix police officer on duty, after I stated for him to check the recording for the register. Once I became upset I demanded my refund, prior to getting the refund I showed the police officer my receipt, so he'd know that old "wanna be cop" security guard was picking with me; and the killing part is that I see him there quite often! We've spoke several times. read more

Oh my goodness. I think maybe I came on a crazy off day..but on Saturday the store was PACKED. like I've never seen a store so packed. Check out lines were long and people were everywhere. All the checkers were working very hard to get the customers all rung up as fast as possible. They didn't really have a lot of self check outs (as compared to the buffalo speedway location).it probably wouldn't matter much though when I was there. I had shopped at this location since 2001 and loved it. However the main manager that retired, Mr. Underwood, was the key element to this successful location. Since he left it is gone down hill a lot. Abandoned carts in parking lot preventing parking every time of the day/night, refrigerated items that customers didn't want sits in baskets waiting to be restocked being there for significant amount of time and not cool to the touch, shelves not being restocked or other items shoved in back out of view. The store has twice gone through renovations which has helped with the astatic of the store. Including these two remodels and constant shifting around aisles, which to many to count, I still have no idea where stuff is located. I have offhandedly had conversations with other customers and they to still trying to orient themselves. I sent a request through Kroger website and had someone respond to me. I responded back and said I wanted to speak to someone in corporate office ... no response. Well the straw that broke the camel's back, customers have to have a receipt to return/exchange items even though in the past with your Kroger card they could easily locate the transaction since it was in their database. Not anymore. The MOD said corporate told them they couldn't do that anymore. You know what corporate, your inability to listen to your customers and respond back to them when requested, has been heard. I will take my years of business since 2001 and take myself across the street to Randall's. I already went there signed up with their rewards, which by the way they can use your phone number to pull transactions if you don't have a receipt. I will crawl to a gas station and paying 5 times as much for something before I would drive to a Kroger's. Buhbye read more
