Late night shopping with the people, it's Mother's Day why were they just buying flowers and balloons. Anyway I need dog food and something simple to make for Monday dinner and just like that found the perfect ingredients. They had broccoli on sale and so was the cheese. I chose the pre chopped chicken because the rotisserie in bag was small and dried up. They only had one register open and five people with full baskets, we chose the self check line but it was long as well and system kept glitching. read more

Mother's Day Flower hack. Kroger is one of our go to grocery stores. Sign up on the app for coupons and weekly specials that load onto your card. Like $5 off 5 items or pistachios for $1.99. Love the delicious produce, wild caught fish and selection of cheeses. This Mother's Day my daughters sent me the most beautiful flower arrangement using a simple grocery hack. They ordered the flowers from Kroger via Instacart. The roses and carnations were so beautiful and guess what? They paid grocery store prices and got free delivery. Brilliant!! Thank you, Kroger, for being our family grocery store and more. read more

On sale items don't ring up for the discount price when you get to the check out register. Then cashier don't believe you, so you have to go get the sales sticker and show it to them. This has been happening very frequently. Something needs to be done. It's very frustrating, & the funny thing is that it's only happening @ KROGER'S. read more

I had a frustrating experience at the Kroger store 334 located at 6200 Highway 6 in Missouri City, Texas 77459. I went in to purchase a brand of makeup that I saw on sale online in Kroger's. When I found the product in the store, the sale price was clearly displayed. However, at checkout, it rang up at full price. I mentioned this to an employee at the register, and he told me to take a picture of the sale price and bring it to customer service, which I did. However, when I showed the picture to the customer service representative, Marion, she insisted on going to check the price in the aisle herself, as if my picture wasn't enough proof. I told her, "I have a picture of the product right here--you can clearly see it's on sale." That's when her coworker, Yolanda, chimed in and told her, "If you feel more comfortable, go check," which made me feel like they didn't trust me, as if I was trying to get away with something. At that point, I was upset. It was a small price difference, yet they treated me like I was being dishonest. I asked them to just return the item, but then I decided to call a manager. When Matthew, the manager, arrived, I showed him the picture and explained the situation. Instead of offering a resolution, he said, "We always have to check because you might have taken a picture somewhere else." He followed up with, "I'm not saying you're lying, but that's our policy." At no point did anyone apologize for the inconvenience or acknowledge how frustrating this experience was. To make matters worse, as I was leaving, Yolanda sarcastically said, "Have a blessed day," which felt intentionally rude given the situation. What they fail to realize is that if customers stop coming to the store, Kroger will go out of business--and so will their jobs. But I guess that doesn't matter to some of the rude unprofessional workers. This experience showed me that Kroger's customer service training needs serious improvement. It felt like they were more focused on accusing me of switching prices than actually verifying the proof I provided with my photo. To make matters worse, no one ever offered to resolve the issue or honor the sale price. It no longer feels like customer service matters--it's more about the employees and how they choose to treat people. That experience made it clear that Kroger will not be getting my business again. If this is how they handle simple issues, it's no wonder stores are closing. read more

One employee called Denise is always rude and lazy af when you have a question or a problem with your purchase. Wanted to return an item and she said it was "late" that we'd have to come back the next day. The SECURITY at the store literally told us who to go to and the guy we went to helped us in LESS than a minute. The security isnt even an employee and she knew where to tell us to go. We were able to return the item without a problem. DENISE is always super rude and acts super b*tchy with others. She will argue with you for NO reason too. An employee like that shouldnt even be working. Her lazyness shouldnt be a part of her job. If shes getting payed she at least has to do her damn job right and help instead of saying theres nothing that could help. read more

Kroger fuel point program is a rip-off and HAS been for a long time... they claim 10 cents off a gallon for every $100 spent...but EVERYONE automatically gets 3 cents just for having a card(no purchase necessary)...you are actually just getting 7 cents off a gallon... doesn't seem like much, but multiply by multi-millions of gallons and I see class action written all over it. read more

I have a family where cooking and fresh food is important. I like Kroger's as a grocery chain. However like many stores I sometimes have to go to multiple Kroger's to get what I want. Tonight Kroger's had almost everything I wanted. So next week I will try to find the vegan low calorie noodles. Though U can say this Kroger surprised me because it had Beyond vegan bratwurst sausage on sale. I purchased and served with asparagus. Boy oh boy, it was so good I had to double check to make sure it was vegan. I will be returning to my shop. read more

smells pretty bad throughout. selection is subpar overall. prices are high for quality and there's too many ads for free flu vaccines.

Rotten meat... rotten attitudes. I have been shopping here for the better part of 30 years and they have gone WAY down hill in recent years. As soon as you walk into the meat section, you can smell that something just isn't right... plus the management has no control of there staff. Today I forgot something in the middle of being checked out and I told the checker that I would be right back with another item and she was welcome to serve the next customer. Less than two minutes later I returned to find a sacker returning my items to the shelves.. When I questioned the two about the situation, the accosted with foul language and ghetto attitude and refused to apologize. I will never shop here again, there are several other superior grocery options close by including HEB and Randall's. Steer clear of this place! read more

This Kroger met my specific needs on one trip so I can't complain. While traveling, I forgot my contact lens case and I just tried this place on a whim and they had cases! Because I was on my way to a dinner party I texted the hostess (like I learned from Emily Post) and asked if there were any items she needed. She texted back and told me to bring a specific mozzarella cheese. I asked her if she had a picture of said cheese and she texted it back...at that point, phone in hand, I wandered the store looking for it. It was not with the other Italian cheeses so finally I broke down and asked an employee. He showed me the small display on an endcap that held this specific cheese. With cheese and cases in hand, I proceeded to the self checkout and paid and left. I would say if you're looking for cheese and contact lens cases, this will meet your needs. RACIST ESTABLISHMENT: I have been racially profiled at this store location store #313 by a "loss prevention specialist". I observed him following me throughout the store as I shopped for food items. As I went to the check out line, I saw him yet again in my shopping experience and moved to another empty check out, (as I felt targeted and unsafe). I then see him again, as he moved to the new check out lane I went to in order to feel safe. I took notice and left my cart immediately attempted to leave the store (did not purchase anything) and he had the audacity to stop me at the door. He motioned his hand to block me from leaving and said "hold on ma'am". I asked to speak with a manager as I knew exactly what what's going on, I was being racially profiled, I am a young Black woman while trying to grocery shop. I spoke to the "manager" Josh who lackadaisically approached his job and was unable to provide firm reasoning for the treatment I was being received except "he's just doing his job". Again, neither employee was able to provide reasoning on why I was being addressed. This has been the WORST experience I've had at Kroger so I will be proceeding with legal counsel in this matter. read more

If you don't like working, please don't show up with negativity to destroy others day. I always give the benefit of the doubt, but when you work at the customer service counter, I thought you were supposed to resolve issues, not create them. I went in to return a item that was $16, without a receipt. Young lady, immediately says she can't accept it, still sealed. I asked can't you, identify under my Krogers card, (which has been performed before) for something less cheaper. She bluntly said NO, you must have a receipt. I had to remind myself that I didn't wake up with her, nor was I the cause for her bad attitude that early in the morning. So I requested her manager. 10 secs of waiting, now JODY can accept my return and put on a gift card. Geeeeesh! read more

Oh my goodness. Why is it that EVERY TIME I come here for deli meat, it seems to take ages to receive help?! I cannot lie to you about this, but it is ridiculous! By the time myself or someone else is helped, they take FOREVER slicing meats and cheeses! Not to mention, quite often there are other people in the deli area behind the counter that see the line getting longer and longer, but they keep walking. It's amazing. If I were to go to HEB, this wouldn't happen. Kroger needs to look at their competition to see why they receive more customers than them. They have a deli kiosk near the deli to place an order for whichever cold cuts sliced and it'll be ready by the time you are done shopping, but I've heard from other customer complaints that it's never ready. Also, we went to the healthy foods section and a glass door was completely shattered. The glass was still in tact, but if you were to need something that is located behind that door, you could end up with shards of glass on or in you. There weren't any cones for caution up or anything. The fruit and vegetables are hit or miss here. The packed veggies in bags are never re-stocked during the day, which adds to my frustration with this grocery store. Be sure to properly check the fruit and vegetables they have out on tables as it can already be decomposing. read more

Kroger - Grocery Near Me - Houston, Texas

It's crazy that I never knew about this particular Kroger. I have been living near here for about 6 years and have always been heading to the really ghetto kroger off cambridge, or the slightly better location off main, or when I'm feeling fancy the one off 59. But recently, on a trip to Best Buy and Target, I need to pick up groceries too from Kroger and found that there was one just down the street. I was skeptical, because this is near my most hated Wal-Mart. But this Kroger is really nice! It's huge and has a lot of options in the fresh seafood and meats section. read more

This is my "home" Kroger. I certainly miss "hot mom Kroger" on West Gray; as well as the Kroger on Buffalo Speedway, but this Kroger is serviceable and the prices are infinitely better than the Randall's across South Post Oak. No, it's not as clean as the Kroger's in 'nicer' parts of town and no it doesn't hold up to comparison with most H-E-B's, but the staff is relatively friendly and I rarely run into any issues. Pros: - Reasonably solid prices - Typically have what I'm looking for - Decent selection of "healthy" products - Points for reduced Kroger gas prices come in handy Special shout out to the "beer" guy as I always used to make a separate trip to H-E-B (further away) to get beer, but they've greatly enhanced in the beer selection over the last year or so. (If only he'd calm down with the marzens this time of year. Ha!) Cons: - Produce and meat selection are just "okay" compared to H-E-B - Often have to bag your own groceries - Sometimes have to wait an inordinate amount of time for a register - Sometimes have to wait forever for self-checkout person to acknowledge you and come scan that you're 21+ to buy booze read more

Worst service all the way and racist. We were in line behind someone who was also waiting at the pharmacy. And the lady with box braids and she was also black she greeted and gave service first to a white lady who came after us. That's soo unfair and embarrassing for her to be treating people like that. Us customers need a better service at the pharmacy. Or hire people who really want a job or to work. read more

This is my "home" grocery store. I visit Randall's about twice a month, foodarama about once every 3 mos. I have my route. I begin in shelved foods then work my way to produce, dairy, meats and frozen. It should be frozen then meats. :) I need to modify my route. Frozen to cold. I find everything thing I need. I am loyal to the kroger brand. Not everything, but a lot of the items I purchase are kroger. (As well as I buy the walmart brand.) Kroger will be phasing out plastic bags. Got my sacks but I often forget at home as I wash them after every use. I prefer self checkout. For me, less wait time. I have my favorite checkers and checkers at self checkout. read more

Mr. Ron: Please save the day: I've shopped this Kroger since it's inception. Never have I encountered such a Rude misunderstanding of the concept "Customer Service" as was handled by Asst Mngr Antonio yesterday at 2:50. 3 registers needed "attention" at the same time. The paper was being changed out as quickly as possible by the attending gentleman. NOT Antonio. A Manager's many job descriptions include trouble shooting. Whatever fire Antonio was off to put out, the extra 20 seconds necessary to "engage politely" with a loyal customer and to free up the extra registers were apparently too tall an order for this employee. I think you must have been scraping the bottom of the barrel when this man was hired. read more

Used to be well managed neat and a safe place to shop. This store is steadily going down in appearance and maintenance. This Kroger had good deals on produce including $1 bag of produce that are ripe and need to be eaten in the next couple of days. The staff is friendly and helpful. However, it's a bit dirty compared to others. There's trash in the parking lot and near front entrance and there was what I hope was spilled soda near the shopping karts. The floor is slick when wet and someone could easily slip. I saw 3 employees watch me take a picture and not even ask about it. I pointed it out, shopped, and realized it was still there when leaving. TLDR: Ok deals, friendly staff but kind of dirty read more

On this past week, I went into this store with my 12 year granddaughter. I purchased a case of alcoholic seltzer. My driver's license was scanned and approved. I had the best experience at the Kroger Pharmacy today. I just wanted to recognize Luz Medrano (unsure if I am getting the last name right, but Luz I am sure of). She went above and beyond for me today. She filled my order quickly. When I asked her if they took the Good RX she said they did. She asked if I was enrolled. I was not. I had to get to work so I told her that the price was fine. Then she said hang on one minute. She came back and offered me a coupon cutting my $39 bill to $19. What a blessing! I only gave this review a two star because I love the staff but the store itself is under stocked and chaotic. It's also not the safest place. Parking lot constantly has homeless begging for money and some are aggressive. Many are issues with people getting bags stolen. I'm afraid to do the clicklist because they are always out of namebrand items. I use to love that store. I've shopped there for over 20 years. The last 2 years I have had to drive to Buffalo Speedway which is miles away unless I need only need one or two things. Management has changed multiple times. They just can't get it right. I wish that they brought back Mr. Underwood who managed it for years. It was wonderful when he ran the store :( read more

Dude, I can't believe all the 3 and below star reviews I'm seeing for this place. I come here very often, and while it's not a 5 star hotel or a grocery store for the richest people in Houston, it definitely has what I need, I've never had a bad experience with the staff, or seen it as filthy as anybody describes it. Yes, to me the HEB on buffalo speedway is "better", but that place is ALWAYS packed, BAD. This place is usually pretty full too, but I don't have to make laps in the parking lot to find parking. Everything is fairly priced, plus they have a solid beer and wine selection, and they have sushi chefs making sushi during the day. Being a Kroger plus customer gives you sweet discounts, especially on gas. Not sure where all the hate is coming from. read more

Well, I'm not usually a fan of most grocery stores. I'm what some might call a yuppie, but I care about what I eat a great deal, and prefer organic and health foods. I frequently buy ingredients for my recipes that make my husband roll his eyes. With that caveat, I approached this Kroger's with some trepidation. It's the closest grocery store to me, so I wanted to really love it. And for some things it's fine. They do have some organic produce that doesn't look bad, and I really appreciate that. I can get beer here, and seltzer. They don't carry many non-toxic cleaning products, but sadly most people don't care much about the safety of what they clean with. The baked goods actually looked really tasty! I love that they sell two-slices of cake in boxes labeled "cake for two". It's a clean, neat store- not an unpleasant place to be considering it's got the ambiance of a typical jumbo chain grocery. I'll use this as an "I'm out of X, let me run to the nearest store" type place, but not the store I'll do most of my shopping. It's just not fun, it's a utilitarian place where I genuinely get the impression the organic stock is just for profit and not because anyone particularly cares. read more

The lady turns to me and says "I don't think this guy knows any English". I told the lady that was very offensive and she replied that I'm the offensive one. With more check-ins here than anywhere else, it's not surprising that this is my neighborhood grocery store. Not many people I know are really excited about grocery shopping, but a persons gotta eat right? While I have been known to stray just to shake things up or looking for lower prices, this is my go to store for regular shopping. The pros: convenient, has what I need, Kroger card, cheap gas prices, fairly clean, better than going to a walmart, has a redox outside, baked goods are really good, deli is good too. The cons: can get a little ghetto at night. I've heard the employees talking crazy to each other and well, I just didn't find it appropriate. One employee was complaining one night about how she didn't have much help, and I mean I get it that work can sometimes be stressful, but don't go around unleashing your problems at the customers! Also, their produce could use better merchandise. read more

PHARMACY IS THE WORST I'VE EVER DEALT WITH. 2 days ago I called and asked them to get my prescription ready. They said it would be ready in 2 hours. I told her I would pick it up the next day after work, which was yesterday. Yesterday, I went in to pick it up, but there was nothing ready for me. I explained to the man that I called it in yesterday and I drove a very long way to get it. First he said it was too soon, then he said I needed a new prescription, then he said he found it on file there but it would take 45 mins to get ready but I could wait. Since I drove a very long way and the weather is unstable right now, I decided to wait. I returned an hour later only for him to tell me they were out of stock and would have to be ordered. WHY didn't he tell me that to begin with? He kept repeating that there was only 2 of them there. I'm a nurse. I NEVER TELL MY PATIENTS THAT WE ARE SHORT HANDED!!!!!!! read more
