This was the first time I had been in this Kroger because the store close to me, Park Forest and Eldorado, closed down. I was not particularly impressed with the store itself. It was more recently opened than the other store, but didn't look in better shape. I couldn't find things and really had to search for someone to help me. The checker was very nice...I recognized her from the other store. The paper bags are crap. I do not use plastic and I normally use paper for my recycle. The bags didn't even hold together to get my groceries in the car much less the house. read more

I love this store , especially the Deli and Produce , the people are extra friendly. I have been coming here since they opened and I like the customer service , the low prices are the best any where. The Managers are always helpful when i have a problem. Over all this store is my go to, for everything I need, including clothes. I have to give a huge shoutout to Maggie in the bakery at Kroger Marketplace! I originally tried to order a custom cake from H-E-B, but they weren't able to accommodate the order based on their timing/availability. I called Kroger, and they were able to help me out, so I placed the order with them instead. When I arrived to pick it up today, there had been a mix-up and my Friday order had accidentally been grouped with the Saturday orders, so the cake hadn't been made yet. Obviously not ideal -- but this is where the customer service deserves 5 stars. Maggie, who was overseeing the bakery, immediately jumped in, dropped what she was doing, and made my boyfriend's custom birthday cake right then and there. Thirty minutes later, I had the cutest cake, and it turned out even better than I expected! Mistakes happen, but how someone handles them makes all the difference. Maggie absolutely saved the day and went above and beyond to make sure I left happy. I couldn't be more appreciative. Kroger, you have a great one in Maggie! read more

In the past, I used to go to the old Krogers on Eldorado/Lake Forest, but for whatever reason, they close that one...started going to this Super Krogers on Custer instead, as I do believe in giving business to companies that are pro-union (well, so I've been told lol). I will say its clean, well organized, reasonable prices, however, the employees seem pretty laissez faire, or in their own world most times...then one of their employees accosted me about going too fast around them while putting carts away, and yelled "you need to slow the hell down." I was almost gonna drag this conversation over to the manager, but didn't have the time (really wish I had though). I may have been going a little fast, but it was the approach/delivery that was jaw-dropping. As a former worker in retail/restaurant, I would never have approached a customer that rough, and I really didn't appreciate it. I certainly would not treat an employee like that as a customer. Needless to say, I'll stick with Tom Thumb and HEB going forward. read more

This store is in rough shape and not family-friendly. No changing tables for babies in the bathrooms, womens bathroom consistently out of order, handles missing from the coolers, busted shopping carts. Theres a brand new HEB across the street. I spend $200-$300 / week at this store and I'm officially switching to HEB after the response I received from their customer service. "We're sorry the condition of the store doesn't meet YOUR standards." lol buddy, I'm shocked they meet your standards! Adios. Lost another one to a new HEB. All I was asking for was to fix the broken crap in your store. To add a changing table is ~$500 (aka what I spend on a week and half of groceries at this place). read more

I shop here at least three times a week and every time I leave I say never again. Price tags are always wrong. Nearly every single time for the last 6 months of shopping there I have been overcharged. They forget to pull their sale signs...I have to take my receipt and go to the service desk to get a refund. I have been shopping this location for over 4 years. I used to love this store. It seems since HEB opened, this Kroger has gone downhill in a hurry! I shop here on a weekly/bi weekly basis and but the same products every week. But since HEB opened, each week the store is out of certain items I buy! Each week it is something different, which forces me to Krogers in Allen. Today the meat dept looked like there is a shortage of cows! I waited forever to get my order when there were only a couple of cars waiting. The guy that brought my order was very unfriendly. Kroger Pick-Up placed for groceries on Nov 27th, 2021, to pick up at 6:00 or so. Honestly, There was never a positive experience with "fresh food and Fruits/veggies" that they "pick up for us". They never cared to pick up "fresh" food, instead carelessly picked up rotten food with fungus on it. I am beyond shocked if they like us to consume unhealthy fungus stuck rotten food? Do they not care about customers? Do they not care about health and healthy food? Sample picture of grapes that they picked up for us and delivered thru "kroger pick up". Only reason I give it one star is because they have lots of food and options. Reason for this review is management and employees. Long lines in the deli, meat department and check out lines. Most the time I have to bag my own groceries and end up missing things that I paid for. No managers around to direct employees where to go when lines are 30 mins to just check out. Seems there are more employees in the self checkout lines then any other lines. I honestly hate going to this Kroger and that's why I only go like 2 or 3 times a year. This is about the snow fox sushi. I got the salmon nigiri because that's my favorite. I rushed home to enjoy them but only the first one was delicious. The other ones all had issues. The first one tasted fine. The second one was a little chewy. The 3rd one was so chewy that I couldn't chew it at all. Raw salmon is not supposed to taste like this. I bit half of the 4th one and got poked in the mouth. Found 2 bones. At this point I've kind of lost my appetite. I no longer want to eat the remaining 1 and a half. Also, on another note, when I was there picking out my sushi, the lady working at the sushi counter kept touching my toddler daughters face and said she's cute. I mean yeah thanks for the admiration but could you not touch her face? After the checker put my groceries in bags he started to check out the next customer and I Had to put my groceries in my cart myself. I didn't know Kroger was paying me to do that. CHECKOUT NIGHTMARE. I've been a fan of this Kroger for years and spent a bundle. Changes were made in the past two weeks or so and it now takes longer to go through self checkout than it does to go through international security at a busy airport. Today I bought 17 items...had to pause SIX times even though I was doing everything right ("be sure to put the item in the bag...attendant on the way"), needed the attendant to override FOUR times, then override AGAIN when I wanted to pay. Same thing a couple days ago. Kroger, what the heck are you thinking? You have just made it super easy to break up with you. You've made the shopping experience consistently difficult and frustrating when the neighbor across the street is welcoming your longtime customers, including my family, with open arms. Maybe I'll come back after a month or so and see if you've fixed things, if you haven't lost me for good. read more

My child works here. Half the time his paycheck is cut short (not paid for hours worked) and a couple of times he didn't get a paycheck at all. When he asks about it, management claims they don't have down that he worked. So, Kroger, you allow your employees to be taken advantage of and work for free? Who's getting my son's paycheck? This is a hard review to write because it's directed at the employees working the deli counter not the store. Today, July 4, 2023 I wanted to pick up some cold cuts which I often do at that store. This review is really directed at anytime I visit this Kroeger actually. I ordered three things today, boarhead deluxe ham, salami and london broil roast beef. The lady waited on me but the old man cut my ham that I told the lady to shave. He didn' shave it and when he gave it to me I told him it has to be shaved. Well he took it back and gave me to same ham back but tour into pieces and gave it back to me. It too forever for the lady to get the salami and although she wasn't rude using words, her body language and looks were disgraceful. This is actually typical of those two everytime I go there. I tried ordering online for pickup for the 1st time this morning. I couldn't find smokey turkey drums on the website or app. I called the store. The automated service transfered me to the meat section. Nobody answered. Was transferred to the front desk. The woman who answered was incredibly rude and cut me off. She transferred me back to the meat section. Again, no answer. I hung up and cancelled my $100.00 pickup order. I reordered with HEB across the street (they had smoked turkey drums on their page).I didn't want to, but I was forced to. I have been buying groceries and using the pharmacy here for over 10 yrs. There has certainly been turnover within the pharmacy, hence the reason for my review. I called pharmacy last Thursday to inquire on a prescription I was waiting on, which I was told it was on order and I could pick it up the following day which was Friday. We showed up to pick up medication on Saturday and was told that it wasn't ready due to a prior authorization being required from doctor. Then why tell me to come pick something up if it's not going to be ready is my first issue. So, on Monday morning I called again and was told they had faxed the request to my doctor three times. I asked them to call or follow up and they informed me that I needed to do that so I did. I contacted Doctor's office and the nurse checked and told me that they haven't received anything from Kroger regarding this prescription. So, I called Kroger back WITH the nurse on the line and also the pharmacist Nguyen Le. When nurse informed her that they haven't received anything and asked her to confirm the phone number they faxed it to, Nguyen read back MY cell phone which is not the correct fax number. So in that moment both me and the nurse heard it revealed that the reason they hadn't received the request is because it was being sent to the wrong number. Nurse asked Nguyen for the key code so she could get the PA right away and was told she would be resending it over in 5-10 min and confirmed the correct fax number. So, we all hung up. I followed back up with the pharmacy after that call to see where we were at and asked them to please make sure they are sending to the correct place so this doesn't happen again as this created a 3 day delay from my medication I'm supposed to be taking. Nguyen was defensive, argumentative, and began telling me that they didn't send to the wrong place even though she point blank admitted to it in front of me and the nurse on a recorded line. All I expected in that moment was an apology and that they would do better going forward. But, rather the pharmacist started lying and being defensive rather than demonstrating good customer support and finding a way to do better and apologizing for the inconvenience. I informed her that I was disappointed and that not only did they tell me to pick up medication that wasn't ready but they were sending the PA to the wrong phone the entire time. I let her know that all I expected was an apology and that they would do better but instead all I have received is defensive, argumentative tone with not a single apology anywhere. After I told her that, she tried to apologize in the most rude and obnoxious way and then HUNG UP on me! Literally, THE pharmacist HUNG up the phone on a customer because she couldn't bring it to herself to just apologize and be courteous to a loyal customer that has been doing business there for over 10 years. Hanging up on someone is the most rude and disrespectful thing to do to a customer! After that happened I called back and spoke to another pharmacist who told me she just got there and informed me that Matt the manager was not there, but she apologized and said he would reach out when he got to work the following day (Tuesday). That call never happened. Bottom line...I will never do business with anyone that hangs up on me and disrespects me like that over THEIR mistakes! What's even more telling is that they don't seem to care. They were given plenty of opportunity to make this right and they failed at every step. I will no longer buy groceries at Kroger and I will be transferring ALL my prescriptions out to a pharmacy that appreciates my business and can treat customers with the respect they deserve. I am still appalled at what happened, cause this entire matter could have been avoided with a simple genuine apology and politeness. read more

HEB recently opened across the street from Kroger. One would assume Kroger would react, maybe beef up its service, to compete against this giant competitor (across the street). But no. These geniuses still force their customers to self checkout, unless you're lucky enough to arrive when one single register is open - Typical with a long line. Consistently poor customer service. Constant staffing issues. Today they held our click list order all day only to call 10 minutes before pickup and tell us they didn't have it ready. No apology or explanation. Just a maybe it will Be ready in 2-3 days. If you can't staff the service, don't take the order. We could have made other plans to get Groceries today but we're relying on your service to have them ready as promised. Really unacceptable way to operate a business. read more

Worst Kroger on the planet. Deli has 7 slicers and rarely are there 2 people back there. Never enough checkout lines open. Never get everything on my list. If you don't shop first thing in the morning they will be out of several items. It feels like shopping in 1980s eastern block. Some of the checkers are very good, but with 1 or 2 lines of 20 open it doesn't matter. They also need to train the employees that fulfill online orders not to take up the entire lane. That seems petty but it happens multiple times each trip. There is no competition close and so many families around that they refuse to fix anything. They don't care. read more

I pass another Kroger to go to this one because it has a lot of variety. I shop the interior, then hit the frozen and fresh areas so I do like the layout. Downside: I'm not a fan of having to pick through fruit with mold, however I find this to be an event in all grocery stores except TJ, Central Mkt and WF. Upside: The staff at this location is friendly and I appreciated it when 2 guys worked with me to identify and correct an issue. This Kroger is very clean. I go all times of the day, I've been as early as 7:30 in the morning to about 12:00 in the afternoon and the store is always clean. I love the variety of things in this store, they even have furniture. Very nice furniture might I add. Just had an awful experience from the Pharmacy department at this store. Sheila the Pharmacy Manager and Alex a technician both lacked professionalism and any level of etiquette. Called up to simply get a price on a prescription and was treated with such hate and disregard. They both over talked me, didn't listen, left me on hold for extended period and ended up hanging up the phone. This is not the type of behavior that a manager should have, someone that's supposed to lead others especially in health related fields should do so with tact. I was needing to exchange an item and went to Customer service desk when I came into the store. After waiting a few minutes no one came to assist. I thought I would take care of it on my way out. On my way out The CS counter was empty and I asked an employee who pointed out the individual who was assigned to that area. She was engaged in deep conversation with another employee. I caught her attention and she said she would be there in a minute. I waited 3 min and she still didn't show up and I had to leave without completing my transaction. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. People park in front of the store blocking the entrance and lanes waiting for their person to get done shopping. It is always out of stock, disarrayed and there are always lines to check out. They close 75% of the self check out and have only one to two lanes open. Horribly managed. read more

I used to enjoy shopping at this Krogers especially when it first openened back in 2010. Recently, I had a bad experience with one of the Supervisors by the name of Jonathan. First, I had a situation with one of the employees so I called for a Supervisor, it took him a while to get to me. Once he arrived I told him what the issue was and he automatically start making excuses for the non black person, not even making excuses what he said was a right out lie. In my opinion he saw the employee as non blk and a blk customer and started defending the non blk employee and that wasnt the biggest concern for me the problem is when management ignores the concerns that I felt like what happened to me was racism regardless of how they see it. I think its time that African Americans start looking at Krogers differently and pay close attention to how u are treated and if u had the same experience i did, spend your money somewhere else. I dont get that friendly Southern feel like we did when our mothers and grandmothers used to shop at Krogers, I will forever speak out about being mistreated due to race. As a blk woman im sick and tired of being discredited because of my race when we have an issue with a non blk, they are right and we are wrong. Its sickening.
