Recently the little Kroger in The Colony closed and our neighborhood market is definitely missed. Sometimes I just don't want to deal with 121 traffic or navigate a huge Kroger marketplace when I only need one ingredient, or a bottle of wine. That's why I was happy to discover the smaller Kroger location just across the way in Frisco. This is exactly what I needed, a smaller convenient neighborhood store. I love the mega grocery store stores when I'm doing a full shop, but there's real value in being able to run in, grab what you need and get out quickly. Everything is easy to find and the prepared food section is great. If you're like me and living in the grocery store desert of The Colony, head over to the Frisco side and find your small neighborhood Kroger. Sometimes small really is better. read more

Again, the app did not function. Asking for help is useless. Talked with 3 employees, none, including the customer service person, knew how to operate the app. Didn't buy the meat. Gave up! We have a great HEB right up the road where I will shop from now a on. It's well stocked, prices are good, and there is lots of well trained staff that are very helpful. Definitely not shopping at Kroger ever again. We just moved here and since it's right around the corner it's very convenient but after tonight me and my wife will not be shopping at Kroger for groceries or gas anymore. I guess this woman didn't believe I paid for my water because when you put items in the baggage area without scanning them it won't allow you to proceed until said items are removed. I had a 12 pack of liquid death scanned and in the baggage area and if it wasn't scanned the woman standing literally 5 feet from me would have known. No not once did it say remove item or any type of alert. So after I complete my purchase she must of pulled my receipt and she chases me outside and I'm almost to my truck and here she comes telling me I didn't pay for my water. So we get back inside and guess what, I paid for my water. On the receipt. Kroger if your going to have workers stand guard in the self checkout lines and they go and pull a receipt after the purchase has been made without any alerts maybe they should be able to read them. We like H-E-B better anyways and we only shopped there out of convenience. read more

Their slogan is now "Fresh for You". It should be "it's up to you", as they had no checkers working...none...this afternoon. So all customers had to go through the self check out. This was ok for us except for checking out gift cards which can be an issue to do yourself. BUT, there were people with full baskets trying to check out at a terminal area never designed with this in mind. Not a lot of happy campers. This location has gotten a little better over the years. I'm in this store probably 30 times a week as a Shipt shopper. The store is always clean and almost everybody is really friendly It's a nightmare every time I have to go to the deli and Alex is working. That man will look right at you and completely ignore you while he goes about tinkering with stuff or wiping stuff down or staring into the case. Doesn't matter how many times you try to get his attention. I stood there for 17 minutes this morning waiting on acknowledgment that I needed something. SEVENTEEN MINUTES!!! Honestly, the only rude person I've ever encountered at the store. Unfortunately, he makes going to the Kroger almost dreadful. This Kroger is clean, has friendly and helpful workers and always has items that I'm like looking for in stock. The prices are always reasonable and like their commercials say, their fruits and vegetables are fresh. I was pleasantly surprised with chocolate covered strawberries from their store for Valentine's Day. Their were white and dark chocolate covered strawberries in the package. They were delicious! I wish I had more than one package of them...I love strawberries!! read more

Didn't mind shopping here on the weekends as it was up the street from home however, this past weekend... I noticed the vital farms eggs were TWO WEEKS past the used by date. All of them. This is a monster-sized Kroger, complete with the gas station up front where you can take advantage of your Kroger points. I feel this store has slightly wider than normal aisles, which is nice. Is it just me or are all Kroger locations slowly reconfiguring to have the exact same internal layout? For what it's worth, this does make it easier to find things when you pop into a new store. Pre-cut Cantaloupe was sour and bad. This happened at this store AND the store on Main & Teel in Frisco.

I love Kroger. It is my first choice to get my groceries. I was very disappointed in the fruit today. Looking for nice looking oranges or citrus fruit was a challenge. In 3 different locations the fruit had mold on it. I was able to find some oranges. I love the deli and all of the fresh selections that are available at the stores. This morning I was at the deli and I am so thankful that I was the only one there. There was only 1 person working behind the counter. I only ordered 2 lunch meats but it what seemed like a long wait. I was there on a Sunday morning and the store was busy and getting busier but the store was being restocked. I understand that it needs to happen. It just seems like this could have been done before the crowd started to come in. This is a small store without room to spare. read more

I was checking out this evening with only a couple of things. The woman in front of me had quite a lo and became part because the rewards number wasn't working. She checked out anyway. It didn't work for me as well but I didn't have much. I made the comment r that if someone had a big basket it might mean a lot. I LOVE this Kroger! Everyone was friendly (except the Deli lady). The place is super clean and inviting. Way better than the Parker/Tollway ghetto location. Even after their early 2019remodel, it's still awful. I'll make the drive to this location, to get a great experience. Scam Alert! The Kroger located 4851 Legacy Dr in Frisco, Texas is stealing folks Instacart grocery orders. I find it egregious when the Instacart app notifies you "your order has been picked up" when you barely got situated in your order pickup parking spot. This is where it gets interesting- 3 female Kroger employees at the front of the store told me the "pickup office was closed". I returned to my car and called the store and was told by "Pedro" Pickup office personnel (whom I asked his name 3 times) that Instacart deleted my order. But wait there's more...his supervisor "Fernando" double down on "Instacart's system deleting orders after 9p so there's no record of my order". Mind you, my order pickup window was 7:45p-9p. This all sounds sketchy to me. Smells like a grocery store racket. At this point, I have no groceries and I'm out $121. Times are hard for everyone. Consumers shouldn't have to experience being defrauded out of their grocery money. I have yet to receive a refund from Instacart for my purchase as of the writing of this review. read more

Had a wonderful experience at this Kroger the last time. Luke was my checker, and he was very friendly! I do prefer this location over the other ones in the area. The staff is way more friendly, and they are very eager to help. I love that they will open another check stand if the lines get too long. This really cuts down on my wait. read more

I live Kroger but so very disappointed with this Store. Bakery is always low on fresh bread, couldn't even get simple french bread in a Saturday afternoon. It looks like everything is shipped in... And there were boxes everywhere. This happens to me no matter what day I go... Come on Kroger get it together. No fresh peeled garlic.. So off I go to The Market Street Grocery as they have more that I need... I pay more but one stop shopping is key for me. I will say your Wine guys are awesome, they know the wines and gave great recommendation. This is a smaller, older model store but everyone seemed to be nice. I was rushed out by some coworkers to grab emergency birthday party supplies and Kroger was able to get balloons ready for me while I was on my way. That being said, they are small so their selection of cards wasn't great, and they just don't have a lot there. I'm guessing this footprint is appropriate for the area, but I'm used to my mega-huge upgraded Kroger. read more

Aaaargh! Just got fooled by Kroger. My favorite on the go lunch is Starkist tuna pouches. Kroger is now stocking 2.6 oz pouches instead of 4.5 oz pouches without meaningfully changing the price. Twice shortchanged on my lunch before I figured out I had been hoodwinked. Do I really need to now buy 2 pouches to eat one lunch? What is the point of selling 2.6 ounces of tuna? So wasteful. Same price for smaller package! This trend to try to fool the consumer that there is no such thing as food price inflation is idiotic. I'd give zero stars to Starkist and every other corporation that does this but can't find them on yelp. read more

This is quite possibly the best Kroger I've ever been to. The cleanliness and healthy options rival Market Street - at better prices! It's expansive, well-stocked, and employs competent people. #Winning. 1. Fresher produce than most Krogers. 2. Bulk items are always refilled. 3. Easy to navigate. 4. Self-service registers are always manned to help those not skilled in the art of scanning your own items. 5. Self-aware customers that do not park their carts in the middle of the aisle and get angry when you have to scooch it over. Seriously? The meat and seafood department was left unattended for 30 minutes. This was so disappointing it was hilarious to me.This was after work on a weekday at 6:00pm when people are just getting off work, going to the grocery store to gather dinner among other things. The peak hour or so after work - and I come to meat department to get some chicken to grill for the night. I find this sign that says "Dinner Break - will be back at 6:30pm". Don't get me wrong, every person deserves a break. For all I know, this person could have been working a double and hadn't eaten all day. But c'mon man you can't just leave this department unattended like that for 30 minutes. Usually, there are two people running the meat and seafood spot right? At first I was pissed but then realized I had some venison in my fridge at home. I was not in any rush so I waited in the next section over where I could see other people walk up and watch their reactions. 30 minutes of hilarity ensued as multiple people walked up confused, some angry, others willing to wait, others contemplating going back behind the counter to get the meat themselves and other cussing out loud. I was laughing so hard for awhile I could not wait to meet the person who made this sign. One guy came in and ruined my comedy show by going to get the manager who eventually came to assist everyone. "Am I on candid f'ing camera over here wtf!" It was fun for me watching all these peoples fits of misery. The manager apologized to everyone individually and he was a nice guy. The store itself is fine, but I think if I am going to get meats to grill after work I will probably head elsewhere and not take the chance of no one being there. read more

I like this Kroger so far. They have good sales but you have to know how to shop there. They are overpriced in some areas but I get what I need and I'm out ! Everyone is so friendly from the bakery, to the deli, to the cashiers. I enjoy that because after a long day at work a little hospitality goes a long way. I was enticed by several large font red "4X Fuel Points on Gift Cards" purchase signs as I approached the store. I studied the details and they indicated a need for "digital coupon" required. See details inside. I opened the Kroger App on my phone. I found the required 4X Fuel Points coupon. It also said "See store for details." I entered the store. Scanned all the Gift Card purchase opportunities. I found the "Kroger Gift Card" and saw no specific exclusion of the "4X Fuel Point" offer. So, I selected a blank value Kroger Gift card. I entered the only open check-out aisle expecting to ask "does this 4X fuel point deal work on this card." An Assistant approached me and said "I can help you on the Self Scan" machines. I explicitly said "I want to buy this Kroger Gift Card to get the 4Xfuel points." He said I can do that. He scanned me out. I purchased $100.00 on the Kroger Gift Card. I paid. I asked that he please ensure that I was "given the 4X fuel points." He said that I "was only credited points on the rest of your purchase, not the Gift Card" He asked me to come "with him to the Customer Service Desk." The lady behind the desk told me "Kroger Gift Cards are not eligible for 4XFuel Points and your purchase is non-refundable." I bought in good faith. I was defrauded the Kroger promotion. read more

The quality of food and produce is great. The customer service leaves something to be desired. Hate going to the meat counter. Today asked for burger patties. Said hello and asked how he was doing to the employee and I think he might've mumbled something ack. Didn't make eye contact, just waited for me to tell him what I wanted, did so and I said thank you and good bye and nothing. How am I the one providing YOU customer service? I was searching for an item and saw an employee and asked since the shelf was empty if there was a possibility of knowing If they had any more in stock at all. He said sure but I'm off and walked away. Left without my item, probably would've spent more money on store but was over it. Went to the Kroger on Preston in frisco to get remaining items even though it's further away and required an additional item. At this point, might've as well been Walmart customer service. read more

They can also share a good recipe or two. :) The store is clean and the checkers are nice.
