I was very sad when Farm Fresh closed down a few years ago but Kroger has been the next best thing to replace them. The store layout is the same and the only thing missing is the Fried Chicken and sides. Kroger sells Fried Chicken but it's definitely not the same as Farm Fresh Chicken! This store is well stocked with fresh fruit and vegetables. The meat department has a good selection and so does the seafood department. All in all, I'm glad that Kroger is here, but I miss Farm Fresh! read more

I'm happy there's a closet Kroger to me now. It's pretty much the same layout as the prior Farm Fresh. They do have sushi. They kept the Starbucks. They do not have a home section such as home decor, outdoor products, or apparel. Employees are nice enough. There's plenty of parking even though it's a busy one. I love the ease of getting in and out early at 6pm. read more

This Kroger is the anchor supermarket to the Great Bridge Shopping Center. There are plenty of food selections. Huge produce and bakery section. Glad they have plenty of self service kiosk for a quicker shopping experience. read more

Honestly was pretty disappointed in this Kroger on the night of 2/22/22. Near the cake section the whole floor was wet with puddles all around the whole counter display. It also didn't seem very cleaning tonight. They did have some supper cute cupcakes out that we looked at my kids thought the fishing ones were cute! read more

The store manager, Melissa, is completely incompetent. She treats her employees horribly, and seems to only care about maximizing her own bonus. On Wed, June 24, 2020, at 8:40 my husband purchased rotten tomatoes from your store. While preparing his salad for lunch I noticed they were rotten. He returned to the store to exchange them at 1030. He was told he couldn't exchange them because customer service was closed. So he'll have to return them tomorrow when he gets off work. This is unacceptable. So we plan on not shopping there in the future. It's a shame because most of the workers are awesome. Policy on returns is pathetic when I must return home with rotten produce. Because they won't exchange them, but would prefer to inconvenience the customer. read more

I recently moved to Chesapeake and use this Krogers for my grocery shopping, usually once a week or so. I don't buy a large amount on each visit, I prefer getting fresher product more often if necessary. The reason I write this review is not to praise the quality of bakery, seafood or any other department. Im sure food is food no matter the market or location. What makes a market, restaurant or any business special is the people who work there. You have a young lady Dominique (Domo) her name tag says and I have probably been there 10x, and she always says hello and makes sure I could find everything I needed. Yesterday I needed more than I usually do and went out through a cashier. Her voice is unmistakable and very pleasant sounding and we got to talking. This is where I learned her name. I said she has that type of personality and upbeatness you can't teach and she is just a superstar when it comes to making people feel welcome. I am retired now and for over 40 years I worked in restaurants and when you see someone special you just know it. This is a review so the managers Know it. Ive never seen a grocery store so consistently have bad produce, if its not already rotting on the shelf it will go bad within a day once home. I can always smell rotting produce when i walk in the front doors. 2 stars for consistency. read more

I have never been a fan of Kroger, but my daughters said give it a chance, you will like it. Sorry I hate the store! Produce is a nightmare, old and bad, just bought strawberries the season just started so they should be fresh you would think. Not in this store, I went through 6 containers before I found on I thought would be good. That was a mistake, when I got home I started to clean them off and they were like mush. When I called all I got was I'll tell the produce dept to check them out. They are not close to me and I didn't feel like driving over to Greenbrier to Harris Teeter. I will make sure I go out of my way to Harris Teeter. You took away our Farm Fresh and gave us this shit store. Either get yourself together or give us back our Farm Fresh. read more

This is a clean store with good produce and very polite employees. They have sushi and a salad bar. Their hot food selection could be better as could their seafood selection. Overall, it's nice to have a Kroger close by and with a few improvements, this would be my primary grocery store. read more

Great experience! Everything was clean, well stocked, and with fresh produce, deli, and meats. The prices are as good or better than other local retailers. The staff - they were a treat - everyone smiled and said hi as I passed by and at the check out (some even joked around with me making what is usually a tedious and boring chore of getting groceries a fun and lighted hearted errand). Kind of disappointed in their seafood selections. Reminds me of Walmart and Food Lion where everything is prepackaged and/or frozen. With all the various types of fish that are brought into Hampton Roads you would think that Kroger would take advantage of the offerings. I ended up going to one of the Korean supermarkets where you have an excellent choice of locally caught seafood by local fishermen. read more

I don't shop much at Kroger but after checking their website for a special I went to this location. Their website had prime rib roast on sale. When I arrived, no roasts in the case. I didn't realize they didn't have a fresh case like Harris Teeter. I inquired about the rib roast and was rudely told, none available and they aren't on sale. Where do I begin... you bought out our beloved Farm Fresh which offered so many great options. Hot lunch/dinner, phenomenal salad bar, deli including Boars head meats and full seafood and meat counter. Since it closed, I've been visiting the Kroger on NORTH Battlefield Blvd and while the store is twice the size of the SOUTH store I assumed it would still have the same great Department's without the clothing, houseware and kitchen aisles (I am happy those aren't in this store). Boy oh boy was I mistaken. Your deli does not even sell Boars head and has 1/2 the selection, you have absolutely no meat and seafood display or department for that matter. There's not an opportunity to pick your meats or have them seasoned to perfection. Your "hot food" is a joke with no more than 3 options. No warm sides for a quick meal on the go. I took one look at your salad bar and walked away completely. Craft beer is all the rage right now and you offer 0 selections. Farm Fresh was in our area for nearly two decades and definitely set the bar high for its "replacement". Your store on NORTH Battlefield Blvd left me excited for "my" new store to open. We were going to have so many great options, something the neighborhood supermarkets could not compete with. I visited your store within 5 days of opening and I'm extremely disappointed. I am so thankful to see so many familiar faces from Farm Fresh because they continue to provide exceptional customer service. You took away a phenomenal grocery store and replaced it with a subpar store at best. Highly disappointed in your stores arrangement and lack of variety in your departments. Will likely not return as I have 2 Food Lions within 3 miles, 1 Walmart Neighborhood Markrt within 1.5 miles and 1 full service Walmart within 5 miles. Agree with Amy B. No Boars Head, poor selection of interesting items. Deli counter is just as bad, and sparse as Walmart (crappy cold cuts). All the other Krogers in the area I visited (and even Lynchburg) carry premium cold cuts - e.g., Boars Head. Manager here must have graduated (sic) from the bottom of the class. Don't understand the logic of not following a plan / formula that works for the area (Farm Fresh). Will now go to Foodllion or Walmart for sundries, and use Harris Teeter (otherwise too $$$$) for deli items. Kroger really %$#@#$-up with this store. Lost another customer. read more
