This is always a clean store and pleasant experience. But today, I came in with my 1.5 year old unprepared for him to have a meltdown when I buckled him into the cart. He started screaming crying as I rushed through the aisles trying to get my stuff and leave. Amiyah went out of her way to help us. She started talking with my son and offered him an unopened snack she had for herself. She completely turned things around for my son and every other shopper in ear shot. So this is my first time in this Walmart since the mass shooting occurred back in November 22, 2022. It was reopened following a ceremony to thank the community for their support, and to honor the victims and survivors. I did not take any pictures. I will say, it was completely redone the best way it could. There are a lot more self checkouts. They seemed to have a better and greater selection of clothes for the whole family. Their food section was great to be honest. They had a good amount of organics. However, they were out of some fresh herbs that I needed. I was in the makeup section and needed some items in the glass case. I alerted an employer and within minutes had someone there to open it for me. Checkout was pretty easy to operate. I had a question and an employee was nice enough to help. If I had to come back here again I probably wouldn't hesitate if in the area. Not friendly except for the bank. Before checking into my hotel i went to this location for grocery items. I put my duffel bag on the bottom part of my cart. Location is still unsafe. Parking lot people want to park and block traffic. Also park in areas clearly marked for no parking by the handicapped parking. If anyone says anything they are ready to fight and call people racist. Drive into this to go into the store. I went to Walmart to get some holiday clothes and decorations. I love how this Walmart always has carts available when you walk in, the staff keeps the carts stocked and ready to use to shop. They had a nice variety of holiday sweaters to get you in the Xmas spirit! The store was organized and easy to navigate. The holiday themed candies , chocolates, and snacks are also out. I like how they are displayed near the front for easy access. I usually go through the self checkout but chose to go through the line today because there were shorter lines than usual. The staff is friendly and I always have a nice conversation with them when I'm checking out. The parking lot can get busy but it's so spacious there is always plenty of parking. Again, this Walmart does get busy, today was less crowded but I always have a decent shopping experience there. read more

Very limited registers that let you use cash. Even If you are using a credit card the lines are so backed up, it's overwhelming.

My 1-year-old was finally able to meet her dad yesterday, so I created a photo book of memories as a gift from her. I placed a same-day order for the book and was notified that it was ready for pickup an hour before the scheduled meet - perfect timing! I ran into Walmart, grabbed a gift bag and some tissue paper then bolted to the photo center. An associate found my order; printed but not put together. An instant rush of panic flooded my system. Sam, a night shift employee came over and explained what could've gone wrong and asked if I'd be able to come back the following day. I let him know the situation and - without hesitation, Sam frantically searched for a book kit and informed me that he would make an honest attempt to piece it together, although he'd never done it before. I told him I'd be back in 1.5 hours, so he didn't feel rushed. I left the store and returned to find Sam, still in the same spot, meticulously crafting my daughter's book. I fled the scene so he wouldn't see me and panic. After browsing the aisles, I returned to find that Sam had gone on a much needed break after crafting not one, but TWO books. He was dissatisfied with the way the first one came out and started over entirely. I cannot explain how BEAUTIFUL the final product was. The attention to detail, the alignment, the image quality - everything was absolutely perfect! The effort that he put into making that book was so apparent that it brought tears to my eyes. This man deserves every award imaginable for going above and beyond for myself and my daughter. The kindness and humility that he exhibited toward us is something that I truly believe the world could use more of. Thank you, Sam! And to the rest of the night shift employees for your kindness and compassion. I see you! read more

Nastiest Walmart I have ever visited. The employees are rude and lazy. No interest in helping customers and they treat the merchandise so rough it's a wonder it sells. One used an item (2 lb bag of shredded cheese) to block a sneeze. It's nasty. read more

Deli counter personnel were not very courteous to a new patron. Did not know there was a "for meat" line and a "for cheese" line. After waiting for 10 minutes at the prepared food line, also referred to as the cheesel line by the deli person, I was told to get behind a customer on the meat line that arrived well after me (and in a very loud voice for all to hear). I guess customer courtesy is not a "deli trait" at this Walmart. I frequently shop at the Virginia Beach Walmart and have always been treated with courtesy and respect, even when I may need shopping redirection by an employee. read more

I have been to this Walmart three or four times because it is conveniently located next to Kohl's and Chick Filet. Every time I come here it is always crowded, the layout seems disorganized, it seems unclean and the big one for me is staff is never helpful. If you are looking for an item, you are better off downloading the Walmart app and typing in the product you are searching for to determine what aisle it's in. They don't have scanners to scan merchandise, you will need to chase down an employee and ask them to scan an item for you. They never seem to have what I am looking for whether it is hand soap or certain snacks. They do have a nail salon inside this Walmart in case you need a manicure or pedicure. As far as social distancing goes, that really doesn't exist in this store unless you are in line to pay and standing on the "stand here" floor stickers. There is no hand sanitizer at checkout stations only at the one entrance and exit, they do not have anyone sanitizing carts so you would have to bring your own unless you are ok using the hand wipes they provide. read more

This is my neighborhood store so I frequent it often. It is usually full stocked like every other Walmart and is it located near a Sam's Club, HomeGoods, Chick-fil-A, and Applebbees. My only complaint is that many of the employees are not very friendly but you cant in them all read more

It's Walmart. They have all the household basics you need and then some. You can even order online and they will have someone get the stuff you ordered and have it ready for you at their pick-up spot in the back of the store--just look for the big orange sign. Walmart still has the best value around for the aforementioned items, but I still check my go-to apps like Retail-Me-Not, Amazon and Quick Scan to see if I can get a better deal on a product. If you're in "need-it-now" mode and Walmart has it in stock, go ahead and get it. My biggest beef with Walmart is, and always has been, the number of open registers. In my years of buying stuff, I have only seen one Walmart who broke the code on open registers and that was in Ellsworth, ME. The store was buzzing with customers and most of their 20+ lanes were open. I understand labor costs and the importance of sales vs. labor, but seriously, have someone open another register when your four open registers have a line of people blocking the main drag and the self-checkout lines are an equally long slog. read more

This was the incident was the last straw for this store The last time I went to this Walmart I was trying to use their self check out registers. Everybody knows there are only 4 of them and 1 is usually not working. As I was standing In line I noticed a man finished up his purchase and left. This was the register in front of the one I was waiting in line for. No one else in the other 3 lines went over to it, so after like a minute or 2 - with no one still moving to it I was thinking to myself "well if no one else is going to use it I'll go" because the guy I was behind just started and had like 30 items in his cart. So I walk up to the empty register and as I was about to ring my items up. The older lady working that station sees me and says "Nuh uh, Excuse me! - He was here before you, he goes first!" and motions to a man who was next in line at his register on the opposite aisle to come over (the guy in front of him was putting his money in the machine-dude was basically done). And I ask her, "That guy over there? Standing in that line who is next for that register in That aisle over there? And she says "Yeah" and then kind of pushes me away from the register and the guy walks over looking at me with a smirk on his face and starts ringing up his item. And I'm just staring at both of them like "are you serious right now?". Dude had one thing, and I really needed what I had came to the store for in the first place and of course this was the cheapest price. So I waited and paid. I use to feel sorry for the cashiers, I use to be one (Not at Wally-World). I let a lot of stuff slide from the employees here at this store, but after this last rude incident - I was done. read more

Id give it zero stars if I could. WORST Walmart location ever. Every single time ive gone in here the shelves and racks are so unorganized and/or empty it looks like a discount warehouse about to go out of business. Then add in the employees and forget it. The girl I dealt with in customer service today was SO rude. I stood there with my return for a good five minutes while she was texting on her phone. When she finally looked up she had the audacity to act like I was bothering her. She took care of my return...stopping midway to RESPOND TO A TEXT MESSAGE ON HER PHONE and just tossed my return receipt on the counter. I kind of laughed, picked up my receipt and turned around to walk away and she again had the audacity to make it seem like I was the problem. She yells out in the snarkiest tone "HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY MAAM!" I turned around and looked at her like REALLY?! I still didn't say anything. She then said "YES YOU MAAM! HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY!" I finally said "Listen little girl id stop if I were you. Your job LITERALLY is customer service. If you dont like it then get another job. I waited while you were TEXTING on your phone and then you had the gall to act like I offended you somehow. I said your attitude is atrocious and you need new customer service training. Dont act like that because YOU were in the wrong and obviously hate your job". She responded with OK BYE THEN. Girl bye. I found a manager and let him know. He didn't seem to care. This probably isn't the worst Walmart I've been to, but it's definitely in the top 5. Their shelves are usually empty and it's impossible to find an associate to help you if you have a question. Today, I wanted to buy a videogame but I couldn't because there wasn't a soul to be found in their electronics department. And, as usual, getting cold cuts took up the majority of the time of my visit. I timed it today, from start to finish of being helped it took 24 minutes. To get 1lb bologna, 1lb turkey, and 1lb ham. I really don't suggest anyone come to this Walmart unless they absolutely have to. read more

I was looking for a lawnmower on the Walmart app and found the one I wanted for $258 on April 8. So when I saw there was only one left, I ordered it and paid for it so all I had to do was pick it up at this store. I'd always wanted to try the pickup service, so I thought I'd give it a shot. The app said it would be ready by noon. It was still early in the am, so my husband and I waited around on a nice day on his only day off to pick up the lawn mower. It was finally time to pick it up, and when we were headed to the store, I noticed on the app that the lawnmower was cancelled. No explanation. I tried calling the pick-up center, and the phone rang and then it hung up. No answer. No apology, no "kiss my foot"... nothing! So I went on Amazon and found a lawn mower for $174 that I like much more than what I was trying to order, AND it doesn't need gas! I found my new shopping spot, AND I don't have to drive out to a crowded cesspool to order expensive items! So! My one star is due to the underhanded way they dealt with this issue. I get it. It's the middle of the covid19, somebody could've purchased the last model before the ...what are they called?..."gatherer"?...so before the gatherer had a chance to pull the item off the shelf, which would've probably involved a forklift...and I realize I'm not the only shopper who ordered pickup. Things are crazy. I get it. My issue wasn't so much that it was sold out from under me. My issue was they didn't leave an explanation, they didn't call and explain, "Look, we're sorry, but this expensive item is no longer available." And they didn't even pick up the phone when I tried to call! Twice! A little courtesy, people? Plus, we wasted half a day waiting, when we could've done something else. A short convo could've solved everything! So, why did I give another star? It's because of walmart's unprofessionalism that I was led to Amazon, and discovered a better way of shopping. Walmart's store pickup doesn't work, is a waste of time, and Amazon delivers! To my doorstep! And the lawnmower I bought was less expensive, better built, and Amazon offers much more variety and options than Walmart. I used the time I was waiting for the delivery to download the manual, and studied how to assemble it. So as soon as it arrived, I knew everything I needed to know. I did need a 12 gauge extension cord, but I didn't go to Walmart on Sams circle for it. Nope! I went to Lowes. I may get basic groceries from the Walmart near me (which is a half-decent Walmart when they have items in stock..and when the cashier isn't barking at my husband for trying to buy two 4-packs of TP instead of one), but I will not buy expensive items, and I will not be using the pickup system. You guys need to get your act together. Don't offer pickup service if you aren't prepared to treat customers with respect. read more

99% of Walmarts' are awful!!!! Why is it that they are typically unorganized? Things are priced incorrectly or consistently in the wrong places, and the people who work there are more rude than pleasant! Tired of the quality of service, the lack of pride in these stores (especially this one), and getting to the register to be blindsided by different prices for things that were in wrong spots! It is NOT my job to go into a store and match all the UPC numbers up to the items. 2 times in the last week alone, I have had this happen and the lines have been held up for the team member to "check" the price, move the item to the right spot, and tell me they cannot match the price. I understand that there are people that may switch merchandise but that's not me! Annoyed with this happening pretty much every time I shop at Walmart. I avoid this location with a passion, which is a shame as it is the closest to my house. I want to make it clear overall I am a Walmart fan even a stockholder but this one is terrible. Problem 1- Long lines. The store consistently does not have enough registers open. Problem 2-Rude to nonexistent customer service. Consistent in every department. Problem 3-Dirty and unorganized sales floor. Problem 4-Filthy restrooms. This Walmart is the reason I became a Target customer in the Greenbrier area. I don't know who the regional manager is but you need to do a surprise inspection on this store. read more

Shopping with my girls was a good day . They had so many special but we went for the Mac beauties...they gave my daughter a facial and she looked beautiful. Of course we made purchases ,the makeup artist was terrific and I highly recommend him. read more

I went there today and I went into the jewelry section No one was there so I went right next to it to fitting rooms and asked a group of employees if I could get some help over there and one said yes I went back and waited for someone no one came Another employee passed by and I asked her if I could get some help and she said she would call someone over so I waited even more Still no one came So I walked over to another department and asked another lady and she said she would go get the lady that is supposed to be there that she was in fitting I told her I asked someone from over there if I could get help like 20 minutes ago and no one has shown up yet So finally my brother and mother finally found someone and it took her another 5 minutes to come to the jewelry and open it and she had a small attitude like she was mad because I was disrupting her from talking to her coworkers One of my friends called to complain about it and the manager said that they have been getting a lot of complaints about that section and people not being there and taking forever to get there To me why would you have someone work there for you if they are not going to be where they are supposed to be. If you need it in a pinch and there are no nearer locations, I can see shopping at this one, but otherwise, NO. The eye center for one is the nastiest place in town for eye visits. They're friendly until you start questioning. Forget it after that. The greeters are usually pleasant, but no one else seems to be happy to help or do their job. I get tired of hearing people say how underpaid or mistreated they are. You know what? It's a choice to work there. It's a choice to be rude and nasty to customers. Circumstances should not dictate your attitude across the board. That's a character trait, period. The store is nothing special. It is semi-organized and bathrooms pretty nasty. There are never enough registers open and c'mon...this is a giant store. Sometimes it is just worth it to pay a little more and pinch in other areas if possible. This store sucks. read more

I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this review because almost everyone is pretty familiar with Walmart. Everyone is acquainted with the wide variety of products at prices that are usually some of the lowest around. There are some things about this particular Walmart that annoy me. One is that I can never count on consistancy of inventory. Once a product goes out of stock it may be weeks or months until it comes back in stock. Another annoyance is the deli counter. You just have to wait in an unorganized line to place your order. It would be so much more efficient and nicer for customers if they had a number system in place. they used to have order forms where you could fill out your order then go do your shopping then come back to pick up your order. Apparently they have abandoned this but it never worked anyway because in my experience they never started working on the order until you came back to pick it up. Most of the time there are a lot of employees around the store but finding one that can actually help you is hit and miss. There are price scanners around the store but most of them are usually broken which is very inconvenient since there are a good many products that don't have a price displayed. CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS!!! I have frequently discovered mistakes on my receipts and every single discrepancy has been to the store's advantage. For some unexplained reason over half the times I buy jalapeño peppers they get rung up as poblano peppers which run over $1.50 more per pound. The infuriating thing is that when the cashier makes a mistake the customer has to suffer through waiting in a long line for the understaffed Customer Service department to correct the issue. This could be avoided by using the self-service checkout kiosks but they are pretty glitchy and a smooth transaction is rare unless you've just got a couple of items. This Walmart location is the most convenient for me so I do shop here occasionally but if I have the time I'll head to the Grassfield or Edinburgh locations which are cleaner and seem to be better run. The shopping experience at those store is pretty pleasant and much preferable to the Battlefield North location. read more

I go to this Walmart mainly for the pharmacy. It's the closest one to the house so we'll also shop around if we're already there for prescriptions. Sometimes, Walmart does have better prices than Food Lion. We've been here countless times throughout the years and haven't had a terrible experience. There definitely are better Walmarts out there, but again, this is closest and another Walmart is not worth the price in gas to get there. We pretty much go in knowing what we're going to buy then get out. Self checkout is what we do 90% of the time. The other review that mentions the carts, however... 100% truth. There have been times where we'll turn back and get a new cart and have to choose between the lesser of the two. read more

Okay, it's Walmart... my standards aren't too high in service. I walk into Walmart knowing what I need, and want; I ask for help when I need help finding what I'm look for, but if I did need any help, they had zero workers around to even help me. Seriously, avoid this location all together. There are other stores in the area you can go to that have workers working at cash registers, and workers around the store to help customers if they need it. Went to this Walmart since I was in the area to return an item, and luckily I got to the customer service line when I did, the line behind me was up to maybe 7-10 customers long, with one representative working. While I was standing in line, other customers from the regular purchase line were coming up to the counter to see if there was anyone else available in the back to help with the purchases. I turned around to look at the regular line, and there were maybe five registers open, with miles of customers lined up to check out. After seeing that, I decided I didn't even want to purchase anything, just to avoid that line. I walked around Walmart just to walk around after dinner, and I noticed they didn't even really have anyone working out on the floor either. I saw customers looking around, making circles, looking for a particular item. They were searching for someone, anyone to help them, but just couldn't find anyone. So if you could, I would avoid this Walmart and go somewhere else, only because of their ridiculously long lines, and short staff. read more

Wow. I never thought I'd be reviewing a Walmart store (aren't they all the same?)... but after this most recent -and last- trip, I thought I'd add my two cents. Apparently I'm not the only one with these opinions either. I'll keep it as short and sweet as possible. 1. This store is completely and utterly disgusting in every aspect. I'd rather wet myself before using one of their restrooms. This store makes the Walmart in my hometown look like Nordstrom... and that's saying a lot considering the Walmart back home is a total dump. Today, I saw a woman changing her kid's diaper on one of the store's Subway dining tables and then, while I waited 25 minutes in the checkout line, I witnessed a woman barfing in the trash can by the entrance. She wiped her mouth on her sleeve and then turned around as if nothing happened, walked over to a fruit display and fingerbanged about half the apples... checking for ripeness I can only guess? 2. Most of the cashiers hate life. Either that or they've been given lobotomies robbing them of any personality aside from attitude and the ability to do a lot of eye-rolling. I do however, really like one of the door greeters (John? He's the guy with the walker). He's always cheery and in a good mood. You cashiers should take note!!! 3. Majority of this store's customers walk around with the same look as the employees.. i.e. the lights are on but nobody's home. This isn't new to Walmart stores, obviously... just pay a visit to PeopleOfWalmart.com. However unlike many other stores where it's common to see "zombies", this look seems to be painted on the faces of almost everyone shopping here. Are they pumping something through the air vents? Maybe *I* have this same "look" as I wait in line while watching my ice cream melt. 4. Every cart that I've ever used has alignment issues. On some of the baskets, 50% of the wheels don't even touch the floor... the cart teeters as two of the wheels twirl around and around as I attempt to muscle the basket in a forward direction all while trying to dodge misbehaved children with kool aid stained mouths and morbidly obese people on motorized carts*. It's like this Walmart is where all the other Walmarts send their abused and defective shopping baskets. Kinda like a shopping cart nursing home. Walmart In Chesapeake: The Grocery Cart Graveyard. 5. No trip to this Walmart is complete without witnessing an ADHD kid riding a conveyer belt while their parent encourages the awesome behavior... It's like they're at an amusement park (when really, they're in the freak show tent at a circus). I could go on. *I'm adding this here simply because I know that there are plenty of people who need and use these carts due to a disability. My comment is not directed at these folks... it is however, directed at the people who choose to ride around for convenience rather than walk and get a little exercise. read more

Stay away! We went today and my children got to listen to three employees discuss clubbing and how a guy cheated on his girlfriend. They were so loud, you could hear them three aisles over! Then we got to the cashier and she never said a single word to us. Not a single word.
