This is by far the least friendly, most inconvenient pharmacy to get prescriptions filled that I have ever seen. I would give zero stars if I could. Although, I just saw their 1.6 star rating and realized; they obviously don't care. This is why cvs is constantly closing locations, because they have risen to the level of their own incompetence. I've dealt with these people for too long and will transfer my scripts to Walgreens. Hopefully they aren't run by incompetence. read more

I see why they have a 2 star review LOL. I just got off the phone with the pharmacist and it was the most awful customer service, lack of empathy, phone call I've ever had in the healthcare field. Some of my pills came damaged so I kindly asked for a new bottle of pills, was willing to show my prescription, put my doctor on the phone, and bring back the damage one for proof. I spoke to a pharmacist last night who said I COULD in fact do this no problem, then called again this morning and they said the pharmacist had "no recollection of calling me" yeah okay... I have a call from them at 8:05 pm and it was one of the pharmacists saying I could do this, so they made me feel like I was crazy. Never again will I be coming to this location, so rude. Highly suggest going to another one. read more

Now it seems half the staff has lost their bat having minds. No class no manners and they barely provide the minimum services of a pharmacy. Do better!! Treating people like they're not already under the weather HENCE US COMING IN FOR MEDICINE. As a pregnant person waiting for nausea meds to close the line while I'm already in it was a bit ridiculous so I can't imagine what other absurdities are comitted here. Even 4-6 year olds complain about how lazy and slow the service is yet as customers we patiently wait. The same respect would should be applied this is not the ghetto get it together. read more

Most of the reviews I've read for this location focus on the pharmacy staff. My pharmacy experience is limited to two prescription pickups and two COVID tests which were handled with great customer service without a hitch. I primarily run into this location for sales on makeup, snacks, and other basics. They are usually well stocked in makeup that covers a variety of shades for the palest and brownest of us which can be a challenge to find at times elsewhere. Staff are always helpful if I need assistance finding an item, especially since the store layout was updated. More than once I've seen front retail staff disrespected by customers while never responding rudely even though it would be justified. They maintained professionalism especially when people were losing their minds over toilet paper. read more

If I could, I would give this specific location no stars if possible. I am a dedicated CVS customer utilizing the pharmacy and coupons. However, this pharmacy staff is rude, unprofessional, and untimely. They do NOT ever answer the phone (I have been on the phone waiting 30+ minutes with still no answer). I have to go to the store to get answers in regards to my prescriptions. They take about a crazy amount of time to fill prescriptions, especially frustrating when they are ordered and needed ASAP. I have even tried to call the front desk to get help in regards to the pharmacy answering the phone and the front desk doesn't even answer. This happens every time on multiple/every time I have to deal with this locations. And it's ONLY THIS LOCATIONS. It's disappointing and upsetting because I have remained such a dedicated customer and feel the need to take my business elsewhere. Also, this all was prior to COVID. So COVID is not an excuse. I could go on about all my experiences at this one location. Just going here changes my day for the worst. Do not go to this location at all cost. read more

Actually Zero stars but won't allow me to post with zero. Very poor service. On hold forever. Drive thru at 3am coming from Emergency... system was "down". When called to refill other prescriptions, prescription numbers were not recognized by the system but when spoke to an actual person, prescriptions were good. read more

If you are picking up, dropping off, or calling into the pharmacy plan on dedicating at least an hour regardless of appointment or if your meds are ready. This pharmacy does not send out notifications on your medication status ect and the drive through is constantly a parking lot. It's about 20 min per vehicle in the drive through. read more

Did my second serious couponing trip here today and it was a mess- some prices were incorrect and I wasn't automatically getting my coupons taken off, extra bucks, and gift cards unless I said something. Giving 4 stars because eventually I got most of my savings and the cashier was very kind. read more

I stopped in this afternoon to pick up some shaving supplies. I grew up with "just a CVS" so there is that comfort level and familiarity you would expect in the cookie cutter layout knowing where everything is etc... It may be a new floorplan but it is still a decent chain. "The Good" - The staff is great, I was greeted with a hello as soon as I walked in and again when I approached the counter. - They have a drive through pharmacy which will help people save time when they are in a rush, I mention this because there are also signs everywhere and show you exactly where to go in the parking lot. - The Photo Center allows you to do some copying and cropping of older pictures which is a nice one stop done aspect that they have won me over on. - There is now a Mini Grocery in my Pharmacy. Sodas, cold coffee drinks, water, ice cream and higher priced quick meals are available when you forget you have nothing at home or are craving Stouffer's French Bread Pizza with Pepperoni... Guess what I had for lunch today?? "The Meh" - The layout has changed and it is different, and kinda weird. The front half of the store (as you enter, the left side) Is what the entire CVS used to be. They also now have freezers and coolers which is a bonus but there is a ton of shelf space taken up by "As seen on TV" quality merchandise. This is why your prescriptions take 30 minutes so you can wander and impulse buy from the people you are already waiting on. Be Strong people! Sit in the chair and wait. "The Bad" - The parking lot has extremely tight lanes that are not forgiving when a Pick-Up is coming at you at 30mph in a parking lot. read more

Very poor customer service. My husband picked up my son's prescriptions and we were missing one. I called to see why it was not filled and they stated they were out of it. This is reflective of the pharmacy, not the store portion (which has always been fine, and friendly.) Everytime I walk into this pharmacy, the staff looks like someone ran over their dog. They're slow, and not friendly. Tonight I waited over an hour in line for a Covid test (for work,) and when I got to the window, I sat an additional 30-40 mins with no communication. I saw this girl with her mask hanging below her mouth on the computer, struggling while her fellows worked around her. Not once did they offer to help her, or once did she offer me any explanation why I was waiting so long. I would think this is normal for this clinic, but I've been to another cvs for testing and it was a literal breeze. It was ridiculously frustrating. I left without a test because my insurance wasn't playing nice, but I'm not sure because she talked so meekly I couldn't Understand her. I'm angry, so this is harsh. I get they're busy and I get it's really hard. But I work in Health care, and this is not ok. If this was a singular occurrence I'd let it go, but the minute clinic often just...can't find our appointments. Fix it y'all read more

The store does not even deserve the one star but since they don't have half stars or no stars, I had no choice but to leave one star. This is the absolute worst CVS I have ever used, not only are they slower than molasses on a cold winter day, they have ZERO customer service abilities, I went to pick up a prescription two nights ago and used the drive-thru. Pharmacy drive thru - sent my ID and debit card in the box. Got them back... woman told me to drive to covid line because I had too many prescriptions to send thru the tube. I got home & rec'd a phone call telling me I had someone else's I'd & debit card in my bag and that I would have to come back. I did so & the woman said absolutely not one word to me, literally threw my bag back into the window and turned around. I said something to her because she was so rude & she said, 'I told you I was sorry when I called'. I've been going to that pharmacy for over ten years & never had one problem. Praying this very tall woman is a temp because she's not going to keep me from using that CVS unless she is a new hire. Unbelievable! read more

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I called the pharmacy line and I've been on hold for 40 minutes now, after being on hold for 25 minutes the first time. You can never talk to an actual person!!! Once you do, you've been re-routed so many times by their menus that you end up with the wrong department! Biggest frustration -- I have no way of directly contacting the NP who treated my son for an ear infection (swimmer's ear) yesterday. She prescribed enough meds for 1 ear only, as that's all that hurt yesterday, but this morning he woke up with pain in the other ear. There are no refills on his prescription (which I filled at the Pharmacy in-house), so I'm trying to get a refill so that I can treat both ears without running out. Looks like I may have to pay for another visit just to accomplish this. It's annoying that you can't reach the person who treated you, and it feels like a racket that I have to pay another $139 to have her write a prescription for the other ear! Similar frustration with communication yesterday. She said she'd prescribe something that should cost $13 or so and be ready in 5 minutes. We went through the drive-through (which was a 30 minutes wait) only to find out she never sent over the prescription! We went home, came back 45 minutes later, and waiting in the drive-through again. 20 minutes later, they said it was going to be $74!!!! I refused to pay that, pulled around, parked, and called the same number I'm on hold with today, trying to TALK TO A HUMAN BEING! I had no way of talking to the NP in the clinic, and she was with a patient anyway. I finally went in the store and appealed to the pharmacist for help. She pulled up my son's chart and saw that there was a note that the cheaper meds could be prescribed, and quickly made the change. CVS needs to work on better communication. Nobody should be on hold for 45 minutes to speak to a pharmacist. read more

The worst CVS I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Tall blonde female was rude and talked back to me. The manager ignored. When I told her this was one of my worst experiences at CVS she rolled her eyes at me. Avoid at all costs. Awful. They know you need your medication and treat you like subhumans. read more

Arrived at the pharmacy at 10 pm to pick up a prescription that was called in by the patient First near our house. The prescription was ready when I got to the pharmacy counter but I had to wait for the pharmacist to print a new label so that a coupon that I was presenting for a $60 discount could be applied before checking out. It is now 10:48 pm and I'm still waiting for a new label so I can check out. It seems a little ridiculous that it takes 40 minutes to print a new label. I certainly will not be coming back. I had the prescription in my hand and should have just paid the $100 when I had the chance. read more

Script was faxed by doctor today at 10:05 am. I arrive to pick it up and 3.5 hours later it isn't ready. Sitting in the waiting area witnessing many additional upset customers. If I could give it a zero star rating I would. One pharmacist and one assistant on duty. Who staffs two people for the busiest day of the week (Saturday)? One star for the absolutely poor service I received second time around. I was calling about a brand change for a birth control pill which was the brand I had originally asked for but the NP was trying to help me save money. After realizing this brand wasn't working for me and wanted the one I originally requested, I tried to contact the pharmacist who is literally a doorway away from the minute clinic. She was extremely apprehensive about talking to the nurse practitioner which was a different nurse practitioner than the one I saw, but did leave her a message to call me. The nurse practitioner, Nicole, called me and absolutely refused to entertain the idea of switching my remaining refills to the brand of my choice without having to come in and pay another office visit for them to just take my temperature and blood pressure. In her stupidity and my hot temper, she gave me her regional manager's phone number who did not seem happy that her cell phone was given out after hours and that this nurse practitioner was so unwilling to switch my remaining refills as birth control is considered a healthy med not a sick med. Clearly corporate needs to have a discussion with their professional employees about how to treat patients because they don't seem to give a damn about helping them, just making small issues into big ones. I always visit this location as it is literally across the street from my house. They have new self checkout machines in the front. As I'm waiting in line, the cashier gets a phone call and while on her phone call, she told me to use self checkout. I said it only takes cash! She then pointed to the other self checkout that was occupied at the time while remaining on her phone call. I stood in line waiting for the lady occupying the self checkout to complete her purchase while the csr stood there chatting on her phone call. Not happy at all. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. They always seem to "lose" the prescriptions that my doctor sends over virtually. HOW? I am constantly asking them to refill something that the doctor sent over and they refused to do it the first time. For example, my insurance does not pay for tablets so my doctor sent over capsules and they kept deleting the capsules prescription out of my file and kept filling the tablet prescription every month. They are constantly blaming the doctor for it too. I finally demanded to speak to someone in charge and waited at the counter until she deleted the right prescription out of my file. I have recently been prescribed a new medication and it was sent through my doctor as the one my insurance doesnt cover, blah blah blah all things they cannot handle. Well I got a text message saying that a medication I know for a fact was not sent over was ready for pickup. I call the store and ask the automated voice to send me to an actual person. I have been on the phone for nearly 30 minutes, I have called 3 times and I still have not spoken to anyone. Not even a hold please. This is getting really ridiculous. I am sick and tired of this store. NEVER go here. Whenever I go to this particular location for something other than picking up my medications I am NEVER greeted in a friendly manner, the cashiers all have nasty looks on their face and they are always upset when I ask if I can not use the self check out lanes because they are germy. By far the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. I visited this particular CVS 4 times, 3 for me and once for my daughter. Not once did this place have my prescriptions right. I went to go pick up one of my prescriptions that they called and said was ready however, when I got there they had two of the same thing in one bag so I had to wait 15 minutes for them to fix their mistake. The other former time I went there to fill one for my daughter they didn't know how to convert the script for my daughters weight. I also know people who have had several issues with only this CVS. I recommend for your sake go a little further to have a competent pharmacy help you with your needs. read more

Unbelievably rude pharmacy employees. The first time I had a prescription filled, I brought a discount card from the hospital for which I work. The male employee, when I asked him if I could use it replies, "well, I guess if you don't like your price". WHAT? He was attempting to shame me for trying to save money on an expensive medication. The 2nd time, I was also unfortunate enough to have him give me my prescription, rude, indifferent. Eatleast hes consistent. Today, and the last visit I will make as Im moving my prescriptions, another male employee gave me my prescription. When I greeted him with "good morning, Im here to pick up a prescription", he replied with "name?"....Enough. The friend with me even asked what the problem was at this pharmacy. Don't even try to use coupons here. They flat out refuse to use more than half of my manufacturers coupons.

My prescription was scheduled for pick up at 10am Saturday morning. I went to pick it up at 6pm and the pharmacy technician looks me up in the system, she proceeds to yell "ARE YOU HERE FOR YOUR BIRTH CONTROL?" Very loudly! I'm pretty sure the entire store could hear her. She then tells me, "We called you and told you it was out of stock." No one ever called me. And once I told the lady this, she told me well you must not have answered. This still doesn't make sense because why wouldn't you leave a voicemail?? I was very displeased with this pharmacy and won't be back. I transferred my prescription to another pharmacy. read more

On Thursday, November 9, 2017 I phoned the Kempsville Road, CVS pharmacy at 11:17 am and asked that my prescription ordered by my Dr on 11/8 electronically to Costco be transferred to CVS, as per my my new prescription insurance requirements. CVS stated they did not have Costco's phone number and asked me to supply it. CVS staff stated that their pharmacist would have the script transferred and that they would contact me if there were any problems. I phoned CVS at 3:15 pm to check on the status of the script and was told the number I had given them for Costco wasn't valid and therefore they had done nothing to remedy the situation, including phoning me with notification of the matter. I stated that this was poor customer service and the individual immediately obtained Costco's phone number from somewhere and stated that they would call now to have the script transferred and filled. I again phoned at 6:05 pm and was told the pharmacist hadn't called Costco yet because they had been very busy all day and had been "swamped." Costco pharmacy closed at 6pm so I was unable to get my script filled this day. I next phoned 1800SHOPCVS to file a complaint. I was told a supervisor would return my call. I received no return call on 11/9. On 11/10 at 10:15 am I again phoned 1800SHOPCVS and asked to speak with a Supervisor. I was put on hold for 11 minutes and 53 seconds listening to bad music before I hung up. I redialed and was able to speak with someone who took her job seriously and made the necessary calls to another CVS pharmacy nearby to me in order to have my script transferred and filled. I am an RN and have worked in physicians offices. It is a very simple procedure, taking only moments to have a script transferred from one pharmacy to another. CVS pharmacy might have had a busy day, as we all have experienced at our jobs, but this is just a blatant disregard of a customer's need for medication. I'm sure everyone at the Kempsville Road CVS pharmacy made time to go to lunch during their workday on November 9th, while they were "swamped."
