This is the new local flagship store for Kroger. This store is huge!!! This store carries a wide variety of brands with a much different layout than most of their other stores. There are multiple entrances depending on whether you're there for clothing and other durable goods, or just for groceries. I would venture to say there are contrasts to both WalMart and Wegmans. As expected, the store is very clean and it didn't seem to be too crowded for a Saturday afternoon. Very convenient to folks in Okatie, Hardeeville and Sun City. I only came to get St. Louis spare ribs which they unfortunately didn't carry. They were running a special on their baby back ribs instead. I didn't really take a lot of time to peruse through the store, but did see they had a large beer and wine section as well. They also had a much wider selection of items compared to the Towne Center store.

Nice layout for a primarily grocery store. Craft beer, beautiful meats, and good deals... works for me. Staff plentiful and helpful.

I am a little bit disappointed with this grocery store. None of their in-house bread has any ingredients or what it's made out of, etc. so people that have a gluten intolerance, and sensitivity, or dairy allergy or egg allergy they do not have a label and I'm actually quite shocked because I believe that's illegal. According to FDA laws for South Carolina, it would be illegal to have the bread label and how you prepare it without having a proper ingredient list; According to FDA they require you to have a ingredient labels on all the items that you're selling; I asked to the brunette girl at the counter she literally just told me she has no idea and she doesn't know how to find out the information so I will probably not come back to Nantucket meat and Fish market. I understand if she isn't aware but I thought maybe she could like phone a manager or ask somebody but it's like she didn't even want to help. They have a great selection of food along with dry goods, spices. They are a little bit like an upscale fresh market if you have been to the fresh market on the island. 4/10

But it's stuff you can find in other establishments too..... the local reputation you guys are building isn't a good one. Something needs to change.... Soon.

When you enter the store it is clean, the shelves are usually full or being filled and most of all YOU ARE GREETED BY EVERY EMPLOYEE usually with a smile. It is very apparent that ALL the employees in this store enjoy where they work. I have spoken with the manager, assistant managers and employees and have been greeted with a very pleasant hello. If my wife or I need a question answered or assistance finding things the employee will usually stop what they are doing to help us. You are made to feel that no request is too much to ask. Yesterday I spoke with Rob and his assistant and they both went out of their way to accommodate us with a THANK YOU for shopping the store. IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO SHOP. By the way, it is much closer for us to shop the mega store but the experience there is not close to the experience at this store. Mary and I want to thank ALL the employees at this store for their kindness and desire to satisfy us. Les and Mary Riesett

I went to cash a check--a service they advertise offering--and waited about 10 minutes in the customer service area, but no one came to assist me. When I found an employee and asked for help, she told me that it "wasn't her area." I later found out that she was actually the manager of that section. I waited again, and when another customer arrived, the manager immediately came out to assist them. That customer pointed out that I had been waiting first. When I tried to explain that I simply wanted to cash a check, the manager interrupted me before I could even finish speaking and told me that the machine was broken. The fact that the machine was broken was not the main issue. What bothered me was the complete lack of attention, the dismissive attitude, and the way I was spoken to. A manager should be setting an example for good customer service, not making customers feel like they are an inconvenience for asking for help. I left feeling extremely uncomfortable and humiliated. This was a very disappointing experience, and I hope management takes a serious look at how customers are being treated.

They have an a-ok selection of food items, beer, and wine. The employees have been pretty nice on my handful of visits. Pricing is about average for most of the stuff I buy. So, while this is not the top gourmet grocer in the area, I would definitely come back here for a quick and easy pick up of staple items. This store definitely has a better layout and flow than the Kroger at Belfair...which I would not have expected as I am a bit of a grocery store snob, LOL. ;-)
