Wow! The gas prices may be rising, but I only paid $1.83 per gallon just the other day! I just purchase the gift cards which give 4x fuel points. The reason for the downgrade... Be warned that this particular Kroger usually charges 5-10 cents per gallon more than other Krogers, which erodes the value of fuel points, so I usually purchase fuel at other Kroger gas stations (eg, the Kroger on Dorothy Lane). ...then again, it's fun to have a free lunch while munching at all the free tastings ...lol read more

While I once considered this 5-Star Kroger with pride... it now appears to have slid into less than stellar position. Recent apparent change to more appear more "warehouse" rather than "market" has resulted in less appeal to not only this shopper. Again, things/products/groceries repositioned... and somewhat less choices available. Consider the now inferior beer display section; what a joke. Less variety of craft beers. Lacking prices for specialty brews. Misinformation by positing "local brew" for beers made in Maine, California and even in Belgium. What a shame Kroger! What a world of difference in choices/variety and upscale stylet Dorothy Lane. Maybe there is not a market fore craft beer here.. compared to NY's Wegman's... (yet look at all the local/Dayton area craft breweries. Again, am so disappointed in what was a classy market grocery store. No need for me to again (four times) bring this matter up to clerks and folks there at customer service. read more

Great selection of food as well as other things. It is a one stop shop. The only place I will go for my grocery shopping.

I should start by saying that most of the store is fine. Good prices, good checkout service, good quality and excellent produce. That's why it gets three stars. But the $&#@ing deli...oh, the $!#@ing deli. Giving it one star would be a level of generosity worthy of being canonized by the Catholic Church. Why is it so bad? WHY?!!! Well, mostly because it's insanely, mind-bogglingly slow. No, slow doesn't do it justice. Glacial is more like it. No, no, that's not enough, either. It's like it exists in a whole different universe where the laws of space and time are radically different and what seems like an eternity to us is only the blink of an eye to them. I've never seen anything like it. A university should do a study on it. It would be hilarious if it weren't so infuriating. Not even exaggerating one bit here, it takes them about 7-10 minutes per ticket number. That means if they're on 65 and you pick 70, you're probably waiting at least half an hour, more likely 40 or even 50 minutes. I waited half an hour for it to move two freaking spots one time before I gave up and left. And it's not even like they really serve a ticket every 7-10 minutes. Every time you go there they'll call several numbers that have no one there, presumably because they gave up and left. Probably every other time you go you will hear someone complain to the manager about how slow it is, which at this point I can only assume is by design. Nothing could be this crappy on accident. What's particularly frustrating is there will be eight employees behind the counter but somehow they'll usually only be serving two or three customers at a time, the others apparently just digging holes and filling them. But it's not just that. When you do get served it feels like you're watching them in slow motion. I could, no joke, do it faster myself (with zero deli experience other than buying a lot of deli meat) than their whole $%#!ing crew. And it's not like I just had a bad experience. I have given them the benefit of the doubt a ludicrous, borderline moronic amount of times. Every time I think "Hey, I really want some capicola and maybe they've cleaned up their act? There's barely anyone there. It'll be okay this time." No. Never. Not even once. Even the time there was only one other customer I still ended up waiting 23 minutes (I timed it with my phone). My girlfriend one time waited over an hour on a Saturday. I waited with her 15 minutes, then said I was going to do our other shopping, went and did that shopping, then came back, waited some more, then went and browsed a little more, then came back and waited a lot more. Granted, it was a little busy that day (10 tickets ahead of her), but I've seen Penn Mac in Pittsburgh at Christmas crowded like a rock concert and get through 70 customers in that amount of time with same amount of employees behind the counter. And it's not like I'm asking for stellar service. It doesn't have to be that good. I would settle for totally mediocre. What I get, however, is something that could arguably be defined as a crime against humanity. I just want something that doesn't make me want to scream and jump over the counter to beat them with a hard salami. Now, you might be wondering, why don't you just go somewhere else? That's a reasonable question. The reason is because this is Dayton, where most people don't eat anything that can't be bought at a gas station. The only other place in town with a deli that serves anything more exotic than ham is Dorothy Lane Market, which is overpriced and, more importantly, about half an hour from my house. At that point I might as well just go to Jungle Jim's (which is the best grocery store I've ever seen in my life btw and probably my favorite thing in the whole godforsaken state of Ohio), which I often do when I just can't take it anymore. The problem is, deli meat doesn't keep long once sliced, so I can only buy so much and I can only drive the 50 minutes to Jungle Jim's so often. I've actually considered buying my own meat slicer, though, and this Kroger's deli is what drove me to it. read more

Absolute Five Star Kroger! This is a place so classy, you won't mind paying slightly more sometimes for their goods because it is so pleasurable to shop there, in a beautiful store brimming with skylights (ahh) with friendly helpful employees, expansive fresh and organic produce sections, amazing organic food sections, devoted to the healthy lifestyle enthusiast, and seemingly never ending variety of neat things to shop for! This store has a beautiful furniture and decor section, bedding, bath linen, framed art, rugs, toys, even a wine tasting bar! Wow! I adore shopping here, it is by far our favorite place to be when we need groceries right next to Dorothy Lane, which is a bit too far for us to drive sometimes when we're short on time. We just purchased a lovely outdoor fire pit embellished dining table set today and they were so amazingly helpful, loading it into our car, helping us select one, etc. They were wonderful. So many other stores would have passed us around playing "musical employees" with us to pass on the hassle, but today we were served by one person selflessly and we appreciated that so much! Also, this is the only place I know of where I can get the Trident Cinnamon gum without Aspartame added to the Xylitol blend. I don't know why it is so hard to find otherwise, but regardless they have it here consistently. They also have neat car carts for the kiddos, they are so fun! The internal starbucks is well appointed and well placed, relaxing despite being an addition to a grocery store. I also love their kitchen section, which stocks pyrex, small appliances, and my favorite Nordic Ware bakeware, which is super high quality and until now, only available on an online site at similar prices. I love this store! They have such cute kitchen stuff! The only complaints I have for this location are very small in comparison to their many virtues. Number one, they don't keep their kiddo cookies stocked. You know, the free cookies every kid LOVES to get when they have to sit in a cart for a shopping marathon? Yeah, they have a problem of adults taking advantage of them being out and thus have cut way back on the refills. And lastly, they are completely unreliable with keeping their Kale (any kind) in stock. I cannot live without my kale, I go through about 1/2 pound a day (yeah, health nut) so driving a half hour each way to find it missing is a bummer. Luckily they have a lesser location near my home that keeps it overflowing consistently, so my solution has been to go to that one for my Kale and this one for everything else that I don't buy on base. Voila! Problem solved. See? minor problems. Awesome, awesome store! More than highly recommended! read more

This is good for a Krogers. They no longer carry fresh Miso soup however. So that was a bummer last time I stopped in. But it's got a wide variety of products and fresh produce, flowers, a Starbucks, etc. So if you're looking for something and can't find it, you might be able to find a suitable substitute. Unless you really wanted a Whole Foods or Dorothy Lane Market. It's not really one of those, but it's a suitable sub at times. And the produce had always been fresh. Plus they do have sushi! The store. Is Very clean, very quick. The parking lot (drivers) scares me at times, but the clientele do not. A recent bagger there also seemed to be uneducated in how to properly bag groceries, so you may want to watch that. It's a new development so maybe they're trying to cut costs. read more

Where's the local? Grass feed beef from Uruguay? I only saw a small bin of local corn. With all the advertising about local recently I would expect a few tomatoes or squash. Thought I would give them a chance again, just not working for me. This is a very large store, not my preference. read more

The people who work at this Kroger are seriously the nicest and make this Kroger a really nice place to shop-- they even offered to season and bake my turkey for Thanksgiving last year (for free!). read more

This review is for the click list service that is offered at this store. Up until maybe a month ago I would have given them a four star rating, but something is either broken in the ordering system, or the store is just ripping people off for using this service. Not all sale prices are being honored, especially soft drinks, candy and things like butter, etc. I was going to be overcharged on service fee also if I had not caught it. When I contacted Kroger's about this first I was told not all stores participate in the ads. I told them the store is listed on the ad and is on their store's website. Then I was told maybe the ad had not gone into effect yet, I tried it everyday, no changes and have not heard back from Kroger's since. When you bring a problem up that there is a problem with the order they seem like they could care less. They have a policy that if they have to substitute an item, you will be charged the lowest price, this has never happened.I hope the rest of the store is not run like this. Meijer offers same service but fee is higher, but have not had any problem getting sale items at right prices, may have to stick with them. read more

The old Beavercreek Kroger is history and in its place is the new Kroger Marketplace. This is a beautiful store chock full of temptations to spend some money on for dinner. The produce section is wonderful and the many take home food choices are appealing. It also carries furniture and jewelry (!) Parking is a bit better than the old store...oh, and they have a gas station, too. The Starbucks is still here as well, with a comfy seating area. read more

At first I thought it was because I just moved here from NYC and we don't have big grocery stores like this but no this place is just good. Nice selection, large open floor plan, and it really can be a one stop kind of place. A decent wine selection as well. Also there is a starbucks inside although I haven't actually stopped there. Worst experience ever. The lack of compassion for those that need medication in a timely manner is superseded by their drive to push volume of medication. My daughter was diagnosed with strep and was miserable, the physician sent the rx to Kroger electronically and we showed up 25 mins later to pick up. Wait in line about 5 mins, get to the window and I'm asked to come back in 20 mins, it wasn't ready. Okay, annoying, but doable, we needed to pick up lunch anyway. We stop next door grab lunch which took exactly 20 mins, come back. Now the computers are down, the lady at the window for the drive thru says computers are down it will be 10 mins, I said I was just here 20 mins ago when they were working and now I have to wait even longer?! Again, annoying, but then this lady has the nerve to say, sorry, nothing I can do about it, in the most rude way possible. I couldn't believe the way I was treated! I'm trying to stay calm at this point and ask, is it okay if I wait right here for them to come back up? He response was, sorry, there is a long line of cars behind you that I have to notify also. I'm thinking are you kidding me?! For what?! How uncommon is it to wait 10 mins in the pharmacy line? I need to move why? I decide to go in and speak to the manager at this point. I was in the store in 60 seconds. Guess what?! Computers are back up! 60 seconds from me pulling away from the window I was not allowed to wait at. I ask for the manager, same smug attitude as the lady at the window, apologizes with no remorse for how I was treated and when I stated I will not be coming back to this pharmacy she looks at me and says I'm sorry to hear that, and then walks away! Instead of having staff assist the lady up front in checking me out to get me taken care of quicker, again another clue that this pharmacy does not care about their customers, I have to wait another 7 mins to pay and have my amoxicillin mixed, that's right people, this was all for amoxicillin! Krogers in general is not to bad to go to but this one in specific seems off. missing inventory, short staffed, and it needs a bit more cleaning. additionally, the prices are not that great, and the fuel point rewards hardly seem to outweigh that simple fact. finally, the employees didnt seem happy, just that look of pain you see from time to time in peoples eyes. read more
