It was Saturday morning. I was in Fairborn Ohio spending the weekend with my son-in-law, two…read moregrandchildren and daughter. We decided it'd be nice to pick blackberries something that we all love to eat. Before driving here my daughter called to make sure they still had ripe berries to pick. When they run out they close for the day. It only took us a few minutes to get here. We checked in at the office. They gave us 2 baskets to put the berries into. The field had row upon row of blackberry plants. It was a beautiful site! At first my grandson was eating more berries than he was putting into the actual basket. It was great to have the whole place to ourselves except for the one employee that was also out there picking berries. The berries were sweet and delicious. My granddaughter who is now walking also helped to pick berries. About 15 minutes later we had filled two baskets with blackberries and walked back to the office. We paid for two baskets and they gave us an extra basket that the employee had picked. What a great surprise! They were closing for the day and we left to head to another adventure on this beautiful Saturday in September. Until next time stay healthy be kind to each other. #thehomesteadberryfarm #blackberries @yelpcincy #familyfun #yummy

While they don't have an indoor restroom, I was grateful to find they had a very clean port-a-potty. Because that was the very first thing my toddler asked to do! This place is adorable! Their little house where you get your basket and then pay is so sweet!! There are chairs out front by beautiful flowers (talk about perfect for a picture). They provide small wooden baskets that hold two empty cardboard pints. The nice boy at the counter explained what was growing where and we were on our way! We came at a time where blackberries and raspberries were available. I have to say that things were pretty picked over on this particular day - while the bushes were decently loaded with berries, most of them were green. While I enjoyed the hunt this provided, my toddler eventually lost interest. Go figure. We ended up with one pint of blackberries. We visited the raspberry bushes, but there were literally only a handful left. They'd run out over the weekend, so that why we visited on a Wednesday. So make sure you check their facebook page or call ahead in case they close early.

On the train set there is a crawl space and my friends daughter crawled in there, and hit her head hard on 6 large and long screws pointing out of the low ceiling. We went to complain to an employee and try to show them that even though there is a sign that says play at your own risk, that is extremely dangerous, and the crawl space should be blocked off just for safety of children. This man got very upset and huffy and puffy. Was very reluctant to even speak to us, let alone help us. As we walked from the store to the playground he was almost yelling at this point, being so careless and rude to us, explained that HE DID NOT CARE ABOUT THE TODDLERS INJURY BECAUSE HE HAS PEOPLE SUING HIM CURRENTLY AND PEOPLE COMING WEEKLY TO TRY AND SUE HIM. His exact words, and we asked who even are you can we speak to the owner? He PROUDLY stated that he was the owner and then asked us to leave the property. We were so frustrated and felt so ripped off from what was supposed to be a fun experience that we just wanted our money back for the items we purchased. He refused to give us our money back and encouraged us to call the police. We told him we were just going to leave a bad review and he said he would just delete it! Absolute worst customer experience I have ever experienced, and coming from a not so great farm market that claims to have a petting zoo that is really just 3 goats. Don't waste your time to get treated this way.
