The first thing I noticed when I was looking around was how clean it was and the food is really good and the service is great!!

I was pleasantly surprised at the food served here. Soup, sandwiches, and Salads. Individual menus for sandwiches with multiple bread options, wraps, salads, serve your soup, pick out your desserts, and any chips that you would like. Each person gets their menu, which you turn in. They make your food hot and fresh. You pay after your sandwich is made, and you tell them all the side items you picked up throughout the dining area. after you get your freshly made sandwich, they have a full condiment bar to go put your own lettuce, tomato onion, pickles, peppers on your sandwich. The soups and the desserts in the sandwiches are made fresh in-house. The meats and cheese selections are fantastic and the best you will find anywhere. They have selections I can't find anywhere else in the Dayton area. Everything is fresh and the people working in the deli will even give you a sample before you make your purchase. All the produce is fresh and has a better flavor than anything you find in the supermarkets. And, the service and help from all of the employees is fabulous - they are helpful, courteous, knowledgeable and readily available. This place looks almost a German Baptist, and it smells like Evan. It is very rustic, but they have a huge supply. This place is at least competitive with that Dorothy lane. It is a true local market. They make their own fudge. They have a great looking date spot/lunch spot over on one side. The bakery smells so good. The prices are really reasonable too. We stopped here on a lark, but this place looks really really awesome. I'm very glad we did and I know I'm going to get some neat stuff from here. There was a little sign on one of the things saying the store would be closed for a church conference. These people love God, in a godless world. It seems like the whole world is going crazy and evil, and so finding a place like this is a breath of fresh air. My heart sings. I asked one of the cooks about their food and they were more than happy to take their time and describe the ups and downs and the hows of how they make their stuff. This service is solid. I've been coming here for years. I love the fresh breads, cookies, pies and samples they provide. I bring out of town guests to visit your unique store and garden center. They also provide many gluten free products, which I myself use. Its a must stop, at least every 2 weeks. read more

Food was absolutely fantastic. Bought several fresh chicken breast that have no skin and very little fat. Cinnamon blueberry rolls were the best ever tasted. The fudge is so good that I bought a pound got half pound free and ate about half at home. Plants are glorious and beautiful with more blooms than possible. Gotta go ASAP, cuz I'm going back soon. I was driving across Ohio on back roads and happened to look for an Amish market and this place popped up so I thought I would check it out. On the outside it looks kind of big and sprawling. Like you think you were going in Walmart. They have some cool little artifacts and kitschy stuff outside. You walk in and they funnel you through this weird little alcove that has some refrigerators and food in it and I was thinking that was very weird. They also have some soft serve hard candy that you bag and weigh yourself. When you walk inside this is the gold mine of Bulk Foods. I love these places. I love Bulk Foods. I get so much crap that I don't need but I can't help myself. They also had a bakery and I think they were serving some hot food but I didn't try it. I did get two rolls of Amish butter and some almond cheese. They also had a bakery and everything looked pretty good. The store was very Full of stuff. Like it looked big on the outside but it was not big on the inside and the isles are small and there's a lot of people inside so it was almost a bit claustrophobic. There's people milling around in front of the hot food counter ordering their food and there's no way you could have a shopping cart in there so you have to hold one of those arm baskets which gets very heavy very quickly. The people that work there were fairly friendly and I don't even care about all those other things because this is a kick ass amish store and I love them. read more

This review is for their baked goods. They're usually available at the Huber Heights farmer's market on saturdays. Everything i've had was delicious. Their banana breads and zuccini breads are moist and dense. Their cherry pies are not too sweet. Their blackberry pies are also good, but if you don't want seeds, get something else. I went to the Covered Wagon with my mother on her recommendation. Gosh what a pleasant experience! A great place to go for seasonal items in the nursery. I really enjoyed their restaurant items from the broccoli and cheddar soup to the oversized heated ham and cheese on a pretzel bun made to order. Fresh bake goods and packaged items all throughout the place. The fudge is so smooth and delicious and the options are unlike anything I have seen. The people who work here are pretty rude. One time I was looking at the soups and the lady in the kitchen rudely asked, "What do you want?". There's always a lot of people here even though the store itself is tiny. If you want to go to an Amish run shop, then I recommend A Bushel & A Peck. I want to like this quaint Amish store. Let's start with the good. They have a wide variety of spices & other dry goods for baking/cooking. Also, they have some nice food samples to try before you buy. Their sandwiches are good from the deli & reasonably priced. There's nowhere to sit inside so you'll have to wait for warmer weather to sit outside & enjoy your sandwich. Now for the bad. It is small & cramped in this store. The entire time I'm in there attempting to peruse the aisles for unusual products, I'm being bumped & prodded by other equally frustrated shoppers. You're constantly hearing "excuse me" which means someone else also needs to squeeze into the aisle you're shopping. I've shopped a weekday & a weekend but it's still the same cramped & crowded condition. Their deli prices are about 30% higher than other Amish stores I shop. Their pies are good but slightly more expensive than my usual bakery. They are one of the few places that carries shoofly pie but I've learned to call ahead because it's not always in stock. read more

We drove out here to look for kombucha flavorings. I found dried lavender. Besides that, we picked up three kinds of spicy pepper cheeses. Two homemade pies. I was pleased to see they carried chicken which is fed non GMO grain. There were samples of everything! This was my second visit. I'm still giving it a decent review because there are many things they do right. Customer service is awesome etc. I just can't get over how crowded and compact this place is. There is no chance to leisurely browse. You have no choice but to get pushed along with the crowd. Also I purchased a beef and onion cheeseball and after getting it home I saw the sell by date was 01/09/19. I bought this product on 1/23/19.
