This is the best Kroger in the business. It is a gigantic Supermarket with clothes, shoes and everything you can imagine. They have homemade breads and fresh made bakery goods! A great seafood selection & wonderful butcher shop and a fantastic wine selection. This is my go to store. They also have wonderful sales in the back right hand corner; there is always different items for sale. I go there first and then do my shopping. read more

First time at Kroger, most likely last time. Trying to find a product for 10 minutes and no one was around except a cashier and a bagger. The bagger who was a dirt blonde, white old looking lady named Katie was too busy yapping to a customer friend when I asked her for help, she just turned to me with an annoyed expression... No hi or how can I help you... I showed her a picture on the Kroger website and she said "I don't know, should be an aisle there or something... Go find it over there", rolled her eyes and left me alone. Thanks for a rude experience, I guess?? Sorry to intrude on your talk with your friend. Maybe watch some more customer training videos so you can actually treat them nicer instead of playing favorites! Best part was that she seemed very happy when helping other Caucasian folks! I was in self check out she said "thank you, have a good night!" To a group of teenaged Caucasian boys and nothing to me when I was done. Maybe this tells you that she has a bias towards her own skin color!! Shout out to the lovely gentleman who ACTUALLY helped me trying to find the product. Funny enough when I flagged him down, the product was right next to us at a standalone pop up shelf no where NEAR where the aisle is suppose to be, but he still made an effort trying to find more flavors in other aisles! What A Dump! I started shopping here about a year ago because the Teasley/Hickory Creek store is such a dump with terrible service and this store was typically clean and pretty well stocked. Also, service was usually great. No longer the case! I've tried changing up the days I shop but it hasn't helped. Employees usually have a poor attitude and haven't been trained. LOTS of items are poorly stocked, the store is dirty and you never see management present. Given Kroger's price point, this simply shouldn't be the case. I would give 0 stars if I could. When I began shopping at this store in 2015, Mr. Gatlin kept the store well staffed, clean, and stocked. He was a delight. Today I asked the lady at customer service who the new store manager was because a few weeks ago during the holidays, I overheard him yelling at a lady in a red vest and he called her names. She was only defending herself. From what I gathered from a grocery employee, Dan is an absolute jerk to his employees. This employee told me Dan threw a pallet at him. Called him names. How unprofessional. The store isn't stocked well. People yell over the loud speaker. The store's bathrooms almost always have no soap and paper towels. They use toilet tissue from the shelf and store brand soap. The Starbucks is filthy and never staffed. Who is running that place? It's bad. I've seen rats in the store. The coolers are gross. Spills don't get cleaned up in a timely manner. The front end manager is always yelling across the store at her employees. She yelled at one woman for using the bathroom (she was checking me out). This Kroger has struggled for some time. Today, the kid behind the deli counter was sweeping the floor with his gloves on and then reached behind his head to wipe away the sweat. I walked away from what would have been a $25-30 deli purchase given the unsanitary conditions. There were no full tomatoes in the produce section and barely any hamburger patties in the meat section. Folks, this is Memorial Day weekend. Checkout was efficient and there were a few good sales on chips, etc. Praying for an HEB someday. Do better Kroger! read more

Saturday morning I went to get gas and it looked like a trash dump. I am attaching 3 pictures. This is Easter weekend. I called the store early Saturday morning and asked them to pick up the trash as the wind was strong and blowing it everywhere. Went back Sunday afternoon and nothing. Went to pick up some produce - Mark the white haired angry produce person drops a box on me as I walk by. No apology or are you ok? I then stay clear of him but need oranges - he's stocking the shelf so I approach and since I can't reach the stock location I reach into the box he's loading from. He freaks out throws the box upside down on the shelf oranges Hp everywhere and he yells - I don't like it when people touch my box. ‍ Seriously if your having a bad day go home don't attack your shoppers. This store is near my home, so I visit frequently. The staff is always so helpful. They will ask if you need help, are happy to run and get an item or check a price, and extend pleasantries (e.g. good morning, hello, or how are you). The shelves are well stocked and the produce section is well maintained. I just wish they'd carry Holiday grapes.... yummy! I love this store and will continue shopping here. read more

Selection is terrible. Everything is the "Kroger" brand of food. Layout is in-efficient. Deli counter is slow and closed after 4pm. One or two registers open, if you're lucky. Apathetic staff. Sometimes they are not fully stocked and prices are higher than a year ago. Gas rewards are great. 10cents off every $100 you spend. So if you are spending $400 a month you can get 40cents off a gallon. read more

The only reason we occasionally shop here is because grocery stores are few and far between in this area. We'll travel long distances to avoid this Kroger, because it's so incredibly lousy, but sometimes we're forced to due to time constraints. Never again. We'll drive to Austin if we have to, in order to avoid this cesspool of mediocrity. What's so bad about this Kroger, you ask? The deficits are too numerous to list, but here are the highlights ... When they have produce (not always a given), it's old, dried out, expired, shriveled, and rotting, which you can try to sort through while swatting clouds of fruit flies to choose what you'll find to be inedible once you get it home. The shelves are always poorly stocked, and they stack less frequently purchased items up above the shelves, where you can't reach them. You'll find many, many expired items all throughout the store. The cast of misfits they call "employees" seem to have been recruited from some local temporary employment service, or perhaps the local high schools' vocational program for drop outs. Here you'll deal with mean, surly, unhelpful idiots who seem to hate their jobs, who resent customers interrupting their lunch breaks. Yesterday, my wife and I were in a hurry (the only reason we chose to visit this horrible place), and completed our shopping with about twenty items. We headed to the open checkout and placed our items on the conveyor belt while the cashier was finishing up with a customer in front of us. As this cashier completed the transaction with that customer, she turns off her "open" light and walks away, briefly turning around to tell us "I'm closed". Incredulously, my wife and I look at each other and, confused, ask her what we're supposed to do, put all of our items back in our shopping cart and go to another checkout lane? Without answering, the cashier slowly saunters back, whispers to another useless cashier with a "deer in the headlights" look on her face, while we're still asking what to do, explaining that her light was on and our stuff is on the belt. Eventually, after some time, she shuffles back to our lane and reluctantly, with a pissed-off look on her face, finally checks us out. I wish I could say this was an isolated incident, but at this store, this kind of treatment and attitude is the rule rather than the exception. My wife and I have decided that, should we ever be forced to visit this hell hole again, we'll record our experience, because only with said documentation would any normal person believe how bad it is, and what a miserable experience it is to deal with such a backward, low-quality collection of cretins. The young gentleman that was overseeing the self checkout today and yesterday was outstanding. Talk about customer service! He always has a smile on his face and is very personable, yet efficient at his job. He greets every customer and asks them how their day is going. He seems to genuinely care. I had to ask his name on my way out the door and he told me it was Preston. At a time when customer service seems to be lacking at most stores, Preston sets the example on how it should be done. If Krogers keep hiring employees like Preston, I will continue be a loyal customer. read more

Kroger used to be our go to but since they started "pushing" the Kroger brand products at the detriment of brands we desire we have started going to a competitor in Trophy club. We have used the Dillon's/Kristen get stores for 3 decades but are reaching out to theres now. Another thing is that the store has many outbid date items throughout....cookies....crackers... canned goods even. And their produce is a 50/50 chance that you will get home with fresh items instead of black you snide avocadoes, brown lettuce, or watermelon with a tough texture. This is the store I am forced to shop at because there is a shortage of stores close. Used to be a fan but lately things have changed. The produce section often has rotted/ moldy stuff. I sometimes put some of them on the customer service desk as a hint. I regularly purchase bakery goods, favorite is Apple fritters. But for the past 3 days they have sold none nor replaced them, because they are burned! It is ridiculous! I mentioned it to the counter person did not was obvious she did not care. Today it was difficult to find milk that was not on the edge of expiring. For the most part the checker staff are nice. So I always thank them for their service. I find myself returning home good items and clothing to get my discount that they advertise o big yellow signs. You have to look at every item to be sure you get the correct price. I wish they would get the bakery sorted out. Stop burning apple fritters first. read more

Such al lovely store. Then you discover that it is necessary to walk miles going up and down aisles looking for items. Eventually you get to the check-out area and find that there are never more than 2 checkers and lines backed up for the self check-out. Even with huge baskets of groceries, customers have to do self check-out. Very inconvenient and tiring. Unfortunately, there is not another store close enough to use on a regular basis. UPDATE--We are new in this area--I just discovered that a Tom Thumb is about the same distance---they are more expensive, but if they have checkers and folks to bag the groceries, it will be worth the expense! read more

Have been shopping at this store for the last 3 years. Never ceases to amaze me how badly managed the store is. 1) Not too many 'manned' check out counters regardless of how long the lines are . 2) Quite frequently there no carts available and the customer has to go to the parking lot to pick one up themselves 3) They continue to display old 'sale priced' labels on proudcts even after their expired. Leads to unsuspecting customers picking up items that they would otherwise not - many surprises when they hit the register 4) Produce is not always freshly stocked or available 5) Not always the friendliest of employees read more

I would not recommend this Kroger when it comes to reliability of any catering items/pre-orders. I had a dinner party and ordered a premade prime rib to be ready on 12/6 at 2:30. When I arrived at the deli department, I needed to wait over 5 minutes while one gal was just cleaning the deli blade. When I finally asked for assistance, another gal went back to find my order was never placed. I showed her my confirmation and received "sorry". The staff is very pleasant and helpful but the "process" is sloooooow. Checking out from the pharmacy is painful. I also had a prescription refill in their system for 2 weeks. I went to pick it up with some others and was told its on back order. Can i transfer to another Kroger....its out of stock for all krogers. Still not sure why they wouldn't call on that. I have text notifications enabled and the kroger app. I've transferred all my scripts to another pharmacy and they called me within hour to let me know transfer worked and ready to pick up. read more

Buyer beware, do NOT shop at Kroger. They are CROOKS! The Bartonville Kroger and their so-called "manager," Matt Hayden, are HORRIBLE! Clair placed an order, see below, for delivery. As you know, I'm in Houston. The credit card charge says, "KROGER." The delivery should have arrived between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. tonight. We then get a text message saying it's going to be late and will not be delivered at 7:30 p.m. At 8:30 p.m., I call the Bartonville Kroger to find out where my order is. Matt Hayden states that once you pick delivery, it is out of Kroger's hands. They cannot tell me where the order is, what time it will arrive, and they cannot give a refund. He even said this happens often and that Kroger Corporate refuses to fix it. He gives me the number to InstaCart (888-246-7822) and I get some guy on the other side of the world who cannot speak English and cannot find my order. When I ask for a supervisor in the U.S., he refuses. So, I do some digging and notice a phone number at the end of the order (see below) which says I can no longer cancel or modify the order. I call that number (1-800-576-4377) and the automated system says it is "Kroger Customer Connect." I get a live person that identifies himself with Kroger, and, you guessed it, he's on the other side of the world. I ask for a supervisor in the U.S. and he says he cannot guarantee I will get someone in the U.S. He tells me it is too late to cancel the order, refuses to give us a refund because, get this, the order will arrive at 11:30 p.m. tonight, 5 1/2 hours late. I call the store back and Matt Hayden still refuses to correct the issue. He refuses to call his District Manager for assistance because "it's too late to bother her" but it's no problem that our groceries are not being delivered until 11:30 p.m., if they show up at all. He refuses to issue a refund because he claims there is no way to verify that I even placed the order. So, Clair and the kids are home alone, without food, Kroger took our money, and Matt Hayden is giving us the big finger. BARTONVILLE KROGER IS HORRIBLE!!! We have only lived here since March and I am so thrilled yoga e a nice, clean, and new grocery store. Lately they seem to always have samples of some of the sale Kroger items. Great produce area with a substantial organic offering. Usually have everything I need although they were out of Rainier cherries today but they had the dark red ones. If you do not see what you would like in the meat department, ask the butcher chances are he will have something in the back. My mother in law was here wanting some boneless pork chops about 1 1/2 Inch thick and there was none out front but when she asked the butcher he brought out exactly what she was wanting. This particular Kroger has clothes, toys, pharmacy, like a general store. You can literally find whatever you need. I needed some nails to put up a picture recently and bam, they had what I needed. I'm thrilled that this Kroger is my neighborhood grocery store and is less than a mile away. Oh and they also have a pony ride for a penny! My grandson loves it. read more

I am a long time Kroger shopper like 20 years or more but today, 2 things have made me decide not to shop here anymore. 1. During this time of people acting like their shopping for a pandemic I go in to get legs and thighs that are always 69 cents a pound or cheaper and this Kroger doesn't have them. Instead they have all their chicken at 1.99 a pound. All of it, rather it's legs thighs or breasts. Talk about grocery stores now taking advantage of people needing meat. 2. I'm in the produce and some vegetables are not marked. There's 4 people stocking and I asked a gray haired, old, stocker standing right in front of them stocking vegetables how much the cucumbers were. She said " oh I have no idea". I asked her who would. She calls across the produce to one of the other guys there and he says 2-1.00. Ok. So then she proceeds to tell another customer that walked up to her about our short conversation and how rude some people are. REALLY I'm still standing here, getting cucumbers and celery.
