The best Kroger store (Douglas Road) has recently closed its doors. The next closest Kroger store is located on State Bridge Road at Saddlebrook. Disappointingly, this Kroger store has been abjectly mismanaged for years. The store's only redeeming quality, other than one or two exemplary employees, is the select cheese department. Other than that, the store is simply not worth visiting except in desperation. And when a problem arises, good luck getting anyone in store management to respond to a customer's request for assistance via email or phone. A few months ago, this Kroger store became the only Kroger location I have ever shopped at that permits third-party vendors to solicit Kroger customers as they shop. I have noticed up to two, AT&T kiosks within the store that are staffed with harassing sales weasels unabashedly ambushing Kroger guests in an effort to sell AT&T products and services. According to multiple Kroger corporate sources I have corresponded with, the only outside entities permitted on Kroger property to sell their wares to Kroger customers are the Girls Scouts and the Boy Scouts. These organizations are required to set up shop outside the store. So, why is a huge, for-profit, corporate conglomerate such as AT&T allowed to break the rules at this Kroger store? read more

I have been here a few times now. I have definitely been to better and worse Krogers. I like the selection here, especially in the deli, and I like that it never feels crowded, even when busy. I have experienced mostly good and also not-so-nice workers (just one really so far). One time I came in and was in a rush, so even though the self-checkout register I was using said "Card Only," I completed the transaction with my card and then spaced out at the end, asking for cash back due to habit. One of the workers, a nice lady (didn't get her name, but remember her face), came to my aid and still honored the transaction and gave me cash back, with no issues and still remained friendly throughout the exchange. Another time I came in - didn't eat breakfast, just worked out at physical therapy, was uncaffeinated, didn't sleep well the night prior, and my diabetic brain was probably just hanging on for dear life as my sugar dropped lol....I completed my shopping and walk around the store. I decided to go thru the regular checkout line as I was becoming symptomatic and figured I would spare myself the trouble of having to ring everything up. The cashier, who I will not name, asked me if I had a rewards card, then I said yes and I asked her if she wanted me to enter the info. She said no and that at the end would be fine. When I went to pay, the card initially declined because I entered the wrong pin as it is a card I do not use often. I quickly reentered the pin correctly this time and then it went through. Because of my sugar dropping and getting a little embarrassed about entering the wrong pin at first, I almost forgot my cash back I had requested way earlier the first time I tried the transaction. This happens a lot, people forget things, people are not perfect. I was about to walk away with my groceries and she shoots me this look like a death glare and then made some comment to the customer lady behind me, "And THEY wonder why....." Didn't catch the end, but you could tell she was talking smack right in my face yet just soft enough so I couldn't catch all of it. The bag girl was super nice and just handed me the cash per the cashier's instructions but wow. Me forgetting my cash for a second somehow makes it okay to be rude on our first interaction with each other, ever? It wasn't even like a joking or playful comment or look either, the face was straight up rude and snarky. If she had to give attitude she might as well have just pocketed my money, which I imagine was what was implied in whatever she said half under her breath. I don't know what it serves people to be rude to complete strangers. Heaven forbid she make a mistake or forget something smh lol sheesh. So note to self: don't get cash back from here again, do some basic self care and be on my Ps and Qs or certain cashiers are gonna hang me for it lol, and just stick to self checkout altogether, because some people don't know how to be polite or kind when someone is clearly going through something. Now this is what I expect from a Kroger! We are getting cheated with the one by where we live! It is so much les then this locations. You walk in and look to the right and you are welcomed with a huge produce section. Wonderful looking fruits and veggies that like a sirens song will lure you into the depths of their waters... amazing selections of whatever you might be wanting and most likely things you didn't even know you wanted as well but will buy. To the left is a very nice flower section. Well laid out, spacious, vast and fresh. (We bought flowers for the home... just couldn't pass them up.) As my wife and I wandered around we saw a large wine section, a wide selection of cheeses, many possibilities for our charcuterie board, and just so much selection! Again what a major change from the run down rinky-dink location we live down from. This is the place to shop.., however I have to say... Kroger is not priced right! Watch the prices... I am a competitive shopper and in a lot of cases Kroger is way out of line on their pricing. The normal oxy clean was 8$ more then their competition. The kombucha drinks I buy were 1$ more each bottle. Soda is about 2-3$ more per case then the competition. Things like paper towels, toilet paper and paper plates were all more then 20% more as well! Now the selection here is great! But you can really save buy getting your staples at the competitors... be sure you Target your shopping experience to help stretch those $$$! read more

This review is for the Kroger on 10945 State Bridge Rd. Alpharetta. I had the most wonderful experience as a shopper there a few days ago. I've had my eye on a " log" wooden swing for a few weeks ( at many of the Kroger locations) . The Cumming Kroger ( where I usually shop) was not so helpful when I inquired about purchasing the swing. Manager was not " customer friendly" . Nor helpful concerning my questions about swing purchase. I'll stop with the negative right there and switch to my real reason for this post. The State Bridge Kroger ( Customer Service employee Abram and Manager Ben) were SO helpful and cheerful. They definitely made me feel like a valued customer. Ben reduced the price of the swing due to some scratches , wood chipping on base of swing frame, would not allow me to try to help lift , carry and load the swing . They did it for me with a smile and great attitude. Ben even got a blanket from his car so I could wrap the base to ensure it wouldn't scratch during transportation. ( When I return that blanket , I'm bringing homemade fudge as a thank you.) What a great experience! Although your store is not the closest in proximity to my home , I will definitely return ! This store is filthy. The bathroom is horrible. I have seen much cleaner porta potties. Don't I don't see how the employees are getting their hands clean in a filthy bathroom like that before touching stuff the customer I will come in contact with. Hard to find a parking spot close to the door because the employees take up all the close parking spots the rest, the stores on organized dirty. When I complain, I am told the person who cleans the bathroom is on vacation for a week that bathroom has not been cleaned in much more than a week and that is no excuse at all. I need to have somebody else do it if nobody else can do it the manager should be doing it. read more

One register open during a VERY busy period on the weekend. Customers with overflowing carts are not likely to use self checkout. Our guy at the register had no change - which shows extremely poor management to set a guy up unprepared. The smaller Kroger up the road has more registers open to assist customers, which doesn't make sense. read more

I love my Kroger at home so was so happy to see one here. What a mistake. Cashier PUJA must have been in a bad mood. Not friendly. Purchase 2 things from the discounted meats and 162.00 dollars in groceries, one got charged at regular price. And one of them was charged both prices. Went in the next day to customer service Julia, refunded the one that was charged at full price. Would not refund the other one because there was no upc code on the bottom. The regular and discounted price was on the top of the container. I let it go, asked 4 clerks if I could get help getting a frying pan down I wanted to buy. Finally the clerk in the self serve told me to go back to customer service. No one was there. Finally she came back and told me a talk man helping her with customer service to help me. He was very polite and nice. Nicest person in the store. I won't be shopping there again. I understand Pulbic's in a nice store here. read more

Zero carts available. Tripping hazards all over the place. I usually shop this location because I love the gourmet cheese section. I was in the store around 1:00 pm and was perusing the department. There was a woman working in the department and I was never acknowledged after being there for a least five minutes. Suddenly I hear the woman cheerfully greet another female customer, even offered the customer samples of cheese. The other woman finished up her shopping and left the department. I attempted several times to make contact with the "Cheese Master", I think her name tag said Kara Lee, but to no avail. She refused to greet or even make eye contact with me. Someone should tell Ms Cheese Master that she should greet all customers who come into her department and not just those that she deems worthy. The one star is not for the entire store- just for my experience in the cheese department. read more

This is not my usual Kroger store but I have shopped in this one at least a dozen times. My first reactions were that it has many more items than my usual Kroger and it seemed like they had more workers at one time (probably because it is busier than my typical one). Now I find myself in the midst of the pandemic and Kroger to the rescue. My usual Kroger does not offer curbside pickup (thanks for waiving the typical fee, Kroger) but this one did so off I went creating my list online and updating it as we approached my pickup day/time... I appreciated that capability. Now, I have to say it was not easy for me to get a pickup day and time... it took almost a week... but I realize I am not the only one taking advantage of this. Note to Kroger... if you can add more pickup times, it would be so appreciated! It was disappointing that some of my items were not available when I went to pick up but Kroger did a really good job of substituting items that they could (not so great at reading my preferences/notes I left online with each item... oh well). In the end, although not perfect, it was not their fault that items I wanted had sold out. Overall, they did a good job. When I arrived, you pull into a designated parking spot for pick up, call them to let them know you have arrived and tell them what # spot you are parked in. They come out with your order, give you the receipt for your order (which will indicate if anything was substituted). They load the items into your car and you are on your way. I wish Kroger would require their employees to wear protective items to protect everyone. The two who brought my items out were very nice. When I returned home, I noticed there was an item I originally ordered that was not fulfilled... I assume it must have been sold out, too, but I was not made aware of that prior (maybe it had just sold out). Overall, thank you Kroger for offering this service at such a crazy time and helping keep those who are at risk (or those who deal with someone who is at risk) safer by picking up groceries curbside. This is an update to my last review, which was one of the worst I've written ... but well warranted. At the same time, I believe in giving credit where it's due. These folks really listened. The store is back to its neat and crisp state, fully stocked, fresh, and the team members are friendlier and more engaged with the customers. Thank you Kroger! Oh my heavens! What is going on here?! I've been a loyal customer for three years and I have never before seen the store in the despicable condition it's been in for the past three or more months! The staff: I see a lot of new faces and each one is ruder and unwilling to help. The store : filthy filthy filthy! Groceries: what groceries?! Their shelves are literally barren! This goes for all departments except the gourmet cheese department. Produce: as can be seen in the pictures, they barely have ANY of the daily necessities! The shelves are empty and I'd there does happen to be stock it's usually rotten or outdated. There is a new associate in the produce department who is ruder, arrogant, not eager to help, and worse than anything, he is LOUD and OBNOXIOUS! He yells across the store to other associates or speaks on his cell phone, ignoring the customers! This is SAD! WHAT US GOING OK HERE?! I MIST HAVE SEARCHED 20 MINUTES FOR ONE CAN OF BEANS! NO BEANS? NO BANANAS? NO CUCUMBERS? This store has steadily gone down hill the past quarter. To top off my night, the cashier was extremely rude and condescending! I asked a simple question as to why the store was empty every time I.came. He looked at me as if u had two horns and said, we'll honey if you watched the news you wouldn't be asking that question! Some facts you need to know about Kroger: 1. Kroger is dirty. While managers are trying to keep the front end clean, the back rooms have roaches and mice in them, tasting your food at nights. 2. Kroger treats people like s**t. 2 months ago my wife observed the deli clerk spitting in the potato salad. When she asked why he had done that, he said because he was not paid enough. 3. Kroger is NOT safe. Most products are stored in unacceptable conditions. I have a love/hate relationship with my Kroger over the years. Currently we're in love, but when it ticks me off I completely cross it off my list. What irks me in a grocery store is lack of cleanliness and this is where my Kroger fails me most. However, lately it's been very clean and I'm pleased to see that. The pharmacy is great at this location. Unfortunately, they all know me well and I can count on not having to wait long. Especially, when I clearly am not feeling well. Also, they take the time to answer any and all questions related to your medication. I'm not really a fan of the deli, but I have to go there. I'm not sure why it takes FOREVER every single time. There can be 2 people or 20, it's will take the same amount of time. I'm not sure why because there are at least 7 slicers, and several people working, but they move soooooooo slow. I'm more inclined to grab produce form here because it's always fresh and cheaper than some of the nearby competitors. But, I can't always find everything I need in stock. It's not unusual for me to ask the clerks to grab stuff from the back. I remember when this Kroger opened over 20 years ago and I still prefer it over other Kroger locations in the area....when they haven't pissed me off. LOL read more

FLORAL DEPARTMENT: TOPS ON MY LIST Several months ago I started looking for a floral designer to prepare a special arrangement. I went into several stores and noticed that they all had one thing in common: little to no flowers to show. I was just referred to their album or asked to return at another time when the person who actually designed the arrangements was present. Flower shops today are just call centers waiting to take phone orders. They seem to just order as needed and not really stock flowers on the regular. The exception would be the high volume shops that have a large walk-in business. On the other hand, every time I walk into this particular Kroger, I see lots of flowers in bright and bold colors. I always have to touch them to make sure that they are real because they always look so perfect, (fresh and bright). It suddenly occurs to me that since I have been so disappointed with the other local florists, I should try the Kroger florist. My daughter and I visit with Ms. Lin, (the Floral Manager) and we like her right away. She was not able to do exactly what we wanted but it didn't matter because we really liked her and if we vibe with you, it's a go! At this point, she could have brought out the Charlie Brown Christmas tree (as her greatest work), and she still would have been hired. At the time, we simply said okay when she was not able to execute our vision and quietly left the store. I instantly knew that we were on the same page because my daughter and I actually share the same brain. Talking to me is like talking to her is like talking to me. Get it? As we exit the store we turn and look at each other and just say Okay, we want her. Done! We would simply adjust our plans in order to work with her. Several weeks later I return to see Ms. Lin. We talk about what I want and she has nice ideas and even gives me a demonstration of what she can do to make sure I get what I want. She offers to send me a photo of the flowers once they are completed and since I am concerned about them being fresh, (because I am picking them up the day before the event), she assures me that they will be fine because they will be made from the fresh shipment arriving soon and stored in the cooler. This will allow me to pick them up at my convenience. Now that's some customer service! I had expected to pick my flowers up in the afternoon but was not able to due to my schedule. I arrived around 5pm and they were there waiting for me. Apparently the other employee had grown concerned because she thought that they would be picked up by 2pm, (when I simply though they would be ready by 2pm). This was a slight miscommunication but understandable when dealing with different people. No problem! The flowers were waiting and they were perfect. She nailed the color and we were very pleased. I apologized for the misunderstanding and went on my way. That was so easy and stress free. Why would I ever go into another free-standing flower shop that is poorly staffed and has no product on display! Never again! If you want a shop that is always staffed, has convenient hours, regularly stocks fresh flowers and provides GREAT customer service and great prices as well, this Kroger Floral Department is a clear winner! read more

Avocados there are always molding and the corn I got 2 weeks ago had bugs in them at some point-I had to throw them away. I've tried this Kroger several times and had been consistently disappointed. There is NO customer service! If you need help finding something in the store you are just SOL. The cashiers at the registers don't exactly inspire a warm fuzzy feeling either. There is 0 greeting, you can complete your entire transaction in complete silence. I started going to the self-check registers to avoid this aggravation. Turns out its not a while lot better with those. Machine messed up, need help? Can ya find any? Just a few days ago a I ran a pack of granola bars across the scanner and the machine said it was a restricted item, ID was needed. I looked around, in vain, for help. I finally had to move all of my stuff to a different register and just leave the granola bars behind (you lost a sale, Kroger). As I was leaving one of the young women that had been chatting with other cashiers across the store walked over to man her post in front of the self checkout area. Talk about upset! I had caught this girls eye earlier hoping she would come help me, I didn't even know it was her job!! I just figured if she wasn't busy she could come over. Add this to the super terrible store layout that makes it so difficult to find things, ie water flavorings not located with water, and it's a miserable experience. Ever since the remodel we can't find anything! All of the health food brands are now mixed in with everything and it is incredibly frustrating! I can't tell you just how many people ran into us or almost did because they obviously can't find what they're looking for either. I even went on Kroger's app to see if it could tell me where to find items and it was wrong every single time! The employees even seem much snappier and somewhat aggressive in a few cases. I think we'll be switching over to the Kroger on Old Alabama. Honestly, we should have made the switch back when we saw a used condom by the cart return or the multiple times there were panhandlers outside the entrance. read more

Ugh! First time trying this Kroger and it will be my last. The mid-aged Indian woman working the deli counter has ZERO customer service skills. She was chatting with her co-worker with her back facing the deli counter so I said "Excuse me..." She mumbled something and waved her hand and kept chatting and writing something... completely blowing me off. I waited... then I said again more sternly "Excuse me, I'd like to place an order" She doesn't even turn around to look at me. She just says "just a minute" and continues talking to her co-worker. I was like WTF? What's more important than taking a customers order. Absolute WORST customer service I've ever experienced at a Kroger. Totally rude. So I just moved on and didn't even place my order. I wasn't giving her the satisfaction. Kroger just lost some money and a future customer. Also, they carried no organic peaches and no organic strawberries, Major fail since it's summer time and they are both in season right now. Also no lactose free organic milk. There was no designated organic section like the other Kroger on Douglas Rd. I actually like that one more even though it too got low reviews as well. I found that one easier to shop in. There were a handful of other employees (re-stocking meat, freezer aisle and the check-out) all friendly at this store that seemed nice and helped me find thing. read more

Recently I have been using this Kroger's new way of purchasing groceries called Quicklist. And man has it been a shit show. Everytime I go they never have the order correct or ready. Literally they ask me to come back in thirty minutes and it's like that is the perfect amount of time where I can't go home because of distance so instead I either sit in a hot parking lot and wait or drive around and waste gas. Noted this has happened three times now. AND NOW they charge me twenty dollars extra on my most recent purchase and don't even take my coupons. My receipt said $163 and yet my bank statement says $187. But to top it off, whenever I call the store to state my issue they can't even bother to pickup the phone because no one is in any of the departments. To think my family being customers for twenty years gets shit on this much. What a joke read more

I don't think I am going to try it again.
