Herbed chilean sea bass with horta and white beans

One of the best restaurants in Houston is Kriti's Kitchen. We discovered this wonderful place through a friend at church during Covid. We ordered take-out and every dish was delicious. Convenient free parking is another advantage over other fine dining locations. Today, I ordered the seafood special , Herbed Chilean Sea Bass over horta and white beans. What a fantastic dish! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Vegetarian and gluten free menu options are available. Take a look at the freezer and fridge items. Family favorites are spanokopita and chicken souvlaki. Baklava cookies and almond shortbreads offer something sweet after a savory meal.

    Meat Mezze

For all the times I've been in this complex (probably too distracted by Homegoods), I can't believe I've never noticed this Greek spot! The inside was so cute with all the details of Greece. I was wanting something lighter and healthier for lunch and am so glad Kriti Kitchen came up on my search. We got the Meat Mezze board and Moussaka to share. The chicken kabob and meatballs were both so tender, juicy, and flavorful. The pickled cucumbers. carrots (pickled cumin flavor ?), and dip complimented the savoriness of the meats well. I've never tried Moussaka before, but I know I will be craving this dish! It's basically an eggplant lasagna with ground beef. Served with perfectly toasted bread on the side. Can't wait to come back to try more dishes! Also nice to know that there's grab and go options that can be reheated at home.

I ordered the gluten free chicken wrap with okra to-go. It was hot and fresh. Very good.

    Beef Keftedes & Quinoa Keftedes

Let me just say, ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! I got the regular beef keftedes and my sister got the quinoa & sweet potato keftedes and they were just so tasty! The sauce that came with both (I believe mine was tzatziki and not sure what sauce my sister had) complimented each keftedes. We also got the lemon potatos (not pictured) and they had the perfect amount of lemon flavor to them! The restaurant was quaint but cute, and the staff was friendly. I will be back soon

    Briami
    Alexandra K.

A small cute and easy to shop place with food ready to take home and bake. I got the Briami, which took 20 min to heat at home, and the Galaktoboureko. The Briami was a yummy vegetable dish with quite a bit of flavor. I wasn't the biggest fan but that might be because I thought it needed a bit more salt. All together it was easy to make, inexpensive and tasted fine. The Galaktoboureko was honestly not my cup of tea. It's was like a thick layer of something dairy related between flakey pastry sheets but just too milky for my preference. This was the first time I've ever had this dish so I have no idea if it was authentic or true to flavor. Overall the staff was very kind and the checkout experience was great.

Casual dining ambience, very high food quality, very tasty and fantastic options for the health conscious. Had several great gluten free options as well. Very nice staff. Will definitely be back.

The interior is SO cute. Very bright and transports you to Greece. The food was also yum! They also prepare ready-made meals that you can pop in and grab. Meat board: The chicken and beef meatballs were tender, juicy & spiced so nicely. The vegetables on the board paired well with the meats. The carrots had a sweet cumin flavor, and the cucumbers were acidic and crunchy. The smoked eggplant dip added a smooth & creamy element. The moussaka reminded me of a shepherd's pie but with a savory cinnamon flavor.

    Scrambled Eggs with Feta

Had a great lunch at Kriti Kitchen. The food was perfectly prepared with a lovely presentation. Employees are very friendly and will provide selection recommendations upon request. My daughter and I had the new menu item Veg Papoutsakia (we split it), the roasted vegetable wrap and 2 scrambled eggs with feta. I'd highly recommend this restaurant - they also have a large selection of family meals - this is our normal approach.

heat and eat keftedes and tiropita, pitas and salad are homemade
    Vicki L.

Found this place on Yelp while searching for new Greek places to try so I decided to stop by and grab some of the heat and eat dishes for dinner! We got the keftedes, frozen tiropita and a mint lemonade. The lemonade was tart and refreshing, really great for a hot day in Texas. Both dishes had clear instructions on how to reheat and also listed the ingredients that were in them. The food tasted super authentic and were seasoned well. I served the keftedes with some homemade pita and a Greek salad that I made and it was a really nice and filling dinner. The interior was small but very clean and there was a cute mural on the wall. I plan on coming back to try the food on the cafe menu as well as their other heat and eat dishes!

Our private menu. Everything on this menu was so good! I want my birthday here too!

Thankfully, my friend had called ahead and asked for a table as we were rolling about 7 folks deep, and we were seated instantly. The place is pretty nondescript located in the same shopping strip as a gas station. They serve your standard Greek fare, but they also get creative and serve things a different way. For instance, we ordered the Greek fajitas, which was pieces of gyro meat with bell peppers, and onions served on a hot sizzling plate. It was very similar to going somewhere and ordering a Gyro plate, but I appreciated the way it was served. The meat was tender and so well seasoned. In my opinion it's hard to get Gyros right, it's easy to dry it out, and often it's too salty. That's not the case here! Around the table people ordered a slew of diverse dishes, and the clear winner was the lamb shank! Next time we go we're getting that. The person who owns this place is incredibly sweet, there was a birthday party at the table next to us, and she came by to us, introduced herself, and explained that when they drop plates to celebrate we are to join in, and yell Opa! Love that some places still do this, it's a cute tradition! Can't wait to go through more of the menu and try again, next time I'm up for a trek!

All 3 meals were really flavorful, good quality, really well-seasoned, very juicy and so delicious. The gyros and burger are without question imo the best in TX. Ekko's and Nick The Greek are 2nd n 3rd for Greek food for me. I always got the gyros sandwich as opposed to the plate before which is odd bc I always prefer meat plates over sandwich form in other foods like bbq, steak, etc. The meat pieces were all really tasty and had some slight char to them too. The taziki sauce is always cold, creamy in feel and refreshing with a good yogurt aroma to it. It's a great bonus and the gyros didn't even need it tbh. The tomatoes were nicely refreshing and the exotic, cool center dolma is always a little treat with meals here. The rice and chunky lemon potatoes with my meals were always mild but still great in texture and prep. As I said before; from my experiences in every single Greek cafe, if the taziki sauce is good, the gyros will be too. It's a solid symptom and indicator imo. As for the burger, very rarely are burger places only in TX actually any good for the past 15 years. So many are just average or below lacking seasoning or a great overall flavor. Niko Niko's, Goode Company Hamburgers and TX Hamburger Palace are my top 3 in that order for it. Each different too. The brioche buns were just the right thickness and very soft to make the beef patty stick out well. The patty was so nice in charbroiled taste, saltiness, richness, beefiness and tender in every bite. A good burger doesn't need much in toppings, but cool, refreshing, tomatoes are a must for me and pickles add some tangy crunch too. For steak rare, but for a burger medium to medium rare. I had never seen or heard of their Greek Spaghetti n Meat Sauce before. This was like a Greek Bolognese with a lot of love in its flavor. The noodles were drained, very moist and so soft. I don't like too much cheese, so I took some off, but still like some. The meat sauce gravy itself was really flavorful, savory, fatty enough and had that subtle sweet, warm spice aroma you get in the Greek lasagna. I like to get dessert here sometimes when I have extra room, bc they have some great options like their galaktobourreko, chocolate ganache cake, etc. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient on these visits.

While the wine selection and date friendly vibes were good selling points, the subpar service, high prices, and average food made for a less than stellar experience. These factors likely contributed to their recent closure, which is unfortunate. The interior was modern and intimate. High ceilings and large mirrors made the place feel more spacious than it was. It was a nice vibe that made the place visually appealing and date friendly. The brick walls, nice decor pieces, and ultra clean bathrooms were a big thumbs up. But vibes can't save poorly executed food. The octopus was dry and overcooked, the potato croquettes were a bit disappointing, as was, the trio of of dips. The souvlaki was supposed to be their most popular dish, but after trying their ribeye, pork, and chicken, it was simply too bland and not up to par. The gyro platters did not fare much better and the lamb chops were under seasoned. The lemon potatoes needed way more lemon but the only dish that was acceptable was the spanakopita (aka spinach pie). It was all overpriced, especially given the modest portions. Service was often aloof or nowhere to be found. When the nice woman butchered souvlaki and spanakopita, my gut was already in cringe. At least there was discount for cash. While I am saddened by their departure, I take comfort in knowing there are better options available in the city.

Sitting at the bar, we had a really fun time--the bartender had some impressive magic tricks up his sleeve. The excellent (and unique) service paired with a caviar mini-tini, some of the best salads (greek salad and green salad), eggplant carpaccio, grilled halloumi... seriously, we had a memorable dining experience.
