Well, here's a quick backstory. I asked my nephew that I wanted to take his father, my…read morebrother-in-law out to dinner because my sister had recently passed away. Brad, my nephew, who is not a foodie, wanted to pick a restaurant that was reasonably close to all of us. He decided on Hungry's in the village. I said fine only because I wanted to take Melvin out and food was not the important criteria. Ok, about the restaurant. In a word, the food was in the pedestrian class of places that I would have picked. Looking at the menu beforehand I looked for something that the restaurant couldn't screw up. My three choices were Meatloaf with mash potatoes and green beans, Chicken Fried Steak with mash potatoes and green beans, and Chicken Pot Pie with yes you guessed it. Melvin went for the meatloaf, Brad chose a meat and chicken kabob that I hope was better than it looked, and my wife, a.k.a.,Love Muffin chose the trout that was smothered with Pineapple salsa and other stuff Personally, I don't like food that is smothered in anything. The food, as I expected, was mediocre. The waitstaff were very friendly, polite, and came right away after noticing all our waving hands that were visible over a lot of empty tables. The only redeeming quality was that for the four of us the bill was $155.00 including wine. As they say, you get what you pay for. It's not fine dining but if you have a large family and a budget, you can't go wrong with Hungry's for dinner.

Our group of 5 was able to snag the lone round table, but there was still plenty of room in general. The menu was much more vast than I expected, ranging from affordable, light, brunchy plates to pricey entrees, as well as breakfast, lunch, and brunch. Truly something for everyone. The fries looked scrumptious in Yelp photos, so I went with the vegetarian omelette with a side of fries. I was so pleased with the whole meal...I did not leave a single bite behind. And it only cost $12! I really enjoyed the aioli with the fries. These were not frozen fries, that's for sure. The omelette was perfect! It was packed full of sautéed onions, mushroom, bell peppers, tomatoes, and cheese. We split a crepe for dessert with chocolate, strawberries, and whipped cream. It was the perfect dessert because it wasn't too heavy, but yet the crepe had substance. Our server was polite and the ambiance was quaint. There were lots of antique-looking clocks on top of the bar, which was really cool. Also the restaurant was not loud by any means, which is exceedingly rare nowadays. Our whole group enjoyed our meal, and it was so nice to try somewhere different. I'm definitely going to bring others to try Cafe Brussels, and would definitely recommend it for groups.

After being seated we were each presented with the HRW lunch menu that was priced at $25 for a 2 course meal. I chose the tomato basil soup to start with and then the penne rustica for the main dish. The soup arrived shortly after and it tasted fresh and rich with some basil added. I enjoyed it. Later the pasta dish arrived with Italian sausage and mushrooms mixed together with some tomato cream sauce and of course the penne pasta. It was a very good tasting and satisfying meal. Our table service was very good and we all agreed that it was a fine meal.

This guy went into a 5-10 lecture about how this expensive water was best for people in Texas heat to drink. I finally had to cut him off and tell him that I just wanted some free tap water with ice. Then I ordered a HH drink and the same guy tried to upsell me on a better bourbon and to get my drink smoked as it was the best experience. Again I had to cut him off and tell him that I was there to enjoy HH and so Zi wanted to just order a HH drink and some appetizer. The drink was good but the appetizer was over priced. I am not sure if I would return here as the food was average and over priced. And I hate going to restaurants that try to upsell me on stuff.

I was particularly interested by the Indian fusion concept. We arrived right at the start of Happy Hour on a Friday evening. We were surprised to be the only diners there - though I will say, this is a difficult spot to access! Driving here involved quite a few u-turns. There's some parking available right next to the restaurant, which has a patio . The inside is spacious with ample seating - high tops and regular tables. A host quickly seated us, and our server explained the happy hour and regular menu to us. We decided on the paratha smash burger, spaghetti bolognese, and for drinks the lusty monk and mango uncensored. Our drinks came first - we thoroughly enjoyed the lusty monk which was essentially a spiced margarita. The mango uncensored was more of a miss - it tasted nice but seemed a bit bland for a full-price cocktail. It comes with a small piece of mango sweet on top of the ice cube which didn't do much for me. Now the food - which was fantastic. The standout here was the paratha smash burger - I've never tried a paratha burger and I absolutely loved it!! The meat was seasoned very well and I loved the onion and cheese pairing as well. The paratha was buttery and went so nicely with the rest of the ingredients. The masala fries were crisp and made a lovely pairing with the chutney. The spaghetti bolognese was also very tasty - the keema was nicely seasoned and I also enjoyed the cheesy garlic bread that comes with it. That being said, the bolognese didn't strike me as a particularly impressive or unique dish, though the flavors were excellent. We've been talking about making the drive out here again soon to try more items from their menu!

I think the lamb chops were tastier - naan - good, nothing special Ambiance: perfect for a date night or more upscale outing. Very chilly so I recommend dressing warm. Service: the food took awhile to come out. The owner/manager came to each table at least 3 times to check up which was a bit much. The parm is salty cheesy goodness & the bacon is sweet and warm. Perfectly balance. I had the black truffle hamachi I think which was okayyyy not a highlight here. The fish didn't melt in the mouth - I've had better. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes. Nicely decorated, clean & bright perfect for a conversational brunch (no loud DJ).
