A mess of heavenly cheese curds
Patrick S.

First time there and I'm hooked. Great customer service, tasty food and I got to say the cheese curds with that spicy sauce was on point! I ate it all before I could even take a picture I will post some next time I go back because I will definitely be back! I had the smash burger and a side of a half order of cheese curds which I regret now not getting a full order! Update went back and got the fried dill pickles! and a full order of cheese curds and a Philly (feeling fat but who cares!)

Set up

What an amazing company. We had the privilege of hosting a training event at our office and we decided to use Kristy's Down Home Cookin' . I have to say that they knocked out shoes off with the level of customer service provided. 10 out of 10 stars!!! Thank you so much to Kristy's for what you did.

My chicken sandwich was dry and fries were just ok. Service was good. Will give it one more try but next time it will be a burger and tots.

Bringing together a bunch of different food styles, and just making a great spot to hang out. This has a great ambiance and atmosphere, with the vendors and some seeting downstairs, and most of the seating located in a loft above, overlooking the floor below. The selections here are also a really cool mix of things. The main restaurants are a Ramen and Izakay spot, a place of Indian curry, and a Mexican food space. And in addition to those, there is a full bar, along with a small coffee counter right near the entrance. We stopped by on a Saturday evening, after a day of exploring, and were glad for such a fun little joint. If you are downtown, you can easily take the street car over, or just walk, but there are precious few parking spaces nearby. Service seems pretty chill, for the most part, through this is a place you bus your own tables and such. And the prices we paid for our meal were decent, on the whole. So yeah, an enjoyable little place, with lots of big choices. Definitely worth coming back to.

There's a decent variety of about a dozen different businesses here, from donuts, to ramen to Indian, Thai, and more, plus a bar at the center. There's also always a line for just about everything, particularly the booze, so come prepared and patient. Seating can be a bit of a musical chairs-esque scramble as well, but that only further attests to the quality and popularity of this place. Don't overlook it as I did...pop in and see for yourself! The noodles at Matsunoki Ramen in particular are not to be missed!

The location is not ideal in terms of access and some of the typical challenges you would expect in downtown Portland. Otherwise, it's a fun experience for an occasional visit and the food options are plentiful. There are about eight food concepts in total on the perimeter of the building with a main bar in the center. I went with a rice bowl from one spot and had a few of the mini donuts from the other location for dessert. I also saw a Thai food concept, a smoothie bar and a ramen spot. There are a lot of different seating options available, but none of them are particularly comfortable. When I went for dinner, the place was only about half full and the trash area was a little bit unkempt. Parking is available on the street or in adjacent lots but everything is paid during typical daytime hours from about 8 AM until about 7 PM. The bathrooms do require an access code but are available on site. Personally, I feel like this place had a bit more clout when it first opened before the pandemic. But, it still has some relevance and it's a great spot for a casual meal just because of the variety of options that are available. If you come with a group, everyone can try what they like. Overall, a good showcase of some under the radar food establishments that conglomerate in a fun shared space. Check it out!

Let's get into it. Right off I-205 and just a short cruise up into Happy Valley, this spot feels like the food cart scene finally put on a clean shirt and got its life together. It's modern, it's polished, and it sits in a neighborhood where you don't feel like you need to keep your head on a swivel. No chaos, no nonsense just good eats and a relaxed vibe. What makes this place stand out? Options. A ridiculous amount of them. This isn't a "hope everyone agrees on tacos" situation. This is a "you get what you want, I get what I want, and we all win" kind of place. I've officially made it my mission few days left to try as many carts as humanly possible. Call it a food tour, call it a personal challenge, call it reckless ambition... I'm doing it anyway. We kicked things off at K-Pop Korean Hawaiian BBQ-because when you roll with a buddy from Hawaii, that's basically law. And let me tell you, it delivers. Bold flavors, solid portions, and that perfect fusion vibe that just works. Honestly, it set the bar high and that's saying something, because every cart here seems to bring their A-game. The setup is dialed in too. Covered seating for those rainy Oregon days, indoor space when winter decides to show up with attitude, and open-air areas when you want to sip a little wine or knock back a cold brew like a civilized adult. Surrounded by trees and mountain views, it almost tricks you into thinking you planned something outdoorsy... when really, you just came to eat. And here's the kicker it's clean. Like, noticeably clean. The carts look new, the area is well kept, and the whole place feels intentional. Not slapped together. Not gritty. This is food carting with standards. If you're local, you already know. If you're passing through, put this at the top of your list. And if you're doing a full-on food truck tour? Start here. Set the tone right. Because trust me after this, when you head back downtown and start dodging zombies and chaos... you'll miss this place real quick.

There are departmental store like JC Penny, Macy's, Nordstrom and a huge Dick's store. Few other unique places to me were Din Tai Fung and 85C Bakery Cafe. It's popular destination for tourists' shopping since there's no sales tax. The common spaces are wide, clean and have lots of open sky windows. There are plenty of sitting spots available as well for guests. We were in the mall for about 5 hours. We shopped in the Lego store, Tumi, VS, Dick's, 85C Bakery, and BoxLunch. We had friendly interactions from staff members in the all the stores. We also went to the food court on second floor, which was underwhelming compared to rest of the mall. The dining space had old tiles on the floor, the chair and tables were basic ones. There were 10-12 stores available offering a variety of cuisines. The food was decent from couple of stores we tried. Prices were little bit expensive. Overall we had wonderful half day spent shopping and dining at this mall. There was a good mix of popular and luxurious brands, offering wide range of products. The food court could use some facelift to match with rest of the wonderful interior of the mall.
