On a long drive, this was a welcome sight. Not being from Maine, or anywhere even close, had no idea we wouldn't have any food options on our way toward North Conway, NH. We were ready to settle for anything. And there, like a light shining down from heaven, were those outdoor Costco lights lighting a patio and inviting us to eat at this little gem. As there were a total of 4 cars on the street that night, we figured we'd walk right in. Apparently their reservations were booked up for the whole night. Wow this place must be good. Fortunately we were able to sit at the bar and eat a delicious burger and a glass of wine. It worked out great. Loved the ambiance. Loved the food. I doubt I'll find myself in Cornish, Maine again in my life, but if I do, I hope Krista's is still around. read more

No customer service. We made reservations for thanksgiving dinner. The restaurant called us the day before asking us to come In earlier because they had cancellations. Clearly other people knew how terrible their customer service is... we arrived five min before our reservation and were told to hang out while another table was leaving. We had drinks, which we happily paid for. Then we kept waiting. The team at Kristas offered no info about when we would eat. This is after twenty mins and a lot of asking. FINALLY we asked for some bread PLEASE because we had already completed changed out schedule to accommodate this ungrateful restaurant. They gave us bread and didn't offer water or complimentary drinks or nothing. Instead they offered us a garbage table they weren't even seating people at. We said no. Another twenty min and nothing. We talked to a manager named Michele whose leadership apathy trickles down to all team members and she said she was sorry they couldn't do anything. So thank you to Kristas for absolutely ruining our thanksgiving and losing who were lifelong customers. 4 of us went to the Sunday brunch. We were told that to avoid a lengthy wait we should plan to arrive after 10:30. We did and were seated promptly. This is a rather large restaurant but it "rambles" so it seems almost intimate despite its size. Once seated, our waitress arrived almost immediately. The menu is a bit overwhelming and she really helped us through it and also told of the 4 or so "specials" being offered. She was a wonderful server and was attentive throughout our meal. I had 1 of the specials - eggs Benedict served over 2 sausage patties and sautéed vegetables - along with a huge side of fried potatoes. I've got a good appetite but was only able to eat about 50% of the serving. I found this entray to be exactly as advertised - but simply too large for me - a smaller portion would have been preferable. 2 of our party had poached eggs over grilled vegetables. The 4th person in our group had a western omelette- again, a substantial portion. Would definitely give this restaurant extremely high marks and we'll return again this summer. read more

I have been to Kristas on numerous occasions and have dubbed it "my happy place"... The food is excellent and the service is TOP NOTCH. That said, my favorite thing about Kristas is the hand crafted cocktails. I can't go without having their signature Maine Blueberry Martini. I had Beef Stroganoff with butternut squash ravioli, first the beef was stew beef overcooked, dry and braised. The ravioli was not in any way a compliment to the beef. It should not be STEW BEEF. And this is not the way to make Beef Stroganoff. Terrible Meal! My husband ordered Prime Rib and it was very difficult to slice as it was served in a bowl. The steak knife was useless. New silverware would be a big improvement. Finally, this is the second time I have been harassed by a FLY, it was constant, between our table and the one next to us. P.S. The table next to us, one of the ladies ordered corned beef sandwich, it came without corned beef. There was no apology, the waitress laughed and we could hear the kitchen staff laughing also! Seriously! I will have to wait a long time before I go back. Just not good. read more

My husband and I love this place! It is the best food in our area and the experience is always great. We love to sit and enjoy a drink at the bar or split a bottle of wine on the patio in summer watching the tourists shop. I bring friends here whenever I get the chance. read more

I like this place. The service is great, once you can get past the hostess ( who was very scattered). The fried brussel sprouts are amazing should definitely be tried. I like the chicken presto sandwich but was disappointed this time around as the chicken was pretty dry. My husband has the halibut special which was good but very lemony (although he ate it all). I spent an entire summer being told how great Krista's is. They gave me mixed reviews about their thoughts on the new renovations but nobody was negative on the food so I made the trip. I went during that slow lull between lunch and dinner. Personally, I liked the decor as it was homey and bright. I ordered a turkey avocado sandwich with sweet potato fries. What I received was this monstrous sandwich where the layers of turkey was at least 3" thick. However, the meal still felt light and tasted fresh. The sweet potato fries wee also very good. Plus I had leftovers which is always great and nearly unheard of when I have a sandwich entree. What made this experience not a 5 star was the service. Although the staff was friendly they weren't the most attentive. They seemed far more interested in getting ready for the dinner crowd than the patrons in the restaurant at that moment. The quality is worth the money at lest during the lunch hour. I have not tried the dinner or brunch but hear they are both excellent. read more

Krista's has the best breakfast I have ever had in my life. I cannot speak to lunch/dinner, but I'm sure it's all just as amazing. We come up here to visit my father-in-law each summer and we always make sure to stop. Large mugs of coffee and the best french toast/toast you'll ever taste. Gone here a bunch of times for breakfast. Absolute delicious and at a reasonable price. The hash is wonderful and omelets are loaded up with goodness whether it is meat or vegetable based. My husband and I decided to go to lunch at Krista's yesterday. So did everyone else. I watched as the waitstaff went right into plan B, very adroitly, to accomodate the increase in customers, We sat at the bar and received great service along with smiles and a sense of humor from our server. I don't feel the need to talk about the food because it is always fabulous. The server however stood out for many reasons, but one in particular. I watched as she prepared a pear martini. She cut a fresh pear and ground it. When she was ready to put it into a glass, she reached for a glass that had just come out of the dishwasher. When she realized the glass was warm, she reached into the fridge for a cold glass. I thought how many other servers would actually care if your glass was warm or cold. We had a delicious meal on a Saturday night for my birthday, it was busy but they kept everything moving. The place is adorable inside, small but plenty of seating. The staff is friendly and always had a smile on their face. We got the Tuscan quesadilla as an appetizer, and for meals we got Gorgonzola chicken and pistachio haddock, all of them were amazing. Okay, but not as good as I would have expected based on the other reviews. Dinner for two (2 starters, 2 mains, 3 wines, 2 beers, 1 dessert) $115 excl tip. Yummy smoked salmon cakes with roasted corn sauce, but too salty for me. Good tenderloin with horseradish sauce, but came with burnt potato pancake (mentioned to waitress and she tell the chef to be more careful next time). Yummy pasta with veal sausage and smoked mozzarella. Very large portion, could have been presented a bit better. Very nice Pinot and some good tap beers. Overall, good meal, but I'd prefer smaller less salty portions with a bit more attention to perpetration and presentation. read more

I have been here many times. I have only been for dinner though, great drinks, try the Godiva Martini if you love chocolaty goodness! I have never had a bad meal. Always great times, especially with great friends.....this is why it can get a bit loud but that doesn't matter. Hardwood floors, small, cozy setting! My absolute favorite dessert is Krista's ice cream sandwich made with the homemade cookies and vanilla ice cream, it is rolled in chocolate ganache and then rolled in nuts!!! Yum! The scallops are always delicious and cooked to perfection.......melts in your mouth! I recently discovered a new favorite, the Gorgonzola Chicken! The Pistachio Haddock is awesome too.....I don't care for cucumbers and it has a cucumber relish that was delish! If you love a large, filling sandwich, try the Poultrygeist......huge fried chicken breast, fries, etc. I think I have tried almost everything on their dinner menu with no complaints.......except wanting more. We came here for Brunch on Saturday. We loved it. My eggs Benedict was superb! Everyone enjoyed their meal. Portion size was tremendous. The level of service was excellent as well. The staff was friendly and courteous and performed their jobs well. The restaurant itself is beautiful and comfortable . It was busy but we didn't feel crowded in anyway. My only Con was that I was somewhat disappointed with my home-fries. They were the Cajun fries, but I felt they were lacking severely in spice and flavor. They were just ok.
