Why would you ever drive to Cornish? To have a meal at Krista's!!! Not to hate on Cornish, it is a lovely little town with some great shops (if you like antiques then Cornish is for you) but it is kinda out there. Krista's is right on Main Street and has a small parking lot but you can also park along the street. I went for dinner but I've heard from others that lunch is as great and breakfast may be the best (if you don't mind waiting). Krista's really isn't that small but it is so good that it draws a crowd to fill it constantly - so make a reservation. Their menu has a dozen entrees but don't ignore the specials. I went with pesto spinach chicken which had unbelievable flavor - that pesto was freshly made and smelled amazing. My parents both got the swordfish (a special that night) which they loved but after trying I was more impressed with the chicken. We split the Thai mussels as an appetizer - the sauce had a nice kick compared to a 'traditional' one; there was plenty to split three ways. House salads came out quick and were delicious - "topped with crispy onions" yes, please. The atmosphere was also great. Being there on a Thursday, they had a live musician playing the guitar who knew his audience. Playing soft music earlier in the evening (Black Bird) then having more fun before closing (500 miles - with help from the few remaining patrons). If I had to say something bad: side vegetables were a little undercooked for my taste. Dessert was obviously great but the peanut-butter pie was frozen solid. Really delicious food! And the quantities are so large you waddle out of there so you won't leave hungry! I ordered a Maine blueberry soda (Highly recommended!) I also had the burger with bacon, blue cheese and mushrooms. It was HUGE. It was really delicious and the sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection. Their house-made pickles were also amazing. Krista's in Cornish is a lovely restaurant! Everything feels, tastes and looks well thought out. We like everything from the charming decor, to the attentive service to the delicious food and libations. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, efficient and - equally important in my view- friendly and kind. We love their mixed drinks and wines and usually sit at the bar within the restaurant and grab something to eat there. However, they have also a couple other rooms with lots of tables to gather with friends and family. Reservations seem necessary on weekends. Everything is delicious. Portions are very large. We like it that they offer simpler dishes like burgers and sandwiches, as well as pastas and more complete meals with seafood, meat, veggies etc. Plus: Homemade dessert choices galore. (Lighter meal suggestions: Salad and top it off with a dessert./ Share one of their large sandwiches. /Have an appetizer and a salad. Oh. My. Goodness. How delicious is this place?!?!?! Really freaking delicious, that is the answer. I went with my aunt and her friend a few nights ago and it was amazing. My aunt has a second home nearby, and said this is her favorite restaurant to visit in the area. I can see why. The food is amazing, the service is phenomenal, the atmosphere is cozy, buzzing, and yet not overly loud. Oh, and the wine pours are generous and not too expensive :) The food: we started with the homemade potato chips with the gorgonzola sauce and bacon bits. DEEEEELICIOUS!!! And a massive portion for the ~$8 price. Between the three of us we could barely finish it. The only reason I didn't COMPLETELY dig in was because I wanted to save room for my dinner. Oh, and the entrees come with a starter salad - a few too many fried onions on top for me, but still good with a light dressing. My aunt has a gluten allergy and she requested her salad without the fried onions, and they obliged. The entrees: my aunt and I both got the scallops which came on top of a salad of beets, chickpeas, olives, artichokes, arugala, and marinated red peppers. I never would have thought of putting these flavors together but dammit, they worked!!! It was so delicious, a mix of savory and sweet, and the scallops were the biggest I have ever seen. The portion was huge and after the delicious chips starter, we each took back half for the next day (by the way, just as yummy when eaten as leftovers). Our friend got the tortelloni with shrimp. The portion was smaller, but she said the sauce was delicious and the chunks of veg along with the seafood looked fresh and yummy. She also took back a small doggy bag. We were too stuffed to try the dessert menu, but the selection looked good. Oh! I forgot the fresh bread and butter served with the meal - warm, and scrumptious :) I'm running out of adjectives to describe the food, so now I'll move on to the service: friendly, prompt, efficient, accommodating, and quite good looking :) I do not live in the area, but when I am back for a visit I will insist we have a meal at Krista's. The best! Krista's has a warm and friendly atmosphere. The entire staff is knowledgeable and always willing to make our visit so enjoyable. The food is superb, sophisticated, and delicious. I stop in at Krista's on occasion if I am traveling east-west between Maine and NH. Each time I have popped in, the food and service have always been great. The yummlets are addictive and great bar food and the wings (the entire wing, not drumsticks, etc,) are awesome, although they make you work for it! No tv at the bar for the single traveler but the bartenders are so attentive you don't need a distraction. We happened to be in the area today Apple picking and decided to finally give it a try. We have been by numerous times on our way to North Conway and keep saying how we would like to check it out. Oh yeah I'm supposed to be writing about Krista's and not about myself. Sorry about that. What a great little place. Environment is warm and inviting. They have a wonderful screened in porch to dine in that overlooks a creek about 100 ft below. Can't wait to go back for dinner sometime on that porch. I happened to get the Lobster Roll special with their handcut fries which was awesome The lobster was fresh and it came on a large toasted roll. My wife got a grilled cheese with tomato and pesto. That had fresh mozzarella which was almost as good as my lobster roll. My daughter had a cheese Quesadilla w/ fresh salsa. Krista's is a must stop if you are anywhere near Cornish. We are glad we finally made it and can't wait to go back. read more

Great place to eat! We were driving through on a road trip and stopped here for lunch. I had the BLT avocado quesadilla and it was really good! My husband had a burger. It was big and the patty was thick and very tasty. Would definitely go here again and recommend both items! read more

If you're going to splurge, this is the place to do it. Unfortunately for us, it is a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Between the moment you walk in at night and it is all lit up all beautiful and then the service, food and delicious options of desert brought you personally! The portions were very generous. The burgers are literally too big for your mouth but I am not complaining! Really recommend this to everyone! We love Krista's! Stopped in for lunch our first day in Maine, and sat out on the adorable back porch. Loved the sound of the waterfall and the strings of colorful lights around us. My boyfriend devoured his muffeletta sandwich and I loved the northender (but needed lots of napkins, it's messy!). We eagerly returned for breakfast on Saturday with some friends. Had to wait a bit to be seated, but it was worth the wait. My omelette with herbed cream cheese, baby spinach, steak tips, and portobella mushrooms was giant and delicious! I would have liked it even better if the spinach had been cooked inside the omelette, rather than having the raw leaves added afterwards. My boyfriend loved his scramble and we both thought the corned beef hash was the best we'd ever tasted. Bloody Marys were good, but I should have asked for mine to be spicier! What a gem! Currently on a roadtrip around New England. Today we headed from Maine to New Hampshire, and found Krista's along the way. The food is incredibly fresh, creative and mostly made from scratch. I had the pesto, mozzarella and tomato grilled sandwich. My boyfriend had the Harvest sandwich which included turkey, apples and cranberry. We both had the sweet potato fries, easily the best ones I've ever eaten. My husband and I made reservations for a quiet date night together. The service was great and the food was even better. Such a nice little hold in the wall, a real community gem!
