We saw this one and had to make a stop. The manager on duty was taking orders. He was so friendly. I spent some time reminiscing with him about other LJ's locations that have closed. He took time to have a general conversation and I really appreciated that. I ordered the two piece fish platter. Now listen, don't go to Long John's expecting a true seafood experience because you will be highly disappointed. You go to Long John's for the hush puppies, the tartar sauce on the overly bartered fish and for the little batter crumbs with your meal. And that's exactly what I got. It was a moment relived from my childhood and appreciated it.

When trying out Mission BBQ we immediately became big fans as the service is excellent, and the food is consistent and the highest quality level. The sauces (Memphis variety in particular) is delicious. Only recommendation here would be to make it slightly thicker, but I will come regardless of whether that happens or not. I love the 10 & 5 bone rack/fries and my wife loves the pulled pork, beans and fries (which can be ordered extra crispy - yum!!). All menu options are outstanding. The drinks are open refill and the iced tea is excellent. The service continued with a staff checking if you needed anything and cleaning up quickly. All service was with a smile and the attitude of the staff made you feel they genuinely enjoyed their job. It is a great experience, and has become a regular stop for myself and my wife on our frequent eating out schedule. FYI - as a veteran I got a free sandwich during armed forces week. Nice touch Mission BBQ. Never thought I would have been happy to see Smokey Bones close after moving back to Va. from Florida (Sonny's BBQ). You've replaced both Sonny's & Smokey Bones and it is very much appreciated.

Everything is takeout but they have indoor seating if you can't wait. We drove a bit to the park to feast with beautiful weather. Their ordering is online or by kiosk which I loved and it looked like pickup was made super easy for other orders with this great locker set up. We ordered a side of fried okra, cinnamon sugar beignets, a bacon/egg/cheese on a regular biscuit, and an order of chicken tenders/tatertots/regular biscuit and boom boom sauce (a chicken box). A sweet tea was a must. The fried okra had flavor and depending on the veggie anatomy came with an interesting texture but it out right told me they knew how to fry. The biscuit was good and obviously home made (no Pillsbury can in sight). I loved that you could pick what kind of egg for your sandwich and the choice of tater tots vs fries for the chicken box. The sweet tea was on point. The biscuits could be biscuit-ier but you dont come for them solo. You come to have boring bread be replaced by them and awesome combos to fill. Better than popeyes, if that wasn't obvious. Minimal service necessary but what was provided was nice. Fast delivery and everything tasty. The only disappointment was the beignets-while I've never had Cafe Du Monde- I know what's to be expected. Their beignets were fried biscuit balls dusted with the sweet coating of your choice. I'd pass on those next time. A solid 4.5 with a guarantee second stop in mind to try other missing menu items. Definitely need in on some of those best dang boxes.

The restaurant seems to be trying to minimize employee to customer interactions as there was no one there to take our order; you simply have to order at the kiosk. I noticed a lot of people ordered online and zipped right in to pick up their order. I'd recommend going that route if you're pressed for time. Bright and clean store.
