Food wasn't terrible. Ambiance a bit dated. Mostly older crowd. My salmon was not bad, and the brussel sprouts were actually delicious. Shout-out to my waitress Cara who was sweet, courteous, and quickly switched out one of my sides that I wasn't too fond of, with another one. Perhaps a one and done for me, but who knows? I may go back.

Haven't been here in a long time (don't get to Chester much any longer) but was out this way and my husband suggested we have lunch. The people were so nice, fast service, food came out quickly and hot and it was delicious!

Prime rib....very good.

Howlett's Restaurant & Grill is a good place to get a prime rib. The atmosphere is a laid back with a wooden motif. It's clean and serviceable. Service was attentive and staff frequently asked about refills and if we needed anything. The prime rib was very good. While I don't think it was a prime cut, it was very good in texture, taste and well prepared. Good drink selection and pour. I recommend Howlett's Restaurant & Grill and I'll be back for their prime rib.

Grouper

Great restaurant. We were in town for a softball tournament for our daughter and of course it was also our wedding anniversary. We decided to try this restaurant which we wanted to try last year when we were in town for another tournament(they don't open til late). We of course tried the fried deviled eggs(didn't get a pic) they were so good. Worth getting an order or two. We ordered the grouper which was on the specials menu. Grouper itself was seasoned nicely and nice lite meal. Also ordered the steak and mushroom risotto, so good. Cooked perfectly. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. We ordered the crème brûlée so good and lite. The waitress told us afterwards that the restaurant was giving us our dessert for free for our anniversary which was so sweet. Cute restaurant nice and clean. Would give it a try if in the area.

My friends and I visited for lunch and were impressed with everything we ordered. Great portion size at a reasonable price. This establishment is top notch for burgers and has a full menu with many choices from salads, wraps and subs. The chicken Philly is one of the best I ever had. A unique creation called the Grubrito is huge and features a blending of flavors including pork belly (smoked on site) a good casual atmosphere. Truly a place where the locals go for a great lunch, dinner or to just unwind. Sorry no pics of the food, it was nicely presented, we were all hungry and just dove into our food.

An Unforgettable Birthday Celebration! Bookbinder's Understood the Assignment!…read more Last night, we celebrated my mother's 65th birthday at Bookbinder's Seafood & Steakhouse in Richmond, and when I tell you this was an EXPERIENCE from beginning to end, I mean every word! It's the little details that make a dining experience memorable, and Bookbinder's understood that assignment. From the moment we checked in for our reservation, the staff warmly wished my mother a happy birthday. Such a simple gesture, but it immediately made her feel special. Walking through the restaurant, you couldn't help but appreciate the upscale, elegant atmosphere. We were seated in a beautiful booth and greeted by Matthew, who I can only describe as our dining experience curator. We had no idea what an incredible culinary journey we were about to experience! We started with oysters on the half shell, lollipop lamb chops, and their world-famous snapper soup. Every single appetizer was a 10/10, but that snapper soup? Listen! It exceeded every expectation. Rich, flavorful, and unlike anything we had imagined. I completely understand why it's famous! For our entrées, we enjoyed the ribeye, pork chop, and stuffed lobster. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, and the pork chop was incredibly tender. But the shining star of the evening was undoubtedly the stuffed lobster! The lobster itself was beautifully cooked, but the crab cake stuffing? Quite possibly the BEST crab cake I've ever had! And that's saying something. Every bite was absolutely delicious. This is one of those dishes I'll be thinking about long after the meal. We ended the evening with coffee, carrot cake, crème brûlée, and a special chocolate birthday cake for my mother. Another thoughtful touch that made an already wonderful evening even more memorable. Throughout dinner, Matthew was exceptional. Attentive, personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed every moment. Great service can elevate a good meal, but exceptional service turns dinner into a memory. Matthew did exactly that. This was my first experience at Bookbinder's, and it certainly won't be my last. In fact, I've already made my next reservation! If you're looking for somewhere to celebrate a milestone, enjoy an elegant date night, or simply treat yourself to an exceptional dining experience, Bookbinder's deserves a spot on your list. From the atmosphere and impeccable service to the incredible food and thoughtful birthday touches, Bookbinder's delivered on every level. 10/10 culinary experience. Five stars without hesitation.

Upon…read moreentering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted and escorted to our table, which had a beautiful view of the courtyard. As we made our way to the table, we did notice a strong smell of marijuana in the restaurant, which was a little unexpected. Our server came over promptly, took our drink orders, and we ordered a couple of appetizers. Both appetizers were very good. The wedge salad was actually a true wedge rather than just sliced lettuce, which I appreciated. The she-crab soup had an awesome flavor and was one of the highlights of the meal. For our entrees, I ordered the ancho-crusted ribeye, which was cooked perfectly to medium. Unfortunately, my fiancé's ribeye came out well-done instead of how it was requested to be medium well. Both steaks could have used a little more seasoning, as adding salt really helped enhance the flavor. The chimichurri sauce was very flavorful on top. The lobster mac and cheese was cheesy and had a good amount of lobster throughout. The loaded mashed potatoes were also very good. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate layered cake. It was moist and had good flavor, although it tasted as if it had been refrigerated for quite some time. Overall, we enjoyed celebrating such a special occasion at Bookbinder's. Despite a few things that could have been better, we had a good experience and would return again.
