This morning we ordered original glaze donuts. When we pulled away, we opened the box and saw the donuts were barely glazed and had a weird texture to the glaze that was on them. We tired one and it was completely stale. This is not the first time we have received garbage quality from this Krispy Crème location. I wish I could leave zero stars. Go to Tim Hortons instead. I've been on a kick to see who has the best Boston Cream donut. I rarely eat donuts but the other day while getting coffee at Dunkin Donuts I had a Boston Cream and it was so fresh, soft and full of cool cream. Went through the drive through and ordered 2 dozen original to take to the senior community where my mom stays. When I reach my destination and offered the donuts, I realized that they were nothing like what I'm used to with Krispy Kreme doughnuts. First of all, they looked like they were old. Second, they looked smaller than usual. and third, they were cold, like they were in a refrigerator. I was embarrassed to even serve them. I called the location to speak to the manager and asked what was going on. She explained to me that they no longer make the donuts at this location, that they are brought in like around 3 AM. These donuts seemed even older than just 3 AM. I consider myself a donut expert. I have multiple family members, including my own parents that owned and operated bakeries. A glazed donut was $.99. Today, I ordered at the drive thru a glazed and raspberry. They were good, but the price was $4.25! I had the opportunity to finally sit down inside and get the full Krispy Kreme experience. The donuts were being made fresh and we were able to sample one just minutes after being made. It was so good.... warm, soft, fresh and just the right amount of sweetness. It was a heavenly treat for the tastebuds. But back to the rest of the visit.... We were greeted promptly, had our questions answered and our orders were taken. I opted for a chocolate cake donut with an iced coffee. There was one little blip with my order. I received my coffee but not the donut. There was a bit too much chatting going on between a few of the associates. The oversight was quickly corrected with a sincere apology. We were able to sit, talk and take in the atmosphere as we watched several customers come and go with box after box of fresh donuts. The small Krispy Kreme 'boutique area' has T-Shirts, coffee mugs, tumblers, hats and their own brand of K-Cup coffee for sale. We looked for the prices on the coffee but couldn't find any. Everything else was priced except for the coffee. If you order through mobile, there's a separate Mobile Pick Up area where you go to pick up your order. It's off to the side and more in the rear of the dining area. The layout of the restaurant is unique and the behind the scenes donut making can be seen from the dining area with hundreds of warm, delicious donuts being cranked out. There's a counter with seating and it's facing the donut making area so you can enjoy your delicious donut while watching fresh ones being made. From the decorated walls in the modern looking seating area to the decorated windows, the merchandise for sale, the upbeat music being played and the free Krispy Kreme paper hats on the tables for the kiddos, it's a fun place to experience for all ages. read more

My family and I stopped here last night for my birthday treat. This Krispy Kreme location opened one day prior and despite the frigid cold temperatures this place was booming. The drive thru line was wrapped around the building and inside there was a line too. Despite the line, my family and I only waited about 8 minutes to get to the front of the cashier area. We had plenty of time to look over the souvenir section that included mugs, coffee and clothing items. The last time I was at a Krispy Kreme was probably 15 years ago and I only remembered them having original glazed doughnuts. There is so many toppings/fillings now and you can even create your own doughnuts (can't wait to do that on my next visit!) We got to enjoy freshly made hot glazed doughnuts while we waited in line. Delicious! The menu included create your own donuts, assorted doughnuts, doughnut sandwiches and various coffees, hot chocolates and milkshakes. What more can you want in a doughnut shop? This is the BEST! I first heard of Krispy Kreme in the 90s because my mom went down to North Carolina a few times, where Krispy Kreme originated. Then they opened a location in Sterling Heights (which later moved to Troy) shortly thereafter and my family went nuts. They were so good about making fresh doughnuts on a consistent basis. Now I see this location open up near my house and I went nuts when I first found out about it! Went through the drive-thru this morning and this was my first visit to this location, which opened two days ago. The interior is a great size and they sell merchandise. The drive through menus are big, brightly lit with large font. The drive-thru rep was very enthusiastic. I pulled to the first window to pay, then pulled to a second window to grab my doughnuts and Gharardelli hot chocolate. In true southern hospitality fashion, at both windows the employees were very friendly and just in a great mood. That's the best way to describe it! I ordered a medium Gharardelli hot chocolate, original glazed doughnut and a chocolate original glazed doughnut. JUST WOW. The original glazed doughnut was fresh and piping hot, and tastes just the way I remember from the old Sterling Heights location! These doughnuts are small, but mighty in flavor! 2020-10-10 Krispy Kreme Donuts. Shelby Twp, MI. Came by to pick up a Halloween Dozen. They actually have a special going on today. Double dozen for $13.00. That's one customized dozen with a dozen of their original glazed. A second deal is also happening. Buy any dozen and add a dozen of their original glazed for $1. This second deal doesn't really make sense unless you're buying their Halloween dozen or premium donuts that are not part of their every day lineup. Since I was here for the Halloween Dozen anyway, this was the deal I went for. These deals are only good for two days Oct 9 - Oct 10, 2020. This location is only providing drive thru services, so expect a queue. As such, there won't be much to say about COVID updates. Staff is wearing masks and gloves. The staff that handles the payment doesn't handle the food directly (they just hand you the boxes). No hand sanitize or masks offered. The staff that does handle your food and drink are also masked and gloved. Pretty good as far as safety measures go. In the end it's still Krispy Kreme and their donuts are the same super sweet sweets they have always been. Also, on par with their festive donuts, they're smaller than the classic flavors they carry. This time they're decorated better than their Easter flavors (see pics). All in all, the double dozen is good value. If you like Krispy Kreme try to make it out and take advantage of it. Since this review I have been going to the Krispy Kreme on John R in Troy. Trust me the drive is worth the better service and fresher donuts. They have their fresh donut sign on multiple times a day and always true when it's on and off. Just overall ran better there. I'm not sure how important this review is as everybody knows Krispy Kreme donuts are absolutely amazing and delicious especially if you can get them while the light is on in front of the store letting you know they are serving them warm and fresh. I had to stop and get 5 dozen today and as I put them out on the tables before we opened the boxes people were hanging around like seagulls on a beach with a spilt bag of potato chips. Once we opened the boxes the hands began to reach in and before you know it five dozen fresh warm and ready Krispy Kremes disappeared right before our eyes. I am really happy with my visit here today. It was quick and sweet. This location recently opened earlier this year, and a lot of people were coming her. Every time I went past it, the parking lot and doughnut shop was completely filled. I did not want to go there while it was crazy busy, and I am glad that I waited until now to go.
