On 12/12/23, my wife and I decided to drive to the South Pasadena location to get some donuts. I checked their website and also google to make sure they were still open. We arrived around 8pm to find the lights dim and not a worker in the store. Apparently, they had closed before their advertised time of 10pm! We were so disappointed to have wasted 1 hr and the gas to drive there and back. It seems that they may have been inundated with lots of orders for 12/12 and decided to call it quits for the day. Krispy Kreme donuts are the fried treat that conquered the world.... except here. There is a soft place in my heart reserved for donuts: their pillowy texture and their crisp jacket of glazing. Homer Simpson's favorite food is one of the most delicious treats you can indulge in.  So why would a corporate giant open a donut shop that doesn't make donuts? Because some corporate idiots just go ahead and spend a few hundred grand on an idea before realizing that it was stupid. The surefire way to know that your business idea stinks is ask your target customers. Experts aren't the only ones whose opinions you should solicit about your business ideas. I can't imagine anyone would have thought a donut kiosk posing as a donut shop was headed for success. I pity the fool who came up with this. If you find yourself driving on Fair Oaks in So Pas....keep driving past this Krispy Kreme "Day Old" Donut Outlet and head over to Randy's Donuts on Lake. Excellent fresh donuts brought in daily per Matty ( he gets 5 stars for customer service happiness patience enthusiasm) Today was National Coffee Day and we ordered hot and iced coffee and sampled several donuts. Good parking clean interior and bathroom. From previous review's , it seems 1-2 stars only for cashier 'B'. My mom went to buy the assorted 16 mini doughnuts. The receipt stated as follows: 4 mini Dutch Apple Pie 4 mini Pumpkin Pie 4 mini Pecan Pie 4 Lemon Kreme Pie Yet when she brought it home she found there was only 3 mini pumpkin pie 3 mini Pecan Pie 3 mini Lemon Kreme Pie 3 mini "Dutch Apple Pie" And 4 mini classic glaze... Plus I put Dutch Apple Pie in quotations because it doesn't even look like the picture yall posted on your email...this is a bit sketchy...yes we ate 1 Lemon Kreme and 1 original glaze but still this isn't right...to promise 4 of each special doughnuts only to skimp out and replace 4 with the original glaze...also when you close the box you only see the special mini doughnuts you can't even see the 4 original glazed doughnuts they snuck in there...I'm putting 3 stars cuz maybe it was an honest mistake but still really suspicious... Probably the easiest Krispy Kreme to shop at! Although there is no drive-thru window, they still have all the great donuts and drinks as any other K.K. If you order ahead, you can even bypass the line and pick up directly by the cash registers. I went in for a couple of donuts, but bought a whole dozen because I was so happy to have a Krispy Kreme so close to home! read more

Oh my beloved Krispy Kreme, what happened to you? How dare they charge me $2 for a 2 inch donut. They're definitely smaller and more expensive these days which makes me sad. I got two of my favs: custard filled and raspberry filled. Even the filling is skimpier these days. I probably won't be visiting krispy kreme again unless I want a hot fresh glazed donut. It had been several months since I had KK donut so I was excited about a new location close to home. All day I was looking forward to devouring a donut. Unfortunately, I was so underwhelmed! The strawberry shortcake donut was mediocre. The classic glazed, my fave was whatever. I don't think they're are made on site. I went home a zapped it in the microwave for a few seconds to get the warm fresh donut I wanted. This location is small & no display of the donuts being made. The donuts here are mediocre and now I know why, they aren't prepared on site so they just don't taste as fresh as other Krispy Kreme's. Kind of like when you buy them at the market or 711. I don't know what happened, but these donuts are a sad downgrade from the old Krispy Kreme donuts. And they're not made fresh in this location. This is not a production location. Meaning they do not make donuts at this store. Pre-made donuts are delivered to this site and sold. Fresh "hot now" donuts are what make Krispy Kreme special and delicious. When they're not fresh, they're surprisingly gross. You're better off buying packaged donuts at a local gas station. We ordered three dozen mixed donuts for a work event and two containers of coffEe. We asked to have the order split into two bags. The woman said we are too busy to bag them and will hand you the bags and you can do it yourself! Seriously? The amount of time it took her to get the bags and hand them to me she could have bagged them. coffee was not ready and she had to spend time making it. Customer service sucks! Krispy Kreme is finally here! I appreciate this new location so we don't have to drive all the way to Burbank for some yummies. Sure, the donuts are made offsite and brought in each day, but they still taste great. Came here on a Saturday night. The employee, a white guy, starts asking me questions before I'm even in the store. I don't know what he said. He was making me feel uncomfortable. I placed my order and then after I went to look at the donuts. He then scolded me for looking, I guess he expected me to leave. They must not want extra business. I've been craving a good Apple fritter, and so, a few weeks ago, I stopped by the fairly new to the area, S, Pas. Krispy Kreme. For more than what I paid for a large Apple fritter at the Winchell's up the street- I bought an Apple fritter. It appeared to be about 3 1/2" in diameter. It had two flavorless chunks of apple, and each was about 3/8" x 3/8" 3/8". Funny thing about it is that I bought two, and the wifiest, wifey, wife, wife claims that hers had about 12 chunks. So, since none of the other nearby donut shops puts any apple chunks- I'll be giving this place one more try. read more

We finally have a store near us. Previously, the closest store was in Burbank. There is a drawback though. It looks like this store does not make the donuts fresh in store. We got a two dozen for the price of one special today on its grand opening. The donuts were good but not warm and fresh straight out of the fryer. Additionally there's no drive-through so you have to park and walk into the store. Parking is limited. I guess it'll have to do. read more

Here I was worried about Krispy Kreme in south Pasadena tempting me. Well, this store doesn't make any fresh donuts. Donuts are delivered daily. So just like the ones delivered daily to your local supermarket. The thought of a hot glazed donut is always tempting but look elsewhere. You won't get one here. Donuts were stale and was told it was delivered daily. That's the same as going to a super market to buy donuts.

I was excited to walk to the new local Krispie Kreme and get a donut. I ordered an original glazed and a blueberry cheesecake. I download the app while waiting in line, scan it at the register and apparently got a free donut. However, the employee just credits it automatically without asking me, towards the glazed. I have no idea what the reward was and would've preferred to have the choice to use it and read what the credit was for. Perhaps it could've been used for the blueberry one (the donut that's a bit more expensive)? It's not about the money but the fact that he just did it without asking and told me he couldn't undo it. He offered to delete it from my current order, but then told me I couldn't get the reward back on my app. Who would go for this option? Yes, please delete it and let me pay for the glazed, AND lose my reward at the same time. Also, this is a new store and it didn't offer a free glazed like in other places. Perhaps I missed that opportunity, but I think it's only been open a week? I should've known something was up when the group in front of me left without their box of a dozen donuts. I guess I'll stick with the Winchell's a block from this place if I'm craving a donut. I know I'm only one customer and won't have much impact, but they lost me on my first trip. read more
