On Monday, I had one of my crews starting a roofing job in South Pasadena. I placed an order online for eight croissant sandwiches and requested that they be cut in half and packaged separately as well as half a dozen of assorted donuts. I requested pick up for 845. I paid online so all I had to do was pick up the food. The lovely ladies working on Monday morning had carefully packed up everything I requested and handed me the bag as I walked in the store as they were just finishing it. Interesting, I didn't know there was a Yum Yum Donuts here. I know of the Alberto's next door, but how did I miss the Yum Yum?! Anyhow, the donuts looked amazing. Bright lights caught my eyes off of Main Street, while I was turning onto Fremont Avenue. However, the donuts was not too fresh. It was probably over a day old, and peeking into into its second day. I mainly order glazed and the glazed twisting donuts, along with a couple of chocolate bars. It was around $14.00 for a dozen, and $7.00 for half. Knowing there was no deals going on, I bought six. The donuts was good, but did not have the freshly baked taste. The glaze was already flaking off, so I immediately knew it was not barely made. No offense, I understand donuts cannot be made around the clock. And they are usually made during the weird hours of the morning while people are sleeping. The variety was there. Plenty to choose from. Lots of icing and candied donuts available, along with other rolls and fritters. I just wished it was fresher! I'll give it another try soon. read more

I had my fair shares of donut shops but not like this one. There are SO MANY CHOICES!! Forget the donut holes, they got baby size donuts with different flavors, a variety of donut flavors and they are fully stocked! They even got bunuelos (cinnamon sugar tortilla chips), yum! But wait, there is more! They even got bagel breakfast sandwiches too! Unsure if it is a good thing or bad its a bit out of my way as I will probably be gaining a lot of weight and some cavities along the way. My only downfall is knowing the location, it is not the cleaning or spacious donut house. While I was there, there is a unstable person babbling in one of the tables there. He wasn't harmful but he was definitely on something from his speech, words and demeanor. May be a bit creepy to some. I could say, it may seem like a corner joint but sad to admit, those are the best joints. Another negative is me seeing the lady who was making my bagel who added scrambled egg mix into a small plastic to go bowl and them popped it into the microwave. Interest to add, that was an interesting idea and why did I not ever think of that? I did not care for the plastic in the microwave and try not to make a big deal is this is a donut shop after all and not Einstein's bagel you know, so I can't really compare or complain. I am just happy already with all the selections they had! The girl who served me was super sweet and soft spoken, we exchanged eye contact aware of the crazy man in their store who wouldn't stop trying to spike a conversation with me and I can tell she felt bad for me. I got a turkey bagel sandwich with avocado and bacon, then my husband got bagel sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese. We both loved our meals, the sandwich gave me that "yum yum." The donuts are standard, what you expect in a donut. Unfortunately the lady who was working there was really off-putting. I went in with my kids and she was annoyed with my questions about what kind of filling a certain donut had and if there were any special deals for National Doughnut Day. We were the only customers there at the time and she was bothered that my kids were taking time to choose their donut despite me saying at the start we may need some time to choose ("Ugh, just tell me when you're ready," walks away). We picked out our donuts, didn't get the deal (Buy $5 iced coffee and get a free donut). When it was time to pay I said, "I'm sorry if I made you mad, " to which she replied, "That's OK." The only reason it's not a 1 star is because of the rest of the team, they have always been nice but clearly trying to gauge where things were going today. Cooks got a chip on her shoulder this morning, complete attitude. Previously came across her trying to get through the ally only to get her road rage attitude with her thinking that I'm trying to turn into the parking lot right away when I'm just trying to get by, drop off my spouse and come back to order and take my spouse some breakfast. By far one of best donut shops I have ever visited. And such talented people working there. I have never in my life have seen such colorful Chrismas donuts. And such a huge selection. They also have a menu board with many options I had a French donut with a sugary coating. It was so light and airy and not doughy at all. And I did not get that greasy feeling on top of my mouth. I also had a hot pastrami on an onion bagel. Pure heaven. Huge selections many muffins too. They even have slices of chocolate cake and bread pudding.
