My fiancé and I like to occasionally come here on Saturday morning. Every time we come something in this place isn't working. Soda machine, donut maker, and one time they had no ice. Don't get me started on the poor customer service. This morning we stood at the counter for 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us (they were all just standing around). I finally went to this place after hearing all my friends rave about it. I figured ok I'm in Charlotte so let me try this place. Ok, the iced coffee taste like water! WTF? But the doughnuts were really, really, surprisingly good! The glazed doughnuts were given to me fresh off the conveyor and it was just warm and so soft. They act like you're inconveniencing them by trying to order anything - which is impossible anyway because they're always out of everything. Worst store ever. I called the store 14 times in the matter of 30 minutes to place an order and after the first prompt the system hangs up. Then I get to the store and the register won't scan my coupon so Instead of paying $5 a dozen a have to pay the full price of $11. The assistant manager says sorry and walks away. Walked in at 9:00am to redeem my free coffee & donut of CHOICE since 9/29 was national coffee day, Shawanna walks up to the counter with a attitude. I kindly tell her I have the free coffee & donut of CHOICE on my app she started being rude as I attempt to show her the app on my phone she refuses to look at it & says you can get a small coffee & ONLY a original glazed donut. I said can I speak with the manager, she proceeds to yell to the back of the store & yells the managers name. The manager(probably just a shift leader the way she acted) comes to the front refuses to acknowledge me once I tried to explain the situation would only communicate with her employees, so I said Oh so I can get any donut I want she looks at me finally and says with a nasty attitude "If it goes through" Finally make it to the register I ask for cream & sugar Shawanna says I will have to charge you for that, so I said don't worry about it. No smiles on the face of any of the employees they all look disgusted to be there, whispered about me while I'm in the store then proceeded to talk about me as they stare at me as I am leaving the store & going to my car. The donuts themselves are amazing but it looks like this location is falling victim to its own popularity. They redid the interior to expand it which apparently ended up reducing the size of the parking lot. Now you have to get in the same line to park as for the drive-in which means you have to wait in line before you even get inside to wait in line. Then when you leave you have to wait again because the drive-in line prevents you from backing out and getting out of the parking lot. So as much as I love the donuts, especially the chocolate sprinked glazed, am not eager to return. read more

If you go between 6 and 11 i think, am or pm, they are cooking glazed donuts fresh and its one of the most wonderful eating experiences ever. The other donuts are good too, but everyone should try a fresh glazed donut. The coffee is average, there are much better places to go... but face it you are going there for the donuts. read more

Only gave one star because "0 stars" isn't an option. The lack of professionalism and customer service I witnessed and received during my visit is appalling. The workers got into an argument and began using profanities towards each other in front of me and many other guests. The staff here is amazing! I called just to make sure they had enough doughnuts for my son's birthday celebration at school. By the time I got there, Kimberly had them all bagged up and when the staff found out why we were buying the treats, they filled our bag with enough hats and napkins for all the kids. There is nothing like waiting to get home and grabbing your fav with a glass of cold milk, or water. Only to open the box and it's missing . I was so shocked at the total lack of customer service at this Independence location it prompted me to write a review. AAAAAHHHHH!!!!! I stopped in here on a Saturday evening at 5 pm. So not too busy. In fact, there was only one other person in line in front of me. So I patiently waited while this person was served...while watching 6 other employees chit chat with each other or stare off into the distance. There were also at least 3 or 4 people in the back making donuts. At no time did any approach me in line, offer to get my order or even acknowledge my existence. When the server working with the person in front of me was done with that order, he took off his gloves and watched as another staff person rang up the order. It seemed like no one in this place knew how to do anything. But the worst was the two girls with headsets leaning on the front counter talking, talking talking and never even looking up at me. When I finally gave up on the entire effort and commented to them I was shocked that they wouldn't wait on me, let alone break up their convo. They actually commented that "they didn't know who was waiting on me".... That was the problem, "NO ONE" was waiting on me. I feel bad for the manager of this store who pays at least 8 to 10 people to work an hour and not one could manage to serve a few donuts. I don't see how you are making it with this place. read more

From reading the reviews, I did not have an high expectation for their customer service. I thought it would be fine since I only wanted to grab a few donuts and leave. However, I was surprised the moment I walked into the store. I was greeted by this guy, and he was nice enough to tell me to wait a few seconds, so he could get me the freshly made donuts. Went here with a friend today and had a terrible experience. The donuts were cold and stale but the staff was the real issue. We walked in and only staff was in the store at the time, they stared us down and were extremely rude when we asked where to order. The female workers wouldn't stop rolling their eyes and making faces at us. When we paid with a gift card, the girl checking us out snatched it out of my friends hand in a really rude manor and rolled her eyes. She shoved the donuts at us and caused us to drop keys. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE donuts and Krispy Kreme, but I'll definitely be driving out of the way to visit another location after this morning. My husband and I went inside to get donuts because the "Hot Donuts Now" sign was on and the drive thru doesn't always have the freshest donuts. There was a man and a child in front of us. The woman working the counter completely ignored us and was standing there waiting for their order (even though they were taking a ridiculously long time...). This is fine, and all, but there were at least 5 other employees walking around (including a manager) who could've helped. There were 2 employees standing around, 1 packing donuts, 1 working the drive thru (which wasn't busy), and a manager. The manager was restocking cups. She asked a girl to take our order, so she did, and then placed the donuts on the counter next to the girl helping the man and kid in front of us instead of checking us out so we could leave. They paid for their donuts, then decided they wanted a coffee. This took WAY longer than it should've. They finally paid for the coffee, and the cashier decided to make their coffee before letting us pay for our (now cold) donuts. The process of walking in the door, getting a dozen original donuts (which are prepackaged thanks to the employee assigned that duty), and paying for them took about 10 minutes when it should've taken 2. So, if you see the hot donuts now sign and go in with the intention of getting hot donuts, choose a different location. If we had gone through the drive thru, we could've been back home eating warmish donuts, instead of standing in the restaurant while our hot donuts turned cold. read more
