I had my third visit to this Duck Donuts after moving here from Raleigh in October of last year. Each visit has been a great experience with pleasant and engaging staff and, of course, wonderfully tasty donuts chosen from a bountiful selection. On my visits, I have been the only customer in the store which makes me concerned for the long-term health of the business, but the store was clean and the donuts were freshly made as has always been my experience with Duck Donuts. I hope they stick around for a long time because my cravings need to be satisfied when they hit. :D read more

All I can say is these donuts are in a zip code above all the others . I chose the breakfast box because maple bacon. Nuff said . There wasn't a bad choice in the box. This place is just ok. The donuts are good but the coffee is meh. So expensive for everything. The customer service is terrible, the cashier acted like she was doing me a favor by ringing me up and couldn't get a thank you or you're welcome from anyone. They seem like they don't wanna be bothered. Anyways, not returning. The Donut Hole is right in the complex down 160 and the owner is so nice there and donuts are fluffy and reasonably priced. I tried Duck Donuts in Charleston and loved it, so thought I'd try them again closer to home... Well, this was a smaller Fort Mill chain...but just as impressive. In a way, it was better because the place looked even cleaner (possibly since newer?)...and I thought the staff member did a better job in crafting these donuts. One thing I noticed was that they also had these heavenly treats called the "Donut Sundaes"...and I must try them soon! Not sure if true or what, but seemed the donuts looked smaller...and even the box looked smaller? One thing I don't like is how the cheap and flimsy the donut box is (a bit hard to open and close). I was in the neighborhood and have seen Duck Donuts on numerous occasions but never stopped by until recently. I read the reviews and they were less than stellar but I decided to give them a try. As others have said, the customer service is lacking, slow, unbothered and uninterested. I ordered the Chocolate Caramel Crunch and Maple Bacon flavors; they were decent but for the price, lack of customer service, it's not worth it for me. There are other locations around the Charlotte area that have good reviews but I'm good. The atmosphere and decor are nice however and seem to be a bright spot for Duck Donuts. On the flip side, the shop is rather small so you're not able to sit down and really be comfortable. It's a pass for me. read more

Finally!!!! The moment we found out we were getting a Duck Doughnuts the neighborhood was abuzz! So glad we no longer have to make the drive into the big city for a proper piece of fried dough. This location has just opened 1/27/22. Originally they advertised an opening date of 1/29 but perhaps opened a few days early to work out kinks? We arrived practically at opening on a Friday and there was already a line to the door. If you've ever been to Duck Donuts you'll know that they're all made to order so there will be a bit of wait time. Luckily we did not mind as we got to watch the process and my kid was fascinated. Absolutely love that Duck Donuts has made its way closer to our home. Whenever we got a craving, we had to go to the one in Charlotte! So far I've only ordered in the afternoon and online, so I've had no issues with pick up! The best way to eat these donuts is warm. So if you take them home like me, reheat them in the microwave and they are wonderful, even a day later! We like some of the ones they have created, but also love some of our own creations. Sometimes it takes a bit to figure out what creations work well and some don't, as sometimes some of the flavors can get lost. For example - you can have peanut butter icing with a chocolate drizzle or chocolate icing with a peanut butter drizzle, I like the peanut butter as the base better. Some of our favorites: Maple Bacon - maple icing and bacon Peach Pie (seasonal) - vanilla icing, peach, streusel and caramel drizzle French toast - maple icing with cinnamon and powdered sugar Peanut Butter icing with oreo crumbs and chocolate drizzle Blueberry icing with lemon drizzle Smores - chocolate icing with graham cracker and fluff Apple pie (seasonal - vanilla icing, apple, streusel and caramel drizzle Mint oreo - mint icing with oreo crumbs Definitely recommend checking them out, even if you don't like cake style donuts. 1pm on a Saturday to this Duck Donuts, decided to stop in since I've never been before! The store was clean and pleasant to be in, and the workers behind the counter were sweet to talk to and fast. I didn't realize donuts were made to order here, and the kind lady who made my 2 donuts did an amazing job. Go here every time I am in town. Great little shop in a great little neighborhood. You get pick up donuts then go next door to pick up lunch or dinner for later. The donuts also taste amazing. We've been going to the Duck Donuts in Kitty Hawk (where my in-laws live) for over a decade and are so excited that Duck Donuts made its way to SC! I've only been to Duck Donuts a few times and when I have I've only gotten 2-3 donuts total. For Fathers Day I went to the one in Fort Mill to get 2 dozen to give some to my Dad and have enough to share with my Mom and myself and so the parents could have a few left over for Monday. I knew their prices were high but after a $4 tip the cost of 2 dozen donuts was $47. Don't get me wrong on the quality of the donuts, they taste great, they have a large assortment of flavors/toppings, and the fact that they are made right then so they are hot is amazing. But, for 2 dozen donuts to cost me nearly $50 is completely insane and way over priced. read more
