I am not a doughnut eater, well...maybe one a year. And if this is the year for me to eat a doughnut, it would be one from Sumo, located along Hwy 521/Charlotte Hwy. They are just wonderful. Wife ordered a bunch of doughnut holes for her upcoming bunco occasion and, yes, I sampled. I had to be careful reaching out for fear that the potentially 400 pound guy residing inside my body would come into being. Great selections. Hours are 6am - 3pm and 7am - 3pm on weekends. Closed on Mondays. If you are going to do it (eat doughnuts), do it here as you might as well have the best. read more

This donut shop is amazing! They have such a unique selection along with the regulars. I got a large box of donuts of all kinds and we all enjoyed the texture and flavor. Even the vanilla frosted with sprinkles actually tasted like vanilla! I saw a maple long John donut and asked what was inside, the employee said "nothing but I can fill it with whatever you like"! Food truck located in the parking lot of the Exxon gas station. Doughnuts starts at $1.59. Breakfast sandwiches are $5.99 with variety of bread choices to include croissant, brioche, etc... I ordered the following items: two maple doughnuts, two glazed donuts, turkey bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a brioche, and the sumo smash burger. The egg sandwich was delicious and a great consistency. The egg wasn't runny or hard, it had this delicate runny texture but fully cooked. I want to make eggs that way :) The doughnuts were delicious and fresh. Although I have a dairy allergy, I tested both doughnuts, and my digestive system handled it well. The sumo smash burger was good, but I don't know if I would buy it again. Overall, I was happy. read more

This is our second time having donuts from this food truck. I must say the donuts are sooo good and the maple flavor has got to be a family favorite! While we enjoy the donuts from here, this time while my husband was eating one, he felt a small scrap and found a small piece of plastic in the donut which you'll see pictured. I'll consider this a one off experience. Other than this mishap, definitely give them a try. read more

Still amazing!!! New storefront opened this morning. Great open space with seating, donut case filled with all kinds of amazing selection. Was greeted by the same great folks who ran the food truck. Donuts are by far the best in Indian Land and FM but my fave is the sumo breakfast sandwich. Stacked high, it's a tower of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese and their house sauce. It's an amazing breakfast sandwich that doubles as my lunch because of its size. I order it on a croissant but this morning I was given a brioche in error which was ok, croissant is definitely better. Support local, these folks are fantastic! read more

I'd been wanting to visit the storefront since seeing reviews about their food truck on other social media for quite some time. The first time I ordered online during the night hours and although I indicated arrival would be 7:30 am, I arrived closer to 7:00 am. I waited in my car for a bit, then entered the store between 7:10 and 7:15 am. I was warmly greeted and assured that my order could easily be ready ASAP. The owner proceeded to fill my box and went to the back to get a fresh one of the creme-filled donuts. We chatted for a bit and I came to learn how the name "Sumo" came about. I made note of the apple fritters (bear claws) because I have a friend from out of town who adores them. They looked really good and I will be sure to get one for her whenever she visits the area again. My eyes were much bigger than my stomach and I had ordered a dozen variety. OMG - these were the freshest, pillowy, most decadent donuts I've ever had!!! One donut in size is the equivalent of 2.5 - 3 you would get at the popular chains. I will never visit Dunkin' again (actually stopped going for several years now, save for the rare visit when they are the only option around during travel). Krispy Kreme might get some support, but not as much as long as Sumo is around. Sumo offers a much better donut for the value. My second visit was just last week - the cravings hit again! This time, I wasn't so greedy and bought a half dozen, which was very satisfying. I received a few free donut holes during both visits. My waistline is saying no more but I know where to go whenever I need to satisfy a serious sugar craving. I hope to try other menu options in the future, especially their burgers. read more

Picky about donuts. I can usually pass on them when brought into the office cuz usually they're from Dunkin' or KK, meh. But these were delicious! I'm not a donut person really, but all that I tried were great. My family really love the burger as it comes, as well as every breakfast sandwich they have. Fries were pretty good to me as well. Their breakfast sandwiches have a unique taste to the buns. The croissant sandwich is good too, but to us the buns have a slight edge with a sweet taste. Service is always good, and the inside the store it's ambiance is definitely mom and pop withlimited seating. We have been back many times now. read more
