When bad goes to worse, than bad again. It's 6:30am You've been "open" for 30 minutes according to your website and sign on the front door. However, the lights are off and the door is locked. Employee inside gives me the "steering wheel" sign and I go to the drive thru, no big deal. There's a truck unloading food and I'm at the speaker waiting, waiting, and waiting. An employee, was outside with the driver and I motioned to them for help. The truck driver points to me and the employee, who has his back to me, literally shrugs his shoulders, then turns around and tells me to go the window. Nice customer service. The girl inside seemed like she could've cared less. Frankly, I've had better conversations with cats than this girl, and to top it off, the "strawberry" glazed doughnut was weak and looked nothing like the advertisement, not even close!!! Super convinient location located off Indepence Blvd. I've been to this location multiple times for various reasons and have never had any issues. It smells just how Krispy Kreme should smell DELICIOUSNESS! plenty of parking out front, and they also do have a drive thru for your convenience. They have an outside patio with a couple of tables of you want to enjoy the outdoors. Service is always quick and efficient and no more than a 5-minute wait unless, of course, it's super busy. I ordered their vanilla Iceed coffee for the first time. I added a shot of espresso and 2% milk (that's all they had besides oatmilk), and when I tell you, it was SOOO good! I honestly was not expecting the best and thought it would be overwhleminingly sweet (I mean, it's krispy kreme) but it honestly was not sweet at all and the espresso made it taste strong just as I like it! Stopped after leaving an event at BOA stadium. It was 9;50pm when we stopped. They close at 11:00pm. Two employees were there. One was at drive thru. The other was behind machinery. Was in there several minutes but they never looked up from their phones. A car came through the drive thru and they never acknowledged them. We left. We've stopped here before and staff has never been the friendliest but at least they served us. read more

Honestly haven't been here in awhile due to every time we did they barely had any doughnuts available, even when they have the "supposed " seasonal ones. Tried delivery and you don't get the ones you ordered because they don't have them and replace with whatever they want to. Staff usually acts like they have no desire to be working and are in no rush to be helpful. They definitely want that pay check but don't want to do the work to get it. This franchise is horribly run and needs a major overhaul! Inside isn't too bad, probably because no one really goes there anymore so there's nothing to clean up. read more

Not sure why, but the app said they had hot donuts & the red hot sign was on inside. After getting to the drive through window my original glazed donuts were ice cold & I was told they only have the specialty donuts hot... Previous experiences here have been accurate (app wise & in-person) and fine taste wise (reasoning for the 2 stars). I don't know what's going on inside this location but they look like they are under construction. Several huge cardboard boxes all out on the counter. Cabinets broken or and/or falling off of the condiment station. The employees look at you when you come in but it takes them forever to acknowledge your presence. A random tray sitting up on the glass cabinet with two donuts in it - just not a good look. Some dude who I assume is the manager walking around in circles but not acknowledging customers who are waiting to be served. The countertops and the tables all need to be wiped down. Went in for a dozen of original glazed donuts seen guy working with hand in pocket and scratching his head with gloves on then he proceeds to grab donuts with same gloves that he scratched his head and had in his pockets , when I asked him was he going to change his gloves and told him why I asked he said he wasn't scratching his head when I just seen him with my own eyes . I stop by here, because of the head quarter website promotion on May 24-27 Buy Any Dozen, Get A Dozen Doughnuts for just $3.84. I order 1 dozen and told her (Tamiya) is the second dozen will be for $3.84 she says yes but still brought up normal price which is $14.99. I told her there is a promotion for this week starting May 24-27. She looked so confused and acted very dumb. Finally, the Manager told her that there is a promotion the second dozen will be $3.84. I came here to drive thru after dinner time. Ordering was simple and didn't wait long at all. I got a dozen classic doughnuts. They gave us plenty of napkins. The doughnuts were delicious. Luckily I was patient because kids tend to play at work, but it was very unprofessional for me to have to drive around to replace my order. Do not go to the Krispy Kreme at 9301 Independence Blvd. in Matthews, NC. It is severely mismanaged. There are three people there that are totally incapable of working. The real manager is always on his phone whenever I have gone there. My last visit on 2/24/23 was a follow up to a online order for 5 dozen glazed doughnuts so that I could be assured of simply picking up. When I got there there were 4 cars in line at the drive thru and when I parked to go in there were 5 people in line waiting to be served only to be told the machine was broken and they didn't have any doughnuts. This is a place of happiness. Not just breakfast or snacktime, but pure happiness. My only gripe is the accessibility. Located on Independence, it is hard to pull in and then come in through the back, pull in to the drive thru or find a spot in the adjacent parking lot. All of Charlotte knows how 74 is the bane of motor vehicle existence, so just be prepared. Absolutely love Krispy Kreme and all they stand for. Matthews has its charms, but having a KK in its vicinity is definitely a plus! This location is off of Independence... it's got a drive through and a "Hot Now" sign that almost always causes me to veer off of the busy road and pull in to get a box (or five) of sweet treats. Recently, I've been going here a lot since I've had a lot of "out of town visitors" and what is not better to end a breakfast meal with some warm, freshly made KK donuts. I was a little sad to see that this location is going to be temporarily closed for about 4 months as they rebuild the location and "position the building in a better way to serve customers". I'm not sure if that means a bigger location (score!) or if they will just position the drive-thru so that you don't' get run over while trying to get your Hot Now donuts. As far as the staff here goes, I've not had a bad experience and all the workers (however early it is in the morning) greet you warmly and make sure you have a good experience. There is a small dining area (hopefully will be expanded in the new building) with about 5-6 tables so you can eat your donuts and grab a coffee for a little while. Last time I "dinned in" there was a water leak? or something that caused the floor to be wet, but hopefully they can fix that once they are done with the remodel/update/construction. In the mean time, I'll have to drive to Cotswold for the time being, but I am excited to see this KK open its doors again. read more

Here in the states we ought to take advantage of the fact that we can get these sweet babies for half of that. Krispy Kreme streets an array of flavors, toppings and fillings. The custards and creams and jellies all pumped into that light and fluffy yeasty pocket that nobody can disagree simply melts in your mouth. Sometimes you want the mixed dozen - still you won't pay more than a-dollar-a-donut. But most often.
