Here in Fredericksburg for a meetup later today, and needed a break after the long drive. I spied one of my favorite doughnut places, and had to stop and get my Homer Simpson fix. I got a nice cup of coffee and strawberry iced glazed doughnuts. Nice soft and delicious doughnut and pretty good cup of joe! Service was fast and friendly. The donut quality control has seriously just gone down hill. The donuts should still be decently fresh in the middle of the day as they make them fresh daily, but the dozen I received today looked mangled and old. This location has notoriously had bad service, an empty drive through and parking lot and I still had to wait 10+ minutes in the drive thru. The app and the "hot donuts" sign is never in sync and honestly I don't think they turn their sign on much anymore. They look better at the grocery store. And for $15 a dozen I expect much better quality control than this!! I would suggest you go literally anywhere else for donuts. read more

These places usually don't disappoint and they did well again today & kept their streak. Stopped for desert and coffee after a phenomenal dinner at Fat Boys Smokehouse & bbq not far from here. Yes the light was on. Light a moth drawn to the light. Yes it was calling me. It's a batman signal of some sorts. The donuts signal. Ok. Enough of that. I'm not even from around here yet I happen to find a Krispy Kreme. I'm from Connecticut. Back home there isn't one close by so I haven't had the pleasure of having Krispy Kreme in over 3 years. But believe me they're as good as I remember. Fresh & warm glazed off of the conveyor belt and a few raspberry filled glaze. A hazelnut coffee to top it off. Nice clean place. Bathrooms too. This is possibly the worst Krispy Kreme ever! I have gone there multiple times and the Kreme filled aren't even really filled. Made a complaint and still nothings changed. Every time I do go there is hardly ever any donut holes or much of a selection. You can order in the APP and when you get there they inform you that what you want they don't have. The service is okay other than today. Just not very friendly. Seems like we're bothering them at their job. My mom went in today and a gentleman who works there got an attitude with her cause they never have any cinnamon donuts holes and she asked when they thought they might get it back and he got an attitude saying we don't have any I told you! So the gentleman helping her said he wasn't sure when they were going to get them back, they might have them tomorrow they might not due to having issues with the cinnamon. read more

So I hate to do this over one doughnut, but I felt that it was important. Even though I will continue to shop here I just wanted to share something. I understand since after Covid, we've had to lowerour standards when it comes to customer service but here I am trying to teach this young manager, a lesson which she completely refused to acknowledge. Basically, I had a reward for a free donut mind I just purchased a dozen. She later tells me that their system is down and they cannot give out any rewards even though I showed her I ever heard a doughnut. Yes I could've paid for a doughnut, but I was trying to tell her that it is not my fault that their system down is that she should just give the customer a doughnut if they have their reward. She completely disagreed and said she doesn't know how to do that and I told her all she has to do is grab a doughnut. I told her you can even grab one of the ones you're gonna throw out because I had too much syrup but she denied. I told her a good manager would have given me a doughnut and she says I am a manager. Delicious! I've been wanting to go to check out Krispy Kreme for awhile now and seeing the "Hot now" sign this weekend finally prompted me to give it a chance. Once you go inside, you can see the behind the scenes of the fresh hot glazed donuts being made and it is actually mesmerizing. From the donut being fried on each side to it being glazed and cooled off, you are able to see each step. I ordered 2 hot glazed donuts and regret not getting more. They literally melt in your mouth and are absolutely amazing. Way better than Dunkin' Donuts. I will say I think these donuts would only taste good hot and I would probably never take home a dozen but definitely check this place out if the hot light is on! I also tried the brand new coffee glazed donut that they had out for free samples and was not a fan. You could barely taste the coffee which was disappointing. I'll stick to the delicious glazed but would like to come back to try the NY style cheese cake donut! Service is great and there's plenty of seating if you choose to go in a larger group. read more

So, Krispy Kreme has never been my favorite donut place, and that's okay, I can understand that it's just personally not my taste, but that's not why it gets one star from me. I ordered their new Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Swirl Donut online to be picked up in store because it looked delicious and I'm a big fan of all things pumpkin. When I get there, they did not have any, which was annoying, but I understand they probably cannot make new donuts at 8:30pm. They were out of a lot of donut flavors and I ended up getting a donut I didn't like. Today, I tried to call the store so I can ask if they have the donut I wanted before I go, but I found that there was no option to talk to a person directly from the store. Basically, there is no way to know what donuts they have online and you can't call them, so it's kinda ridiculous that you won't know what they have until you get there. There donuts already suck because they have that gritty sugar feel to them and taste just like solidified sugar, but they then make it impossible to know if they have any good donuts in stock.
