My Krispy Kreme memory for 2026! Franklin TN felt like Antarctica during the recent snow/ice storm. We lost four trees, the power checked out for a couple hours, and suddenly my kitchen was running on a very exclusive reservation only system called the fireplace. When life gives you an ice storm, you pivot. Breakfast options were limited, but morale was high. I lit a fire, grabbed a couple of Krispy Kreme donuts, and invented what I'm pretty sure is a new Southern survival cuisine: fireplace-warmed donuts. No microwave. No oven. Just good old-fashioned flames gently heating a glazed masterpiece. Let me tell you, crispy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside, with a subtle hint of "pioneer spirit." Absolutely delicious. To really elevate the experience, I paired it with a cup of hot chocolate loaded with an irresponsible amount of marshmallows. No power, no problem. Warm fire, warm donut, warm tummy. Honestly, it felt less like a disaster and more like a cozy lifestyle choice. Moral of the story: you are defined by how you look at situations in life. First off they have closed off the restrooms and the explanation was we don't want customers stealing the donuts in the aisle, There were various drink cups all around and two employees sitting there and no compassion for a small child who needed to use the bathroom. On top of that the employee was not friendly at all. When asked when there would be more donuts, was grumpily told "not until after 9:00" . I live in a world where donuts are either yeast donuts (KK) or cake donuts (Dunkin' - DD). It's just that simple. FWIW, cake donuts are for people who don't care about life, happiness, or others. Truly happy people will always pick KK over DD, unless you visit a location like the one on Mallory. I remember this place before COVID. It was busy. Service was slow, but smooth. Now? We had a great morning enjoying donuts at KK! They had little hats out for our kids and even gave them samples of donuts. We ordered a dozen glazed - had some there and brought some home for later. Great tasting glazed donuts. Look for the neon sign that lets you know that they have hot donuts. If they are making the donuts, it neat to sit and watch the donuts get made. They have viewing areas. Great activity for kids. If you are a student, they give a free donut for each A on your report card. Not helpful at all. Would not work with me on a coupon I had. They said I had to order online. So I did. Coupon said to scan discount at counter. They wouldn't even try. Poor service. Order filled incorrectly. Had to wait in line for 40 minutes to get order corrected. 40 minutes for 3 doughnuts and after I left I discovered the order was still wrong. Staff took new customers who just walked in to be served ahead of customers waiting in line. Staff did not appear to know how to fill orders and/or correct improperly filled orders. Both this location and the Thompson Lane location are really jokes in terms of customer service. At Thompson Lane location, on National Doughnut Day, we were told that they had run out of doughnuts. We have been Krispy Kreme customers for decades and these locations are pale shadows of the locations we have visited over the years. We stopped in an hour before closing the other night and they turned off the open light as we we pulled in. It was 8:00 but I know on-line it was listed as 9:00. Somebody needs to check that. Anyway, we came back tonight at 7:00 and the open sign was lit as well as the hot and fresh sign so I asked if we got a sample and of course we did. Fresh and hot! We ordered 2 pumpkin donuts and they were both very tasty. But I must say i had sticker shock. Where I live, we only have small, local owned donut shops or grocery stores and gas stations. Most of those range from $1 - $1.50 per donut. Here, the two donuts were $5.00 plus tax. More than I'm used to paying. Again, very good donuts but a bit pricy. This location is truly awful. I get a dozen donuts monthly to take first-year photos of my daughter and I have never successfully been able to place an order at this location. After waiting in at least a 30 minute line there's always something wrong when It's your turn to order (I should mention that they've closed the lobby and only the drive-through is open). So far the list of reasons why this location hasn't been able to place an order are 1. " We are sold out" - although, they had just opened 10 minutes before. 2. We only have original glazed. 3. We're only satisfying pre-ordered holiday donuts. And 4. Our computers are having difficulties but we can take your order in 20 minutes. Bottom line - if you're looking to take advantage of Krispy Kreme's assorted dozen option or really to get any donuts at all avoid this location. read more

I have never chosen to sit in a donut shop and hang out, but the other night changed the game for me. I was craving one of those melt-in-your-mouth original glazed donuts they have and by God's amazing grace the Hot & Ready sign was on. The experience was fantastic. The crew was fun, our donuts were incredibly fresh, and the store was clean. We sat and talked for a little while at a table and I may have a new go-to hangout spot. They have a drive-thru (I hate spelling it like that... but the other way looks weird) that I had been to several times, but going inside is a great way to get an idea of what donuts they have that are fresh and be a part of the experience. 5/5. 10/10. I'm NOT blaming the employees, but the coffee was barely lukewarm. A little cream made it even worse . They said they were not allowed to reheat it or microwave it for us. The employee said a new cup would be same temperature as the one we just got. Adding insult to injury, there is a prominent sign that warns customers about the extra hot coffee. This might seem picky, but hot coffee aficionados will understand the frustration of paying almost $3.00 for a cold cup of coffee and finding there is no way to fix it. read more

Everything from the floor, to the walls, to the ceiling, is absolutely foul. The poor man in front of us was grossly overcharged, and we had to wait 20 minutes for somebody to show up and take our order. When we ordered exactly what was on the menu, they told us they couldn't put it into the system. When we finally sat down outside with food and drinks that we didn't ask for, we could hear the drive through worker being so rude to every single customer. Of course, not every car got service, because after 20 minutes with no response, cars would drive away. The fact that workers can't be bothered to take orders from neither the customers inside nor outside, truly boggles the mind. Truly the worst "professional" experience of my life, beyond a shadow of a doubt, and we will never be going back. read more

They confirmed the order was received. I question why availability was shown online to allow the order to go through and charge my account. This is not the first time I have had a problem with this location and seeing the other reviews do not understand why management does not address the situations. What? Only three stars for a verified sugar high? Yep. It's a factory donut shop that churns out delicious, tender, hot, fresh-fried rings of dogs topped with more sugar glaze than a body should have in a week....but ya'll know we love donuts. And ya' already knew what this place was anyhoo. Love their National Donut Day freebie. Just step up and ask for your fave. I happened to buy a dozen for my family, then asked for an Apple Fritter for me, along with a cup of coffee. Coffee was pretty good while the Apple Fritter left much to be desired. Granted, I'm contrasting this chain shop with a friend's one-of-a-kind donut shop in LA (Mama's). My somewhat flat, swirl of fried dough had a pleasant apple-cinnamon flavor, glazed with the standard xxx-sugar coating. But, the main drawback was that it had no character whatsoever; something any other fired dough would-could have. To top it off (pun fully intended) there were only 5 pieces of 1/4 inch diced apple on the whole thing. #disappointing My family and I had a fun-for-all "taste-test" and ended up with the following descriptors for each of the donuts, all of which all had the same, light, soft & chewy body. --Strawberry Glaze...like any other artificial strawberry flavor. Very satisfactory for our 3-year-old judge. For the rest of us...meh. --Oreo Crumble...great topping but a weird filling that was gray and off-tasting. Ugh. Nobody finished this oddity. --Sprinkles...what you see is what you get. OK but it was the last chosen by the group to be tasted. (tells me something; how 'bout you?) S'ok. --Apple Crumb Pie Donut...nice cinnamon topping and tasty filling with nearly as many apple pieces, albeit smaller, as the fritter. Passable, but won't order again. --Cherry Pie Donut...this was the "cream of the crop" best texture and best flavor. Only shortcoming was the scanty filling. We would have loved more. Yes, we'd probably order it again. --Plain glazed. Their signature donut was probably their best in show. Simple, straightforward, chewy pillow of sweetness. Will we be back? Maybe on next National Donut Day. But in the meantime,we all are probably sticking to more individual bakeries that add character to their products with more exotic and definitive flavors. I had to walk to the establishment due to certain circumstances, and the dining was closed which was unfortunate. How the employees walked this altercation out was beyond disappointing and deeply sinful (for it was a Sunday morning) . And the staff truly left me and other guests dissatisfied in the production of the company. For we had ordered our donuts, and we had no car at the moment. AFTER we had payed for our food, the employees denied us, and would not give us food if we didn't have a car in the drive through. But we had walked so we had no car, and we had ordered.
