It was busy when we got to the tiny shop on Washington(Krispy Kremes are always clean and smell heavenly) but our order was ready! We were out the door in five minutes. This dozen donuts cost almost $18 before tax! Having just bought a dozen of the best mixed from Endonuts in N. Augusta for four dollars less, it wasn't hard to see Endonuts was winning the value for your money contest. They also ran away with the taste contest. Showed up on St. Patrick's day to get the free donut for wearing green, on top of trying the special holiday donuts. I get it they were packed, but a "Hi welcome to Krispy Kreme would have been nice at least. Person at the front desk told us to wait, and started chatting up people in line the behind us and took their order since they were "buds". Then once they took my order, they forgot the free green donut for wearing green. They saw me check the box then made a huge sigh, told me to step out of the line and wait off to the side for the free donut. The workers are lazy. We tried three times to go to this Krispy Kreme for hot donuts, and we even went during the specified times (5-7pm). Every time we went, the sign was not on, and when we ask the workers, they come up with different excuses. Stopped by to get some doughnuts the total was $8.01. Gave her a Twenty and she gave me $1.99 change. I said mam I gave you a twenty and she immediately said that I only gave her a $10. I told her that was Impossible because I just came from the ATM and only had $20's. She said well then you need to come inside. When I pulled around her and her manager were deep in conversation. The manager walked over to me and said you gave her a $10. I said no that would be impossible I just came from the ATM. She said I will go look on the camera. After about 10 minutes she returned and said the camera wasn't working. I said then I need to talk to your manager. She said I will count the drawer. She took the money and about 10 minutes later she said the drawer count was correct. Of course, no proof just what she said. Then I said I need to talk to you manager. She said she would call her. Immediately she returned and said her manager watched it on camera from home and I only gave her a $10. Now just a minute. You said the camera wasn't working. Then she said I can't see the camera on screen but my manager can. In other words they are thieves. The $10 doesn't make a difference to me, it's the principle and lies. I was getting off work at the urgent care right down the street and really wanted to stop by and get some donuts real fast but they were closed and it was only 10:29. By the looks of it they looked like they had closed at least 10 minutes before I even got there because the whole floor was already mopped, and all the seating was moved out the way. A chain is a chain, it's hard to stand out too much. I've been to a few Krispy Kreme's in my life and for some reason they are always along the worst traffic roads imaginable. Same with this one, but thankfully it was on the convenient side for me as I was passing along. I purchased a regular dozen through a fundraiser for another organization (but still official KK fundraiser site) and it gave me a code to use, so I went in and told the cashier that I had the code. He seemed confused but thankfully he tried the code without any sort of talkback about how that won't work. And it worked, got my dozen, and headed off shortly after. Not a painful experience but there were also no other customers in the building, maybe a few in drive thru but it was a slower time of day for them. The donuts weren't super fresh but tasted fresh enough (and barely lasted the drive home). The sitting area was cute, looked old fashioned, but felt a little sticky like all Krispy Kreme's are. I've been to this location 4 times. Each time has gotten better but it's still not great. The customer service has gone from really really bad to subpar. My most recent visit the employees were actually nice to talk to. I did go through the drive thru. I feel like they are always rushing me with my order and most of the time there is no one inside and no one behind me. That's not a fun feeling. When I get my donuts I expect them to look amazing and be fresh and fluffy since it's Krispy Kreme. Unfortunately at this location they are not. Their chillers are an awesome drink to cool you down in the summer and their seasonal Pumpkin Spice Doughnut is my favorite fall treat. I have two beautiful granddaughters that I order their favorite donuts from Krispy Kreme. I live out of state so when they do well in school I have their favorite treat delivered. The prissy drive through worker moaned about having to come serve in store customers. Everyone working had two speeds: slow and slower. They all had was seemed to be two attitudes: lazy and whatever. About 8 years ago I would have given this place a solid 4 to 5 for their donuts as they were so light and fluffy and they tasted divine. Now? Well I tried them a few times over the past year and this last time was the last as their quality as gone way wayyyyyyyyyy down and their donuts are now hard and they taste off for some reason. I've been coming to this location since I moved here about one year ago. Unfortunately, every time we order the cake batter filled doughnuts, they're not filled at all! It's a disappointment when you order an item based on the description and you get the complete opposite. I just want what I pay for! Has anyone else noticed this problem? The only time I have come to this Krispy Kreme and it was for holiday donuts during Christmas time. I was disappointed when it was my turn to place my order and was told they were out of their holiday donuts and all they had were the holiday minis. I settled for the box of minis which made my toddler super happy so that was a nice outcome. But aside from that, the experience wasn't all that great. The drive thru staff was rude and not extremely helpful. The location was also not easy to navigate into and out of. Fantastic. I mean who doesn't love a ridiculously sweet doughnut. I went during St. Patrick's Day to indulge in the infamous green doughnut. The donut was hot, fresh, and green. The coolest part about this location is the fact that you can see all the donuts when they are being made. The staff is friendly and quick. I was at this location yesterday. Picked up a dz glazed, 4 creme filled, 4 lemon filled at 12:30PM. Got home by 4PM & my husband & I were already anxious for our *treats*! He loves lemon & I love the creme filled. We both dug into our faves & had to spit it out. *Never have I ever" had a doughnut taste so rank!! We both immediately said, "UGH! Rancid oil!!"
