Love this place! Used to take my daughter to one in Vegas when we lived there so she could watch the piping hot doughnuts come out and go down the conveyor belt. I'm not sure if you've ever bought the ones for baseball teams that were cold and a bit hard. The glazed are my favorite. Melt in your mouth deliciousness. I get a lemonade chiller to cut through some of the sweetness with a nice tarty bite. I always leave this place with a sugar buzz but it's completely worth it! read more

While walking in, I was stopped in my tracks by signs outside advertising a Nutella donuts. SOLD. (Bye bye, classic, see you another day.) I got inside and asked for a Nutella donut. The girl asked me, "Which kind would you like?" Great. "There's more than one kind of Nutella donut?" Am I in a Black Mirror episode right now? NOPE, it was true. They (currently) carry a regular ring and a hazelnut cream stuffed Nutella donut. "Fine, give me two of each," I said (life is so tough sometimes). The girl was very friendly and chatty. (If you've read my other reviews, you know I'm big on customer service and so far, this place earns top marks.) Now to the product itself: ALMOST there. I'm certainly no donut (or even pastry) connoisseur but I know a little staleness when I taste it and these were acceptable but not QUITE what I expect from Krispy Kreme. By no means were they bad enough to return (the thought of me returning anything involving Nutella is hilarious) but they could've been softer. Ordered 2 dozen donuts on Sunday January 10th an hour and a half before closing and I showed up at 7:30 pm, a half hour before their website says they close, to a dark building. The website hours are wrong and do not match the locations signs. I called 6 times from outside because I saw workers rummaging about inside to no answer. I had to knock on the door to get anyone to acknowledge me. I was told they closed at 7 (against what their website says) and that they had already refunded my order because they didn't have any donuts. That would have been really nice to know before I drive from Eagle River to pick up donuts. You have to tell them your phone number to make an online order. Horrible customer service on their part for not calling and notifying, but they sure didn't hesitate to take my money and waste my time and gas! read more

With the lack of donut options in town, I've actually gone without eating a donut for what seems like a year, while waiting for this place to open. Went here at 6:30am the Friday of the week that they opened to get 3 dozen to bring to work, and there was a small, but quickly moving line. The staff had the system down pat - in no time I got my 2 boxes of hot, fresh, glazed donuts, and box of assorted. Brought them into work and let's just say they didn't last long, and I was instantly popular! The warm glazed donut was exactly as I had remembered them to be - light, fluffy, and sugar-coma inducing. Yum. I can only eat one, then I'm done. Went back a couple weeks later with my husband and the line was significantly longer, but since they now had a line for glazed only and for all else, the line went very fast. This time I tried the glazed chocolate cake donut. This was the moistest cake donut I have ever eaten, and surprisingly not oily or too sweet. Are these as good as VooDoo donuts? No, but really, that's an entirely different category all together. I love tasty, warm, fresh donuts, and now we finally have a place in Anchorage that fits the bill. YAY! read more

So Uhm. News flash. It's Krispy fucking Kreme. It's the same Krispy Kreme you'd find in Florida or you'd find in North Carolina. Stop complaining. Alaska is slowly and steadily coming up. Slowly.... lol. Nah but just get fresh donuts and you good. When they fresh the originals are dank as hell. The other ones besides original are whateva. I was thrilled to finally get a KK in town. The staff is all very friendly. The donuts are very good if they have them made. I usually go when they open their doors in the morning. Three times that I have been there the original glazed donuts are not ready. Seems strange not to have your original donuts ready when you open the door. Two of the times I waited 10 minutes for them to come out. The third time it happened to me I decided I won't be going back. I will be going back to golden donuts. read more

I love the donuts here and have had good experiences but have been disappointed when they have special donuts. If the photo of the donut has a special design, and eyeball, or says filled, then when I order that donut it should be exactly as presented. This morning we ordered a Mumford monster donut and when I received it it didn't have an eyeball or teeth and it was thrown in a bag so it was smashed into his brothers donut. We get donuts weekly and the taste is delicious but you really need to work on the specialty donuts. This wasn't the first time this has happened, the snowmen were never filled and they said it ruined the design but when i asked for them to fill it, it always still looked fine. Did the drive-through on Halloween to grab some maple glaze donuts. Total came out to $8.25. I paid $10 cash. The friendly cashier at the window handed me my receipt and one quarter and then darted out of site like her a$$ caught on fire. Brought my nephew here as he hadn't ever had a fresh Krispy Kreme donut and it's a rite of passage now that there is a KK location in town. We both are very familiar with the donuts used for fundraisers back in the day, but now the donuts are available for all. We came in 15 minutes before the joint closed and were able to go through the drive thru. We both ordered the maple glazed but I made him get the original glazed so he could enjoy the full experience. He thought it was way better than the maple glazed and I have to agree. The donut holes are a close second to the donut as they are the holes to the donut and come in a nifty little cup, I just think they are a little messy being glazed and all. First time to this place and what a sh** show! there were folks waiting in line for 30min+ as well as a line for the drive through and suddenly their point of sale system goes down so no one can pay with a credit or debit card. No one understands the problem or knows what to do or tries to check their connection. The worst is THEY DONT TELL THE PEOPLE IN LINE! They let us use a check because we didn't have cash but they didn't know how to handle a check. The woman behind us didn't have cash or a check and the manager yelled at her when she complained that she had waited in line for a half hour and didn't know she needed cash. I am appalled by the extremely poor customer service and handling of this issue and really disappointed with my experience. read more

I got curious and tried the new Krispy Kreme in town. Love the doughnuts! The doughnuts were fresh and warm. The staff service was ok, although the wait was a bit long. It's already been two weeks since it opened and the line still feels as if it's the first day. But overall, I still love the place, definitely worth the wait. read more

I asked how fresh the donuts were, the reply was "they were made, "probably this morning", the time was 6:45 pm. We asked for 2 cups of their "fresh brewed" coffee and we're told they weren't making any coffee because it was "too slow of a day". They had over two more hours until the store closed...I'm guessing the girl who was getting a jump on her closing checklist didn't want to dirty the coffee brewer she was cleaning. By far the best donuts! Krispy Kremes literally melt in your mouth and they are the perfect size. I went today and there was no line, and no fuss. The only downside is there is only one location, and driving to the East Side of Anchorage is an absolute pain but today was definitely worth it. Had a great experience! read more

I didn't find the doughnuts from the display case particularly fresh. Maybe because it was mid-afternoon, but they were OK. The coffee, however, was undrinkable. I hope I just caught them on a bad day, but I'm probably not going back anytime soon, so I may never know. read more

Not living up to all the hype. Their little warm glazed donuts did not live up to my expectation. They were lighter than Holiday, who makes their donuts from scratch daily, but the glaze was sickly sweet. Reminding me of how a cheap frosting can mess up a good cake. Considering texture flavor topping the other local establishment, whose donuts just happen to come in at twice the size, Golden Donuts gets a 9.5 to Krispy Kreme's 4. I won't be returning. I was here about 2 weeks ago and ordered a dozen original glazed but asked to swap just one for a different donut. Sure, no problem. I was charged $12.50 for the original glazed dozen. Today I go and order the same. I'm asked to pay $14.50. (Assorted dozen pricing). The price on the specialty donut was 1.75 on the order board at drive thru. If i buy an entire dozen plus the donut separately then Math = $14.25. When i get to the window I tell the guy I will just pay the $12.50 for the entire original dozen and get the extra donut on the side separately. He says that donut is 1.95. I let him know that's not what the sign says, but I will pay whatever i owe and just not order that way again since they are not consistent with pricing. He heavy sighs, tells me "I just take one day at a time. It may have been human error your last visit, that's my opinion." Ummmm excuse me wtf? What does your opinion or how you take each day have anything to do with what just happened? Then I get home with my dozen plus one and these donuts are not fresh or warm at all actually cold like they came out of a fridge. Way too many other local places to get good donuts and spend my money. Don't waste your time at this corporate chain with employees that give zero you know what's. read more

I received the tasty doughnuts I expected....the downside.... I was in line, of only 4 cars, at the drive through and it took over 40 minutes to get my order. We got an assorted 12 count, and it was perfect. The original glaze was fresh and hot off the conveyor belt.
