    Monday lunch plate
    Grace L.

Heard about the $5 lunch plate here, and I couldn't resist a good deal! I came here after my class, and the owner, who is absolutely lovely, took my order. I found out that $5 is actually a suggested donation since he did not ask me and the other customers in line to pay. However, I still donated via Venmo because I wanted to support him! I only waited around 5 minutes before he personally handed me my order. Since I came on a Monday, my lunch plate included rice, kabocha coconut curry, chickpea curry, corn chips, strawberry halava dessert, and lemonade! For $5, you get so much for amazing value! As for the food, everything was so tasty! It was my first time trying all the food items in my lunch plate, and everything was super flavorful! I really enjoyed the chickpea curry the most. I also loved the strawberry halava dessert!! I never tried halava before, so I was pleasantly surprised when it was lightly sweet with a nice strawberry flavor. Lemonade was tangy and sweetened perfectly too. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend giving this food truck a try! The owner is an absolute sweetheart serving delicious food at a very affordable price. As a broke college student, I'm definitely coming here more often lol. Please come and support this wonderful business!

Govinda, the owner of this food truck, is a true hero. He runs this truck as a personal mission to do his part in battling food insecurity. His plates are priced at $5 (but really, this is a suggested donation and he never turns you away if you're in need). Everything in the truck is vegan, partly due to his religious beliefs (Hare Krishna) and partly to accommodate every srudents' dietary preferences. Each plate is packed with flavor, nutrition, and love. He runs a set menu for each day of the week. It always comes with a glass of lemonade and chips. Don't worry about the portion sizes. You're sure to leave satisfied. But most importantly, the owner is a genuinely good person. He always stands outside his food truck, personally greeting customers and taking their orders. He takes great pride in his work and is always ecstatic to share updates about how his business is doing and how much he is helping his community. I've spoken to him many times and he understands the food insecurity crisis that students face, hence the pricing and proximity to UCLA. In order to break even, he must sell 70 plates daily, so please frequent this place as much as you can.

I've eaten at this truck several times since it's been open and what I love most is the concept. A place where college students and the public can purchase a healthy balanced vegan meal for a mere $5 donation! I should also note that I've seen students who didn't have it receive their meal free of charge! And the guy running the truck is the sweetest, his energy is so loving- you can can tell he genuinely loves what he's doing. The meal usually consists of some type of vegan curry, rice and beans, a dessert and a lemonade! You can also purchase samosas and a few other desserts when available! I like how they add the corn tortilla chips on top for those of us who want a little crunch! I'm at UCLA often, so I've seen this truck grow over the years but one thing that stays consistent is the warmth that radiates from this man every time he hands you your food!

In 1995 the price was $5. Its 2025 and the price is $5. This is a great spot to grab lunch. Everyone is friendly. Your meal even comes with lemonade. I have been here a few times already. I will be back.

OMG this truck is the bomb! Tucked into a lot on Le Conte near Broxton. Great food, can't beat the price! Super friendly people running it. Thanks to the Krishna community

The sign doesn't list any prices, so I was surprised when the total was $15. I asked before I left how much one taco was, just to make sure it wasn't a mistake, and the cashier said $3 something. Rice and beans as a side must have been $4-5. The price was not ideal but makes sense considering it's Westwood and service was fast. I brought my tacos home to eat and was disappointed to see that the beans had spilled through the hole in the lid and the salsa/juice from tacos was leaking from the taco plate. It made a huge mess getting it out of the bag onto my table. Be careful opening because it was not packaged well. They should especially consider getting different containers for rice and beans. The tacos were fully topped with onions and cilantro, and they included a side of grilled onions, limes, and two salsas. I would much rather top it myself, but this worked okay. The pollo and asada were average, not much flavor and a lot of taco juice making the tortilla wet. The pastor was just bad; I didn't finish it. Very dry, not much flavor. Rice and beans were fine. Better luck going to other well known stands in West LA. There's room for improvement here, but it is in a convenient spot. Probably will only come back for a Taco Tuesday deal.

He just seems like a very caring person. The food was amazing, especially the chicken tikka masala. It's incredible. They also use chicken breast which is great. They also validate parking in the garage adjacent to the restaurant. It is always frustrating to find your new favorite place when you move, so I am glad to have found the spot! It is hard to find a restaurant that you can go to for different formalities, from casual to formal, from friends to your spouse, but they have done it with their service and ambience. I will for sure come back many times!

Every time we dine here, the service is attentive, the food is consistently delicious, the prices are more than fair. We always end our meal with the same reaction of "I'm glad we came here, that was delicious!" The space is tastefully perched on the 2nd floor providing an escape from the busyness of Wilshire Blvd below and a sense of calm during our meal. We are fans of the booth seating next to the large windows which offer an elevated change of scenery. We look forward to joining them for the $14.99 AYCE lunch buffet, which at that price point seems like a steal given the authenticity and high quality of food they are offering. Thank you again for being what I consider a staple in the Brentwood dining community!
