    Chicken Tikka Masala
    Miguel G.

I went in at around 11 AM so it wasn't too busy.. I decided to go to a random restaurant in the Westwood area and decided on Bollywood Bites not expecting anything too crazy to be honest but man was I wrong. I promptly got seated and given the menu and not too long after my order was taken, I decided to go with Chicken Tikka Masala with a side of naan, service was fast & food was brought out steaming and smelling good. I immediately dug in to the chicken to taste it and was immediately shot with creamy tomato flavor.. I had to mix that sauce with the rice immediately just so good! If you're in area it's definitely a must try and one of my favorites now. Amazing vibes too.

For 6 years my husband and I didn't see our friend who lives in Washington D.C. Fortunately, he was here and we went to have a dinner. He loves Indian food, when he saw this place he liked in the first sign. The food is really tasty, they don't ask how spicy could be, okay? The service is very nice and friendly. And ambiance is bold, colorful. You can see many artists had enjoyed the food. Many pictures on the wall. The price is good for the neighborhood. Just to park you need a little time.

Dined in for lunch on 3/13/25 with friends/coworkers. We always enjoy eating here. There's only 1 person who takes care of the customers and he is efficient. He always has a smile and very helpful. During lunchtime, it has always been the same waiter and he's friendly and provides great service. We always order lunch special which is a great value. They also offer great options from chicken, seafood and vegetarian options as well. I love the shrimp masala. This time I tried the chicken masala and it was delicious! I also love the naan bread! If naan was the only thing they had, I would be happy to eat just the naan, that's how delicious their naan is. I always get the garlic naan. The ambiance is relaxing, this time, the restaurant was full so it was loud. The restaurant is clean. They are located across the street from Whole Foods near UCLA. I would like yo try their ayce on Saturday one day. If you like Indian food, this place is worth the try. Parking on the street.

I haven't been to India, so I can't speak as to whether Bollywood Bites is authentic or not. I can only speak to whether the food aligned with my taste buds or not. And it did. Stopped in for dinner with a friend last week. I have to admit, on the way, I'm sending text messages asking about parking. Told that there was a lot of street parking, I was still anxious. But when I got there, there was quite a available spots. I don't know what the enforced hours are - but I'd rather pay the few bucks and avoid the fine. There's a Whole Foods across the street that looks like it has a parking garage. I don't know if that's paid or timed - gonna have to see for yourself. Walked in. Pretty empty. My friend at one table and another party - just finishing up. Not a large place but would easily accommodate a small party - not sure how it would work for a large group though. Probably would have to call well ahead and make reservations. If that's even possible. Service was fine. Again, not quite attentive but there when needed. Friendly. explained the menu and dishes. Refills, etc. Then the food - which I enjoyed. I thought it would be spicy as in hot. And though it wasn't, the flavors made up for it. The meats were tender and juicy. The greens were crisp. The sauces and dips were more than enough for the dish. And I loved the Garlic Naan. I kept eating the bread even after I was full. I don't make it out to Westwood often so coming back for me is in the undecided column. I don't eat Indian food often but I know about this place as an option should I ever have a craving.

    Chole Bhatura and Chicken 65

Literally the best Indian food in LA. When you ask for spicy, it's real Indian spicy food! The samosa, lamb biriyani, chole bhatura, chicken 65, and dal makhni are so good, oh my god! Took me back home!

    Chicken Vindaloo Garlic Naan
    Anisha D.

My husband loved going here when he worked for UCLA several years back. I had to go to LA for my passport and decided to come here for lunch. I ordered the fish pakodas, chicken vindaloo and garlic naan. The fish was very soft and fried very well. It was delicious in taste, alongside mint and tamarind chutney. The chicken vindaloo was flavorful. The potatoes were soft and the masala was mixed in very well. The garlic naan was soft and crispy. The vibe of the place is great as-is the food. Looking forward to coming back again and again.

The receipt : Price not worth the food served

Food = (-10) Service = (3) Ambiance = (3) slow and empty for the night before Thanksgiving 2024 About 1/10-1/20 through the meal, it was noticeable this WAS NOT Salmon. Catfish was served...... Ask the waiter what white fish was presented to me. Waiter's response,"a white fish..." My response, 'what white fish?' Waiters response, "a white fish..." My response, 'what white fish is this, because this definitely is not Salmon.' Waiter's response, "it's Catfish, we do not serve Salmon here anymore." My response, 'this is not Catfish, and why did you not disclose to me the restaurant has discontinued serving Salmon?' To the owner, please just take it off the menu or disclose what is accurate and true on the menu. The waiter asked what to do, I said nothing and it was just downhill from there. I finished my meal, paid in full, no tip, left and will never patronize again.

    Saag Paneer
    Daph H.

When my local Indian restaurant no longer became an option, we decided to try Bollywood Bites. To be honest, we probably would have tried this place earlier if not for the corny name. I placed an order online through their website. Oddly enough, there is no way to pay for your order online. You can either pay cash/card at pick up or have someone call you back for a credit card number. They have lunch bowl specials that are listed online as being $8.50, but when you pick up, you get charge more - I think $9.50 for vegetarian bowls and $10.50 for ones with meat. They have several different entrees available for the bowls, which are served on top of rice. We've only had the saag paneer and chicken saag, which are both good. I like that the meat on the chicken saag is always tender. I would not recommend the veggie naan wrap, which was completely underwhelming - mostly peas and carrots, with some cauliflower, and lettuce, wrapped in naan. I've been used to the frankies from Bombay Frankie, and this was pretty flavorless in comparison. Be sure to check out the wall of pics with the chef with various celebrities like Michael Jackson, Al Gore and Wolfgang Puck. Metered street parking out front and free two-hour parking in the Broxton parking lot before 5pm.

It was also annoying for the waitress (not the gal that served us btw - a host perhaps) to give the vibe like they were doing us a favor by applying the $50 Birthday promo that THEY send via email (note, I verbally this flagged when we arrived just in case - but they didn't initially have it on our bill). My head is thinking "calm down--we ate minimally and got drinks. Don't offer it if you're going to have an attitude about adjusting the bill". It was just weird. They also didn't offer any bday dessert treat but we weren't super pressed bc we were so full. The meat was a bit overdone and all kind of tasted the same this visit. Didn't get to try the lamb chops and a few other meats, but still has a nice variety. Salad bar is top notch and consistent, although wish their black beans were plain due to all the meat. Drinks were ok--heavy pours but lower quality wine. The $29 "Wine Experience" package was worth it for my husband who likes variety of wines with his dinner depending on what he's eating. I'm sure I'll come again but it's been bumped a few notches on my Go To list.

What we ordered- We always start with the duck hummus and chicken liver, rich, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with their fluffy pita. The lamb neck shawarma is a non-negotiable, falls right off the bone, juicy, and comes with the perfect accompaniments. We also got the grilled dorade and oyster mushrooms, both are consistently excellent. This time we swapped our usual shrimp for the crudo and peach salad, and honestly, both were amazing. Still team shrimp overall, but it just goes to show you really can't go wrong with anything on this menu. Service is always attentive and the ambiance is upscale with lots of natural lights and greenery. Parking - There is valet parking and a pay to park lot across the street by Girl and the Goat. While there is street parking in the area, I've noticed a lot of smashed glass from break ins. (I've also had my car broken into before by the pottery studio ... they stole my pink picnic blanket)

Because of Bavel's outstanding reputation, we were excited to celebrate such a special occasion here. The food was excellent, and our server was attentive and professional. Unfortunately, the dining environment significantly detracted from what should have been a memorable evening. Our party of seven was seated at the chef's table directly adjacent to the open-flame kitchen on a day when temperatures were around 90 degrees. The heat at our table was overwhelming, especially for those seated with their backs to the kitchen. Several members of our party, including elderly family members, were extremely uncomfortable throughout much of the meal. Adding to that, the constant shouting of orders from the kitchen made it difficult for our family to have conversations during our daughter's engagement celebration. We understand that many guests enjoy sitting near an open kitchen, but on this particular evening the combination of the kitchen heat and what appeared to be inadequate air conditioning made the experience far less enjoyable than we expected. Even our son and his family, who have dined at Bavel many times, commented that this was not consistent with their previous experiences. Bavel's food deserves its reputation, but comfort is also an important part of a fine dining experience. Unfortunately, the excessive heat and noise overshadowed what should have been a joyful family celebration. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues so future guests can enjoy the exceptional meal in a more comfortable environment.

Service was AMAZING and for this reason alone I would absolutely return. They made us feel very welcomed especially given our food restrictions (I have some allergies while another person in our party is vegan), which was very impressive. All the staff there were friendly and helpful. We had tons of questions about booking a large reservation in the future which they were so sweet about answering. Ambiance was very chill! Lots of seating options, wasn't busy for a late lunch, and everything seems very organized too. This place honestly seems great for both small parties and bigger parties of people. Last but not least, the food! We didn't get to try the kbbq this time but I love that there are tons of options on the menu. We got several dishes like kimchi fried rice (my friend's), cold noodle, beef brisket hot soup, garlic fries. Everyone was in agreement that it was all delicious. Definitely coming back for the kbbq next time! PARKING is important to mention too. If you can find free street parking consider yourself lucky! There is a garage with the entrance next to it that says "PARKING" which they had us pay $20 with cash or Venmo. Parking guy said we had 2 hours to return with a receipt from the restaurant so they'd give us $10 cash back (essentially making parking $10 or $20 if you go over the limit). Inside the restaurant it does say $5 parking on the wall which we asked about but this only applies on Mondays to Fridays, and we came on a Saturday. I'll add a photo of this. I did consider removing a star for the whole parking situation but I'll keep it for now. Other than the parking being a pain (as is typical for the area), we loved it here.

I recommend the ribeye! IMO it's better than their featured tomahawks flavor wise. Comes with two filets for like $65.
