The building and surrounding grounds are all very nicely done, the store itself is nicely laid out as well. The candles come in all sizes and fragrances imaginable, so there are endless options to choose from. While the quality of the candles is certainly there, the price is reflective of that. Although they do have occasional sales, I personally find them to be generally high priced, but I'm sure there are other people that find their prices to be okay. That said, I do recommend stopping in for the experience and judging for yourself. There is plenty of parking, handicapped accessable and it has clean public restrooms. What can I say? Five weeks before Christmas and the office is doing Secret Satan, oops Freudian slip... Secret Santa. The name I drew (again) asked for candles and since I'm 2800 miles from home I made the trek to Bernsrdston to see if I could score some something different from the offerings back in Nevada. The helpful and courteous staff was right there when I needed assistance. Lord of scents and styles for your candle shopping. Seriously, check out the clearance area. What a beautiful place! A friend brought me out here yesterday (1 1/2 hour drive). I've been wanting to go here for years! They have a huge assortment of candles (I think they're all soy based, if not most of them are). I must have spent an hour just smelling all the different scents. Most of them smelled amazing (except for the floral ones, those give me a headache). They also had lots and lots of Christmas decorations and they were all so beautiful. There was also an entire area with food gifts...chocolates, flavored olive oils, teas etc. I really enjoyed visiting Kringle and would love to come back sometime. read more

I don't know if this is true, but I had once heard Kringle Candle was started by former owners of Yankee Candle, wanting to get back into the candle business. There are a lot of similarities, so I can see where that would be true or urban myth. The store is built like a maze so you can walk through the kitchen area with olive oil and tea displays, and into the candle gallery with Christmas disco balling in the back. Clearance is as far as you can into the back, behind Christmas. The final room before the registers is housewares, which includes (to my amusement) the Kringle socks for men. The employees were all nice, and let us shop on our own without being overly present. The bathrooms were spic and span, with a lovely echo on the overhead radio. Finally, the all important candles - a lot of great scents, some "what were they thinking" (junk food?), and they look very elegant on display. read more

I have visited Kringle Candle for years. This time on December 3 we made reservations at The Farm Table which was fantastic and then went to the Candle store afterwards. I was so surprised with the lack of general merchandise in the store I used to shops for many holiday gifts here but the selection was little to nothing for selection for general merchandise. It appears from a shopping perspective that they might close. I wish they would go back to the shop they were in the past. read more

Customer service for this company is terrible. I attempted to contact them via phone and e-mail with no response. My complaint was regarding a candle order I had placed. All of my candles in my 100 dollar order failed. The wicks pop leaving black soot every where. I had to throw away all of my candles for failure to stay lite. The wax floods the flame in all my candles. I will no longer be purchasing any candles from this company again. read more

We stopped at Kringle Candle Company while on an East Coast road trip. We had a ball wandering through the store. The candles are beautiful and smell amazing. They have other gifts too, making it a great place to pick up a gift or indulge yourself on something for the home. Wish I had a Kringle Candle Company close to me. My wife and I recently got to stop in to Kringle Candle. Amazing place! Founded by Mike Kittredge III, he is well on his way of following in his father's footsteps. For those that don't know, Mike's Dad founded Yankee Candle. What I like most, other than the candles and the unique choice of only white wax with premium fragrance oils, was that the organization feels like Yankee Candle used to. I used to work for YC when Mike K was the owner and the culture of that company couldn't be beat. From talking to the staff at Kringle Candle, I can see that the same is happening here. Kringle Candle is a lovely little place to visit. It is very similar to Yankee Candle's Deerfield location in concept (and for obvious reasons of which you are surely already aware). However Kringle is less commercialized (you can't just go to Bed, Bath & Beyond and pick one up) and more contained. It has not yet become overwhelming to peruse and the setting is more, in a word "tasteful." Kringle has a nice showroom which isn't overly crowded which makes for an enjoyable shopping experience. The setting is not so expansive as you'll be lost running around. I am fascinated by the day lights, the Kringle version of the votive. It's amazing how much of a sent they will give off in a room. One of the perks of the Kringle Candle is the packaging. Most scents come in white so if you are a stickler for symmetry or home design you can pick any scent for any room. Also most containers are reusable. The short tumblers are actually used as water glasses in the on site restaurant, the tall tumblers are used for larger drinks. You can try this at home and it does indeed work. Also in site Is the Farm Table restaurant which is worth checking out when you are there. There is a small chocolate cottage with ore-packaged chocolates and sweets you may or may not have run across in various stores. There is also a store that offers thing a you will have seen around other places (eg. lollipops, tea pots) and some you may not have seen. It's worth going through, and if you are a fan of loose leaf tea there are several to choose from here at very reasonable prices. I believe Kringle is worth the trip. read more

Kringle Candle has to be my favorite candle company of all time. This company makes incredible candles that burn perfectly. They have a incredible amount of scents, and I appreciate the fact that their candle wax is white. These candles are classy, and they never have that weird oily smell when being burned. Every Christmas I make sure to stock up on their Christmas scents, and I make it a point to burn them every night. Their selection of tea light and day light candles are amazing, and they have such a great selection of scents, that our office burns a new scent daily. One of my favorites scents has to be "Camp Fire". The stores are gorgeous, they have a great selection of non-candle items as well, and I make it a point to buy some of their unique tree ornaments. If you are also looking for chocolates, teas, or different types of olive oils, then their Country Barn is the place to stop. They have a ton of toys in their loft which make great birthday presents as well. The icing on the cake is that the staff at Kringle is always polite and helpful. read more

This was a really well laid out candle store, with a huge variety of assorted gifts, products, and related paraphernalia as well. Have been to Yankee Candle many times - this was not as crowded and honestly probably laid out better. While I've purchased Yankee Candles my entire life, some of the Kringle scents are better than what I've found at Yankee and I'll happily be back to buy these whenever I need more. I grew up in MA and went to Yankee Candle all the time. Kringle in a nice addition to the area. Who knew candles were so popular in New England? I was really impressed with the set design, I'll call it. The thought and effort into the displays is superb. In both the regular store and the Christmas store. What's nice is there is a crossing guard to help people safely across the street to the other stores. There are only two small downsides to this place (but both are personal). I am very particular about my candle scents and there are very few that I could consider buying. Also, I was a bit allergic to the place. Too many smells, my nose was a sneeze fest. But I knew that from my Yankee Candle days. Cool place. Definitely worth checking out. Christmas all year round! read more

What a fun place to visit. We were in the area and were sightseeing and ended up at this gift shop. It was full of many you many many fragrant candles in all sizes and shapes and colors and you had your choice of just about any fragrance you would like. As well as the candles they had a room with olive oils and vinegars and candy and other foods that were fun to try and to buy. They had books and other gift items such as dishes and linens that were nice to look at. They also had bags and scarves and small pieces of furniture. It was fun to go through and the people there were very very nice. I have to mention that outside of the building the landscaping was absolutely stunning. The plants were huge and beautiful and perfectly kept. It is worth a trip just to enjoy that if you are a gardener or a lover of flowers and their beauty. read more

We saw all of the cars and a tour bus so we stopped to check it out. This is a large place with four or five rooms. Most rooms are filled with candles, but they also sell things for the home, perfume and gourmet foods. The crowd of shoppers tends to be on the elderly side so you need to have patience when you get behind someone with a walker. One of the former owners of Yankee Candle started this place and you can definitely notice the similarities. There is a country store and restaurant across the street that is worth visiting as well. read more

My boyfriend and I made a "quick" stop at Kringle Candle and were greeted by the sweetest ladies, Marcia and Marie. Their professionalism quickly set the tone for an AMAZING experience. The scents of the candles were far better than Yankee Candle (I visited yesterday). "Flannel" and "Cheers" were exceptional! We spent a majority of the visit with Kevin at the oils and vinegar section. Kevin is such a gem and created pairings that far exceeded my expectations. I ended up buying 8 bottles or oils and vinegars. He's extremely knowledgeable and customizes pairings to your tastebuds. If your order is lost even if you file for package protection your OUT OF LUCK. If you've ever bought a Yankee Candle and enjoyed the scent, then you're going to love Kringle Candle (a company started by the son of the man who started Yankee Candle). I won't begin to describe how the wax is composed, and why it burns and smells better than most candles, but you'll have to try them out for yourself. They always have good deals at this location as well as on their website. The store itself has plenty of room to move around and sample the scents, and even has a "man-cave" for the guys to relax in while the ladies are sniffing around. James Bond was playing on the flat screen when I walked in. Be sure to also sign up for their email to keep up to date on all of the latest scents and deals. They don't overwhelm you with emails, and it's great information for the candle enthusiast. read more

So here is the story for those that dont know. This is owned by the same family who owned Yankee Candle Factory. They have since sold yankee candle and have ventured out to top it. I have to say that I believe they have. My experience shopping within this beautiful facility was both enjoyable and therapeutic. It is a beautfully built building. Inside the first thing one will notice is that all of the candles are white. Regardless of the flavor, they maintain a clean look and when burned the flavors are also clean and "not overpowering". There is a hint of Christmas themed decor but only slightly and not in a manner that gets annoying in July. The displays are creative and fun. I found myslef wanting to sit next to the lit fireplace in a rocking chair just so I could comfortably take in all of the sights. My son enjoyed the realistic looking stuffed anuimals posed throughout the establishment. Everything from baby lambs to polar bears to moose. While these realistic looking toys were somewhat pricey, a portion of the proceeds goes to conservation efforts throughout the US. I could honestly shop here year round and feel comfortable and happy spending money on these candles that have brought me tranquility as they have burned within my home. This trip I picked out a vanilla/mint scent and a pancake breakfast scent. The prices were far more reasonable than I have found at Yankee Candle. I purchase these two large sized candles for 15 dollars a piece. The other aspect of this place that I enjoyed was that all of the candles come in re-usable containers. You just pick how you want your scent delivered- in a canning jar, bowl, decorative mug etc. I'm sure the next question about this establisment will be about the service. This too was outstanding. We arrived on a Sunday morning at 10am, just as they were opening. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. It is like the owners identified all of the barriers within Yankee Candle (overwhelming scents, over priced candles, inconsistent service delivery) and have presented the solutions to these barriers in the form of healthy competition. This is what Yankee Candle used to be like. Mike III has done a fabulous job...not to mention emulate his dear father...with this store. High quality candles, beautiful environment, and an appealing size. It's not overbearing. On a personal note, my father blessed the ground at the groundbreaking of YC's first building in '83. I've known Mike II for years and wish him well in his recovery from his recent medical issue. His kindness to me in my childhood, not to mention his friendship with my father, is a pleasant childhood memory. Can't wait to try The Farm Table restaurant. Very excited to see Kringle Candle flourish. I believe the Kitteredges know candles and will be a formidable competitor to YC as years go by. read more

Many of the scents are similar to its Yankee Candle counterpart, but Kringle has a decidedly more high-end look and feel to it. On my most recent visit to MA last October, I drove up to peruse the store and chatted with a very friendly employee about the beautiful merchandising in the store. She mentioned there are multiple visual merchandisers and someone is in every single day building and moving displays around in order to keep things looking fresh and interesting. Aside from plethora of candle scents (all of which are smartly done in pure white wax, so there's no chance of liking a scent but not necessarily the color of the candle), the store carries seasonal merchandise, kitchen gadgets and sundries, and even has a large section specifically designed with men's items and more masculine candle scents. For those with sensitive noses and find Yankee Candle stores too olfactory overload, unfortunately you'll probably run into the same problem with Kringle. I personally find Kringle a bit more tolerable in that respect... not sure if it's the more open floor plan or perhaps they have a more powerful ventilation system. Across the street is another building which is a Christmas shop year 'round plus a large toy store. Adjacent to that is the Farm Table restaurant which, although a bit pricey, is a lovely establishment as well. read more

I am not much of a family oriented mega candle complex kinda person, but I went to Farm Table here for brunch and loved it. Afterwards, we reluctantly walked through the candle buildings. I have to say, as someone who just HATES scented candles (I haven't bought one since that nasty vanilla one in 1971 that ate a hole in my brain along with that hit of bad blotter acid I ate that summer) I like Kringle candles. In fact, one is burning right now in my place here in Boston. Somehow, Kringle captured the concept of a scented candle to perfection - just enough very clean and pleasent scent to be noticed occasionally, rather than blowing your brain out. Kringle Candle is awesome. Unlike other candle places, Kringle Candle is relaxed and quaint, giving a sense of old New England along with fun smelly candles. The candles vary here: you can make your abode smell of Christmas, or hot chocolate, or various fruits. The sizes of the candles are quite nice and affordable, ranging from votives to massive super candles. They also have an awesome Christmas shop and a chocolate shop, where you can get all types of wares. The Christmas shop is particularly cool: not only can you find Christmas decorations and nutcrackers, but there is a whole floor devoted to toys. Most of these toys are the toys kids get in 1950s Christmas films: hand made stuff. No Wiis, Tickled Elmos, Cabbage Children, Lexus cars with bows on them, or Star Wars. So cool stuff, basically. There's also The Farm Table, but that deserves its own review. Basically, make the drive up to Bernardston and you won't be disappointed. read more

I love candles. I can't have enough of them. The large Kringle candles are a little too much for my candle budget but there's an entire room dedicated to Kringle "day" candles. These little buggers are only about $3, last 12 hours, and come in dozens and dozens of varieties! It's like picking out candy! It's a great place to go for small gifts, stocking stuffers, or even wedding favors. I'll probably make this an annual pre-Chistmas trip. Kringle calls their candles "highly fragrant" but they really are not overpowering. In fact, in my experience the day candles only give off scent until the wax is mostly liquified. You might consider that a drawback. Definitely a cool store to check out. There are a ton of fragrance varieties and they have a few other little knickknacks other than candles. They also have what I call "man candles", which are candles marketed towards men. I think they smell like cologne. My boyfriend actually liked them so I got him two small ones for Christmas. Again, check out the day candle room in the back! Stock up on all kinds of different scents. read more

Very nice and cozy campus as they call it. Always festive and always a wood fire burning by the patio area. Kringle candles are my favorite and would recive a 5 star if the didn't change to the 2 wick jars. The only benefit of this currently is that the old style that I think is better is currently on sale. The candles have a potent scent and fill a good size room or apartment with your favorite scent. Mine personally is Cider Donut! They recently introduced a tea section and you can purchase loose leaf teas and tea accesories. The tea leaves are actually reasonable in price especially if you compare to teavana which is just a rip off anyways. Kringle Candle is with out a doubt the best candle company around. Remember when a certain competitor who shall remain nameless had quality, fragrant candles that burned nicely without a black ring around the top, well that's exactly how Kringle's candles burn. I love the crisp look of the white candle, but the Country Candle collection offers those nice rich colors that we all know and love. We had such a great afternoon here! The candles are great but so are the other experiences. I made a perfume and cologne for myself and my husband! Maria in the lab love was great! She helped us pick the perfect name for our finished result and was more than helpful in the process! Then we went to buy some fudge and met the women who made it she was so helpful in getting us samples and making sure we picked our favorite! Candle heaven! So many unique scents. I get into trouble when I visit places like this because I want every new scent I smell. Kringle Candle was so nice, and huge! They have slightly bigger than votive candles for about $3 which was reasonable. Otherwise, the candles are super expensive. Moreso than Yankee Candles. They have a lot of rooms with various themes. I loved the Christmas room. They also have some unique candle holders. I ended up purchasing a neat metallic candle holder to put up as a wall decoration. Plenty of parking and very friendly staff who are ready to assist you. This is a place that if you love candles you will not be able to resist buying a few so be prepared to make a purchase - there's no just wandering around and checking it out if you love candles, trust me! read more
