Too bad the food ain't that good. The various dishes did not impress Inchin kabin chicken was the best but had bones attached to it,that lost sum appeal because of it Belechan beans was ok but not as tasty as I expected Choon piah was ok also Sambal seafood egg tofu, egg tofu is really nice but the rest was pretty plain Portion sizes all looked small for the prices you pay Won't be back

My favourite has to be the fried koay teow (extra spicy for me) which has good heat and the nice garlicky burnt taste that we are so used to. Has to be one of the better Char Koay Teow dishes I have tastes compared to Perth and Melbourne Malaysian restaurants. Also had the Christmas special: Nyonya fish head curry - at $38 it was a steal. Curry was flavourful (probably similar to a chicken kapitan) with lady's fingers, aubergines and a large fish head full of hidden nooks and crannies of succulent fish meat and stuff. Sambal does a decent cendol too. So for all you Malaysians who whinge about the price - think about (The Malaya at Darling Harvbour) which is probably a tenth as authentic at probably double the price and you have things in a better pespective.

The Pipi Sambal sauce went REALLY well with the fried crispy noodles. It was to die for. It wasn't too hot and spicy, but very fragrant, garlicky and tangy, tomato sauce-like. The wonton that came with the noodles fish was super flavorful as well. I didn't like the pork ribs much because it was a bit sweet. The tofu dessert was extremely smooth and piping hot. It melted in my mouth. The chendol was ok too. Only downside was there was a little bit of wait, and there were only 2 waiters, which made it hard to get their attention sometimes.

When we arrived it was very busy, we got taken to a shared table in which we didn't want. We order 2 noodle dishes 1 vegetable dish, which was a good amount for 3 people. The only thing is that both the noodle dishes were spicy even though the menu said it was not spicy, I recommend asking them what is popular because they can give you lots of suggestions. I liked them on Facebook and they gave us two free macha tea ice creams which were the best I have had. The service was good and the food was reasonably priced. The atmosphere was nice considering that it is located in a centre with lots of other Asian restaurants.

Whether you are after something quick and tasty like roti canai or a laska or if you are after a seafood feast or one of Singapores most famous dished the singapore chilli mud crab, Kreta Ayer has you sorted. We were welcomed and served by the wonderful staff. We were dining in a group and indulged in a variety of Singaporean delights from the menu. We were told that the seafood was sourced fresh and decided to test the waters. We ordered the Singapore Chilli Crab and as per tradition, the live Mud crab was paraded at the table. To start the ginger and shallot scallops were sweet and yummy. To mix it up we also ordered a Singaporean favourite, the roti canai, the stir fry noodles Char Kway Teow and the hawker style cereal prawns all of these taking us back to our recent visit to Singapore. What came next was the piece de resistance, the whole steamed coral trout which was literally melt in your mouth. This was followed by the amazing Singapore Chilli mud crab. The crab beautifully cooked and served in the mouth watering sauce with the mantou buns to soak up the sauce. For dessert we shared the soybean curd a simple dessert, add sugar cane syrup to taste. We also shared we also shared an Ice kachang which is always a favourite, a randomly delicious mix of shaved ice, multicoloured syrup, red bean, corn, condensed milk. We love this place for our Singaporean Hawker style food fix. Thanks to the staff of Kreta Ayer for an amazing meal and hospitality.
