This used to be my go-to Thai restaurant, but recently, their food standards and service has been heading down a negative trend.
The ambience and furniture is modern and great but that's as good as things get unfortunately.
Starting with the service, it seems like the restaurant had been sold to another owner who changed all the staff. They had no idea what they were doing and had to keep referring my questions to their head (I'm guessing boss/manager). When we asked the waitress if a particular dish was any good, she referred that question to her boss before saying 'I don't know!'. Waiters should always know what their dishes taste like!!
Secondly, the waitress wanted ME to open the bottle of red wine I ordered because she was scared the cork would pop open in her face. Yikes.
The food was average. I've had much better thai elsewhere. The Deep Fried Fish with Mango Salad (~$29) was more like deep fried fish fingers. The menu had a picture of the whole fish presented on the plate but I ended up getting bits of fish deep fried. Not impressed unfortunately. Their paw paw salad was large in portion but lacked good flavour. Most disappointing dish would have to be the deep fried ice cream ($10.90). It was definitely deep fried, maybe 2 hours ago? The outside layer was cold and oily. I had basically paid for vanilla ice cream. Not a happy customer as you could understand.
However, if you do end up eating here, you must have the Ox Tongue ($10.50). They grilled that to perfection. Delicious.
I don't like giving bad reviews but this place has become one of the forgettable restaurants I've been to. Sad sad face. read more
