Usually order breakfast here every now and then for the past 4 yrs. Made the mistake of stopping for a sandwich in the afternoon and the service was extremely disrespectful. No one available in the deli section so I asked the guy at the cash register and he rang a bell and someone came from the back of the stock area. He immediately grabbed a box of gloves and put them on and began making a sandwich. I asked him to wash his hands before handling the gloves ( the sink is less than 4 feet from the gloves) He refused and tore off the gloves and threw them in the trash. He then said " You are not getting any sandwich", and walked away. The guy at the register had to demand he wash his hands and make the sandwich and he did so. He ranted and cursed the entire time. Best place hands down to get a sandwich. Coldcuts are always freshly signed to perfection. Thin just the way I like them ! Bread is always soft. Open early! You can get hot subs to like grilled chicken sandwiches and burgers. Just make sure to get there eariler..hot gril only open from 5 am to 3 PM! Let me not forget their breakfast sandwiches as well! This review strictly for the liquor store... I was down the street and needed a quick gift. I stopped at the first place I saw and ended up here. They had all the middle shelf booze and decent amount top shelf. Pricier items were located behind the counter. Guess that speaks for the area/demographic? Not a bad wine selection for a convenience store, but I guess they pass the price of convenience on to the customer! They had nice bottle bags so my gift did not seemed unwrapped. All in all, I paid just under double what I would have at any decent wine & spirits but gain, I paid for the convenience. Today i stopped in to get a bagel with butter toasted. i got it no problem. On their menu, it lists this as 1.89...so far so good. i get to the counter to pay for it, he tells me that it is 2.39 for the bagel...how? Apparently they charge you .50 for toasting it. only place i have ever had to pay an additional amount for toasting. First and last time ill come to this deli. hence the 1 star. read more

Review specifically for store in Watchung NJ. I geared up- mask, glasses and two wipes to go in. One guy, assuming the owner, walking around store - no mask. Wife (I assume) also walking around , behind counter with all the deli stuff, AND two young kids running around the store - and in a shocker, no masks. I have been going here for over ten years now... Never had a problem... Decent sandwiches... Decent service... Overall, no issues and always been across the board a "good deli" Until tonight, that was.... :( I handed the cashier a $20 bill while asking for a pack of cigarettes... I turned my head (for all of five to six seconds) to talk to my friend who was next to me... Upon turning my head back- there was a single dollar bill on the counter, with the cashier staring at me... "You owe more (in broken english) money." Said the cashier... Confused, I responded, "...oh im sorry, I thought I gave you a twenty dollar bill." Note: Before going into the store I separated from a wad of bills, a twenty dollar bill, so that I was not pulling out a wad of cash at the register. I am sure of this because I always take caution to not flash a wad of bills in public, if I don't have to-for security purposes, preventing myself from becoming a target to rob. My mistake was taking my eye off the cash for 5-6 seconds (maybe even less time) Feeling as if I was being robbed by the cashier, I maintained eye contact with him, as I said, "...gosh, I really thought I handed you a twenty, sir..." From that point on- to leaving the store- he would not make eye contact with me again-exactly what somebody who is guilty would do-avoid eye contact! However, when I was outside the front entrance, getting into the parked car... at that moment, he looked up from the register towards my vehicle- as if to see if I was leaving with out incident. I was staring at him from inside the car-with the interior lights on when we both made eye contact with one another. He looked at me and saw me looking at him-staring at him with my cold eyes. For about 3 long seconds we stared at each other, until he turned away. Keeping my eyes glued on him through the glass doors on the entrance (now with my interior lights off) He looked out at me again, not realizing I was staring at him from the dark interior of my vehicle. He was DEF. looking to see if I was now leaving without incident and to ensure he got away with the SWITCH-A-ROO. Never has this happened before...not here and not anywhere. Since Im across the country for work, I figured I'd be able to score some weird drinks that I wouldn't be able to back home. Looking for that "dirty liquor store" that I usually go for, this place turned out to be almost clinically clean. In fact it's a popular deli with the local workers in the area. On the way to a local data center for a job the GPS led me here. Made to order subs with Boars Head meat and cheese on decent bread for like 5 bucks! and they were good too! Large selection of beers and perhaps other booze was not looking for that, non adult drinks too and all the junk food you could want. I want to give this place more stars but I can't, it's just not deserved. For one, my food order is always messed up, it's pretty simple, it's always the same thing every morning. Taylor ham, egg, cheese, on whole wheat with salt, pepper, ketchup. But I never get that =( Plus they've been having to dust the place for well over a year now. Also the liquor is way over priced. Always a friendly and pleasant experience. I just recently discovered how good their sandwiches are! Always fresh bread, cut to order meats, deli salads are also fresh and well prepared. Prices are comparable to any other deli in the are even a little cheaper actually! Liquor and beer selection is decent, the seem to keep up with whatever comes out. Good size food and necessity inventory too. Definitely recommend to stop in for any deli needs read more

Love this place for a quick, well priced sandwich. I have been here a couple times for lunch and I'm never short of happy! Sandwiches made to order, always correct, prices are good for a deli sandwich and the staff is always super friendly when I go. I've read some of the other reviews and it seems like some people are just never happy...however, if they had bad customer service previously, they no longer have it! Today I witness prejudice in this store. The sandwich man took a long time to take an order from a black woman, I don't think he wanted to take her order. She later came back because the sandwich was not what she ordered. Instead of fixing the sandwich, they immediately verbally attacked her saying that it was her fault, "you gave the wrong order". Zero stars. Be careful how they ring up your order. They tried charging me an extra 30 cents for my sandwich when it shouldn't have been . It was a specialty sandwich priced at 4.99, tried charging me 30 cents for cheese but it already comes with it. When I called them out on it they tried saying it was a charge for other things. No doubt a local convenient store. They have a deli. The staff are friendly. You can make ur own coffee or tea. Every morning there's a load of bagels with cream cheese, butter rolls etc, already prepared. On the plus side for all you alcoholics they sell beer, wine and liquor. read more

Went there today. We just moved our large company from NY to this area. Coffee was dead and they made a new pot. The manager asked why I threw the coffee away and I said it was dead over cooked coffee. I showed him and he said it was not dead and the next time he was going to charge me double, I waited for the next pot and it was good. When I checked out they charged me 2 dollars more, I paid it because if the indians need it then as a american born help me help them. What is so ironic is that we are a new company that move in very close to them with over 150 employees and I will not bring them or advocate this as a place to go to. read more
