We have ordered the same items on different visits and somehow ended up paying different prices. The food is already expensive, and unfortunately, the quality and consistency do not justify the cost. What bothered us even more was the MIDGET EGGHEAD owner's behavior. He initially comes across as friendly, but on several occasions he has made disrespectful comments with double meanings, some of them sexual in nature. It became uncomfortable and completely unprofessional. After multiple chances, we've finally decided: never again. If you choose to visit, pay close attention to what you're being charged and how you're being treated. Our experience has taught us that the friendly personality we initially encountered was not what it seemed. And since he thought it was appropriate to make a comment to my wife about "Italian chorizo," he can now take that Italian chorizo and stick it up his.... We won't be back. Good luck to the Patrons that shop at this horrible business.

This is a classic deli, walls full of tomatoes, pasta, family photos, and citizen of the year awards. (It only takes one interaction to understand why.) you can sit outside in nice weather, but the chit chat inside makes you feel especially welcome. My only regret is we forgot to get cannolis on the way out. (Probably because the portions are huge.) Not far off the highway so you can keep dad feeling like we're still making good time. We'll be back on our next Northeast haul.

I ordered the buffalo wings, garlic knots, a small cheese pizza with vodka sauce instead of marinara & mushrooms, and a cannoli. The wings were not Buffalo, they were a mix between Buffalo and bbq. If I had known, would not have ordered. Did not like the bbq sauce flavor. I also asked for ranch as I despise bleu cheese but alas, I did not get ranch and had to eat my wings plain. Garlic knots were perfect. The pizza tho. Ugh, it was so bad. They made a cheese mushroom pizza with way too much cheese and then put the vodka sauce on top after!!! Like a drunken grandma pie. That's not what I wanted. I asked for, "a cheese pizza with vodka sauce." It was so soggy that it soaked through the bottom of the box. Stayed soggy even after reheating in the oven. I ate half a slice and tossed the rest sadly. I won't be ordering from here again. The cannoli was fine but wouldn't order again either. The only thing I would eat again is the garlic knots. Very disappointing for Jersey pizza.

My very first visit here: 400 days of Duolingo under my 'cintura' and never made it over to Italy…read more My most recent visit here: 600+ days of Duolingo and a successful vacation to Italia officially in the books. What hasn't changed? Me still being terrified to attempt a simple "Salve!" or "Buongiorno!" when I'm interacting with any of the workers while I'm filling my cart with all the imported goodies they have on the shelves. (This might be the only store in North Jersey where the entire staff's first language is Italian - which is mighty daunting, I gotta be honest.) The deli in the back is particularly impressive where a slew of 'lavoratori' are keeping up with all the customers' orders from the countless trays of prepared foods on display. (And they're generous with the free samples on the top of the display case for the various cheeses and other goodies they've recently made.) And if you can't find it at the deli counter - peruse the aisles and you'll surely find what you're after. Personal favorite tidbit: the gals in back pulling out a brown bag and jotting down the prices on the side of the bag with a pencil. (This brings me back to the old days of being a kid Down Neck and there was just one butcher everyone's parents went to religiously and that's how he 'rang you up' at the register.) Lots of Napoli flags and banners (but I won't dock them a star since I'm a Roma supporter!). The entire staff - always cool. The pricing - a bit higher than some other delis in the surrounding towns. A better (but smaller) Uncle Giuseppe's... so an Italian Trader Joe's. And just like Trader Joe's - the parking lot here is entirely too snug!

The place is a grocery store that has a deli serving hot lunch and sandwiches. I have gotten the #2 (grilled chicken with smoked mozzarella, roasted peppers) and it was really good and fresh. My second visit I got the #1 since it came with fresh mozzarella with grilled chicken and sun dried tomatoes. This sandwich was solid as well and I believe they put olive oil with it. The bread was fresh and tasty especially since the olive oil soaked well into it. It's a good amount of food, I usually split it in half and have it for lunch and then dinner. I highly recommend Piccolo's if you're in the mood for fresh mozzarella sandwich. * Parking on premise * helpful service * variety of samples to try

You greet each other, he asks what you're in the mood for today, and if you're a regular he already knows. He's basically the Netflix algorithm, except he's always right. Now, the sandwich. I let him freelance and he built me a custom Italian with prosciutto and peppers. I took one bite before I even made it out the door and it was simply dripping flavor. Not dripping as in messy, dripping as in the bread, the meat, and the peppers all decided to show up for the same party and nobody held back. I stood on the sidewalk and reconsidered every other sandwich I have ever paid for. Every Tuesday they do a Cuban Italian, which sounds like a diplomatic incident but is actually the best thing that has ever happened to pork. Plan your week around it. I have. Ambiance is exactly what you'd hope for. Think the sandwich spots Joey loves in Friends. Or Cheers, if Cheers sold prosciutto. Feels like you're in the city, in the best way. Small tidbit: as customers left, everybody behind the counter said thank you and sent them off like old friends. You just don't get that at a chain.
