I had to sit with this review for awhile before writing an in-depth review. I'm originally from Philly, and not the suburbs, but I spend half my time in North Jersey before I fully move to the area. I'm still getting to know the surrounding areas and roads, so being introduced to Bagel Buffet has been really enjoyable. This is the first place my man brought me to back in January when we first started seeing each other. I won't lie, I was overwhelmed with the choices. But everything looked amazing & inviting, and you could tell business was great because of all the hustle and bustle. So let's just get into it shall we? PARKING The establishment shares a parking lot with other establishments. These are the pull in frontwards at an angle spaces. They are not my favorite, but according to Google, angled parking fits more cars in a tight space. The flow of traffic is all one way. Parking is really hard to find during very busy times, like morning rush hour for example. As someone who is petite, drives a tiny car, and is used to reversing into any and all spots to leave easily and faster, these spaces and parking lot are not my favorite. Reversing out is not easier and is kind of difficult, especially if a big truck parks next to my tiny car blocking my view. It's great that the last few times my man and I came here was during less busier times where there was ample parking. But I'm still not a good judge at pulling my car in frontwards. Let me parallel park for you with no lines bumper to bumper, or reverse a car into any spot for you, but frontwards... that's always going to be a conundrum to me. ATMOSPHERE & MENU OPTIONS I do enjoy the warmth of this establishment. Everyone was really welcoming, and I had such lovely conversations with a few of the workers, especially Richard. I had the pleasure of meeting Richard last time we dined here, and he was just awesome. One of the most amazing conversations I've ever had. I felt very welcomed. I did feel very awkward and apologetic about taking so many photos, but I meant no ill will. I do love scrapbooking and journaling in my spare time, so I love documenting, but I also do enjoy writing reviews as well and have a whole website around them called "dreamlikediana" for various interests. Interior design wise, I do enjoy the browns, reds, and warm lighting, but I do feel like all the menu boards blend in with each other. I don't know where to look in terms of them and it truly feels a tad bit overwhelming. I took the photos originally, not for a review per se, but because I really wanted to study what were my menu options. I'm a foodie. I am always down to always try something new. I feel like the menu boards don't serve me well, and when I come in next time I'm going to ask for a printed menu. Maybe that will help my choice overload and can plan other options to try in the future. Because even now, I definitely feel overwhelmed looking at all the boards. I don't know where to look, and maybe that's just me? I, of course, even multiple times coming in here, I let my eyes shop. My eyes grab onto something and I don't let go. I'm glad the deli cases do exist! Like I said, there's just so many amazing options and everything I've had thus far from smoothies, to parfaits, to the paninis, everything has been so flavorful and so delicious! The deli cases are a little frosted though at times which can be hard to see the options within them. I'm still thinking about the Tuscan Panini I had here last time. I need another one ASAP. My man has been coming here for years and it's such a healthy option, very clean eating, when we are on the go. SEATING There is ample seating which is nice, but all the mirrors throw me off. But it's also great because you don't have to go to the bathroom to see if you got anything on your face after eating. I love the fact that there is seating. I don't always want to eat in my car, despite being used to it, so it was really nice to sit down for a change and really enjoy my meal. OVERALL I'm definitely going to be a returning customer, and I really hope to try more on the menu as time goes on. Especially the more I get acquainted with the place. Loved the bagel here! Very fresh and tasted really good. The bacon egg and cheese was delicious and cooked well. Price is also good and the employees were nice. They do get very busy especially during breakfast time so you'll wait a little while but it's worth it. I'll definitely be back. read more

Don't know what happened to these once "head of the pack" bagels. They had a uniqueness that made NY Jewish bagel experts sit up and take notice even above the undisputed NYC champion H&H. 40 years in Secaucus, my family saw them come and now unfortunately watched them go. What were once large, crispy exterior bagels , with a slightly sweet wonderful soft with the perfect chew interior, have now turned into industrial product that you'd expect from a stainless steel coffee truck or a mass production operation. Small, undercooked with , God help us, a new addition, never needed before, coarse grain cornmeal on the underside in such abundance that it not only detracted from the mouthfeel experience, but it could almost be seen as "cornmeal " flavor, in other words as much cornmeal on the bottom as sesame seeds or poppy or everything on top. These were once THE ABSOLUTE BEST, but now they are average and blend in with the mediocre products that chain shops produce. I ordered bagel sandwiches from here with cheddar cheese, jalapeños, hash browns, egg, and avocado. They really hit the spot. The bagel was fluffy and doughy. I appreciated that they were able to accommodate all of the add-ins. The jalapeños were fresh, not pickled, and had an incredible spicy kick. The hash browns were also nice and buttery and probably would've been great on their own. I also ordered buttered croissants. However, they gave me croissants filled with onions instead. I travelled from Texas for Legion con and I saw this place pop up near me. I'm not a bagel person per say, but wanted to eat a salad. After browsing the online menu I went for it. I ordered the Greek salad, which came with 2 grape leave rolls. The salad was fresh. You can also build your own salad or bagel anyway you want to. This place used to be run great. It's gone downhill over time. Some people swear by it, and I simply cannot understand why. Outrageously priced for what you actually get. Probably one of the thinnest breakfast sandwiches around. Minimal meat (as in only one or two slices of Taylor ham), single egg, but priced like you're getting much more. Same goes for the other sandwiches. Expensive, but small. Parking is a nightmare. Head over to Natoli's in town instead. Great variety of spreads and other bagel "fillers". They'll complete your order to the T. Wide variety of cold beverages and tea/coffee. Service is great, friendly and most importantly-efficient. I order from bagel buffet pretty often as it's close to my office and they deliver. I've never had problems with them before, but I am confused with what they delivered me. I ordered the ham and Brie sandwich with the "deluxe" order of fries and pickle chips. I was really excited to get my food, but when I opened up my food, it was cold and pathetic. The pickle chips was literally one pickle slice (as pictured), the fries are floppy and cold, and my sandwich is also ice cold. I called to ask what happened and they said "yeah it's a pickle chip" and I was like "no your menu says pickle chips" he was like "no it's just one chip". My deluxe menu also had romaine in it which I specifically said NO ROMAINE because there's an e.coli outbreak right now. They didn't do anything to compensate me and they offered me a half-hearted apology. He said "yeah it happens, we try to get everything out hot". I would've rather saved my $3 than order this "deluxe" menu item again. Also, my coworker got the Thai Crunch salad, and she just found apples in her salad. A) she is very allergic to apples and B) the salad doesn't even COME with apples. Luckily she can pick them out, and if she eats something that touched an apple she won't die, but get your act together Bagel Buffet, the only salad you even offer with apples is the Waldorf Chicken salad. Terrible service! Stopped for a quick breakfast while running errands. After waiting for my bagel sandwiches (I get it, it was a busy Sunday morning), the cashier made me feel as I was being rude for ordering a smoothie, saying she would ring me up as it was being made to "hurry things along". Then I take the sandwiches to the car and realize that the cinnamon raisin sandwich was on an everything bagel. I take it back to the store and the woman behind the counter curtly asked me what was wrong. I explained the situation and they took it to the back without a word. As a Secaucus resident within walking distance to this place, I find myself here often because of convenience. The breakfast sandwiches consist of the bare minimum amount of meat and the bagels are small. Prices are some of the highest I've seen for what you get.
