Service was slow; it took a long time for our order to be ready, likely because they only had one cook working with a sous chef and a cashier on a busy Sunday morning. We have been going to J and J Bagel for years and never have had an issue till recently. Most recently I ordered and Taylor ham and cheese on a roll. When the sandwich came I couldn't believe my eyes. There was one slice of Taylor ham and two pieces of cheese. Today I wanted to try something different. I ordered a hot roast beef with melted mozzarella and thousand island dressing on a roll. What I got was dry roast beef, tomatoes and mayonnaise on a roll heated. Not sure what has been happening but we have been very disappointed in the quality of the food. We are willing to give it another try in hopes it it like the old J and J. read more

Very disappointed. I recently moved to the area and decided to order from this place. I placed an order through DoorDash. Bagel with Scallion cream cheese, bacon egg and cheese on a roll and 2 coffees- 1 caramel ice coffee and 1 small coffee milk and sugar The bagel was burnt and it was hard small amount of cream cheese- I had to throw it away because biting into it was tough. J&J Bagel is located on a fairly busy street in Ridgefield and shares a tiny parking lot with a local small gym - on the plus side I've never run into an issue where I couldn't find parking. The team at J&J knows how to handle customers with care but also speed which I greatly appreciate. The bagels here are thick unlike other shops in the area which make almost mini bagels compared to J&J. The flavors of their bagels are also on point - personally I love anything coated in Garlic or Onions and their flavors really stand out. read more

J & J is dependable. Their bagels are bigger than most but fluffy and have great mouth feel. I used to complain privately that the ratio between filling and bagel was not even. There needed to be more filling whether it be egg or bacon. It has gotten much better and much more enjoyable. Bacon is almost always crispy and cooked well! That matters a lot to me! Just wanted a bagel nearby, looked at the rating and decided to give it a try, I don't understand the high reviews. The lady at the cashier was rude. I was at the wrong line to order and she sent me to the order line. The lady taking the order was nice. I self served myself a coffee. One of the machine was out of coffee and the other was covered. I wasn't sure if the other was working but decided to give it a try and it worked. I went back to pay and the cashier asked the other what my order was, she says 4.50 and swiped my card. She proceeds to talk to another customer sitting with me still in in front she keeps on turning her back while talking to the other customer and one of those times she throws an order on the counter. After a few seconds of just standing there and there is a gap in the conversation she was having with the other customer. I asked if the order she just threw on the counter is mine. Being a NYer we take our bagels seriously, however J&J Bagel is quickly becoming one of my favorite bagel places. They make the plumpest (yes I said plump :p) bagels stuffed with a wide range of things any bagel lover would want. Their service is quick and their prices are reasonable. I would take off one star cause there has been a few times when I've called in an order and they forgot to toast a bagel here and there. This is usually only when I call in and maybe they are busy. J & J impressed me with their variety of choices on not just bagels but also the additional items for breakfast/lunch they offer. I ordered a Ham, Egg, and Cheese on a Whole Wheat Everything bagel. This was a really good breakfast sandwich. The bagel was not stale and you can tell was freshly baked. We're regulars at Bergen Blvd Bagels down the street, but decided to try J & J Bagels because they're 5 mins closer. When I got there just before noon, there were only a handful of bagel selections left. I ordered a hot bagel sandwich and waited. There was no one else in line. When it was ready, I asked for a couple of bagels to go for later and asked that they be bagged separately from the hot sandwich. The woman sighed at that request. Then I asked her if they sold cream cheese to go and she said... "you know, you should have ordered everything together." UHM, WHAT??? I actually APOLOGIZED for not ordering everything together.
