This is one of my favorite hole in the wall Chinese restaurants! I would suggest calling ahead for pick up as even when not busy the wait can be up to 15+ minutes. I usually always get the orange chicken, pan fried noodles, and pork fried rice. First time at Kowloon's and we will definitely be back when we need our Chinese food fix! I've been driving by for years and someone at work reminded me to try it so here we are! We ordered a lot so we could try a range. We ordered the steam pork buns, Chinese chow mein, veggie fried rice, sweet & sour pork and the garlic chicken. We ordered online and it was ready lightning fast. It was so much food I was honestly surprised. It was all really good. The garlic chicken was perfectly cooked, the veggies weren't over done and the garlic flavor was just right. The fried rice was perfect and so was the sweet and sour pork, my favorites since childhood. The pork buns were larger than I expected and were soft and delicious. After my last review, the manager listened to me I'm sure others, and Kowloon is back to 5 stars. The food is just as good as it was for the past 40+ years. I think it just took the new manager and his newer crew and chefs to learn from the older remaining chefs and workers that are still there. Plus listening to me and other long time Kowloon fans must have sunk in. He is very nice, listens, answers questions, so all ids good there. The online ordering is great, the service is great, the food is great, the prices are great. I ordered Mongolian Beef plates from three Chinese restaurants in the last 6 months. All were good, but Kowloon's was far superior. The taste, the variation of veggies, the quantity, and if you like pan-fried noodles, nobody does them as good as Kowloon. The red sweet and sour is the best anywhere. That sauce on the pan-fried noodles is just the best. I have had Chinese food up and down the state of California and yes there is great stuff out there, but nobody matches the "bang for the buck". The only reason I ate at other Chinese restaurants in town was because Kowloon was closed for "Newsome". If you haven't been to Kowloon Kitchen and you have a big family like mine, go with the mandarin dinners. They give you a great variety of dishes, and if you do not like something you can substitute. My wife and kids do not like egg foo young, so we sub that for more pan-fried noodles. Other than that, the mandarin dinner is our go to meal. read more

This place is ridiculous, in a really good way tho. I wanted something quick and close to where I was staying so stopped in under Yelp's advisement. Small hole in the wall place run by actual Chinese who know a thing or 2 about what they're doing with those giant woks. Made the mistake of ordering entirely too much food, to the point where the box on the bottom was starting to cave in from the weight of the one on top. Luckily, it didn't give much as it too was packed full. I ordered the beef & broccoli with white rice, then the black mushroom chicken which I asked for without rice or noodles, so what do they do? Pack it full of chicken and veggies instead. Food was cooked right in front of me and done in a flash. Best of all it tasted pretty awesome. For quick Chinese takeout, this place is great!!! The portions are huge, the food is good quality, and fresh! The chicken chop suey was fresh, filled with really good vegetables and cooked well. We ordered it over the noodles and the flavor of the sauce fell into the noodles and was very good. My husband got the kung pow beef over fried rice and it was also very good! We ordered potstickers and an order of orange chicken for the kids as well and it was all fresh and good quality. There was so much food, we will have leftovers for days. Just ordered 3 plates with pork chow mein, fried rice and fried shrimp. All 3 of us agreed that this food was terrible!!! The chow mein had nothing but bean sprouts and noodles. It had 2 slices of pork and 1 slice of celery. It was also a disgusting white color, and no seasoning. The fried rice was just very dark brown colored rice. No peas, no green onion, no egg, no meat, no flavor. The shrimp were mostly fried tempura that was very greasy, and a small little shrimp inside this lump of tempura. My chow mein was about 1/3 sprouts amd nowhere near cooked. Very bland and mooshy. Tempura shrimp came with no sauce. Sweet & sour chicken had minimal sweet and sour drizzled over the chicken, no extra sauce in the bag. No utensils or napkins included. What kind of Chinese restaurant does not INCLUDE fortune cookies, but instead sells them for $1/bag? In my opinion this restaurant is ALL about the money, skimping on key ingredients and eliminating essentials. First of all, very friendly service. Affordable lunch options. I paid $7 and change for a BBQ lunch special and a small drink. My gripe is the fried rice and slices of pork. The pork is dry. The fried rice has no visible egg and about a pea or two. Is this a common thing in Clovis/Fresno? The lunch special did come with a side of chow yuk which is like a stew with chunks of chicken and veggies. That was actually very satisfying. Not sure if I would come again. The Chinese food here is delicious, not the best Chinese food around Fresno definitely, but if your looking for a cheap, huge portions and decently flavored fast American Chinese food, this is the place to go in Clovis. I tried the broccoli beef at $6.70 without tax, it was large in portion, pretty packed up in the Styrofoam clamp box. The taste is on the salty side but its not unbearable, the meat a little chewy but huge, the vegetables were perfectly cooked and the whole meal is placed on your choice of friend rice, noodles or steam rice. The great thing about this place is the price, because meals are relatively cheap starting at $6.50, the portions are very generous, much larger in comparison to large chains like Panda Express. But the meat used here is cheap and probably low quality, and anyone who cooks can tell, they may seem large and fluffy but that is because the meat is marinated with baking soda and corn flour which helps to expand the beef and make it look huge, but the con of this is the chewy texture of the meat. Expect a very authentic way of ordering like how it is in Asia, with the woman taking your order asking "What you want" instead of asking "how can I help" or "May I take your order", but this could be a unique experience to most Americans. The cleanliness of the establishment is questionable, as everything looks a little rundown and does not look very clean, but please don't get me wrong, the food here is clean, or at least I have not found any health issue like hair or anything, but the kitchen again is how asian kitchen in cheap asian restaurant are in asia, where floors maybe wet with soap, they walk in boots, and they clean the wok right where they cook it. read more
