The best meal we had in Kauai! When we stopped by at 10 am on Saturday, the wait was 20-25 minutes. Not bad at all (and definitely worth it for the food)! We split the macadamia nut French toast and added coconut on top. This was the BEST rendition of French toast I have ever tried. The bread was fluffy with a touch of sweetness, not saccharin sweet like most other french toasts. The macadamia nuts and coconut flakes were plentiful and well dispersed throughout. The coconut syrup was the cherry on top! I had the loco moco as my entree. Gravy lovers, this dish is for you! SUCH satisfying, dark gravy over over easy eggs, beef and a mound of rice. This hit the spot in so many ways. The hubby ordered a Polynesian omelette and I loooved the sourness from the stir fry kimchi and the saltiness of the Portuguese sausage. Really great breakfast spot in Kapaa. Cozy dining room which is always busy. Service is pretty quick and everyone is always friendly and welcoming. I did notice the bussers can be a bit too efficient. They cleared a table while the diners were in the restroom and when they came back the rest of their food was gone. Oops. Not sure what the outcome was, but we enjoyed our meal and went back again on another day. I love the Denver Omelette and their hash brown are nice and crispy. Stopped here for breakfast and our final meal before the airport. It was a great stop! We only waited about 10 minutes for a table of 6 and the service was great, even with us being stuck in a private room. Food came out quickly and the food was even better! I shared the ube french toast and the avocado bacon Benedict. The toast was so fluffy, ube the great sweet and savory flavor and vibrant color and topped with the amazing coconut syrup. Breakfast or brunch in Kapaa town has to lead you to Kountry Style Kitchen. It is located on Kuhio Highway just across from the library in Downtown Kapaa. We made reservations for our group of 20 people and they were able to accommodate us which was great as they are one of the busiest restaurants I had seen every time we drove through town in the morning. We were there the day after the 4th of July so we all needed a nice hearty meal to start the day... and we were also celebrating a birthday in the group and Kountry Style Kitchen was nice enough to store the cake we had bought in their fridge. We really appreciated that. Our party of 20 was split up into 2 big booths that sat back to back with each other so it was nice that we dined close together. Our waitress was awesome and she took our drink orders not too long after we were seated. I went with the corned beef hash & eggs ($13.95) that comes with their homemade corned beef hash patties, 2 eggs any style, hash browns or rice and corn bread or toast. I went with rice and buttered white toast. We also shared a half order of the macadamia nut french toast ($7.10) which itself had 3 good sized slices of Hawaiian sweet bread french toast topped with fresh toasted macadamia nuts. When I first saw that the corned beef hash was in patties, I was a little disappointed and thought that it would be mushy and flavorless. I was totally wrong. It mightve been the best corned beef hash I have had. The patties were mostly made of shredded beef mixed in with the potatoes. They were perfect and so tasty. Im glad I picked that because it was really tasty corned beef hash with plenty of shredded corned beef. The eggs were over medium and were great with the toast. The rice I ate with the corned beef, Hawaiian style. The macadamia nut french toast was SO GOOD. Their use of Hawaiian sweet bread was so perfect. There was sweetness to the bread that you cant just get otherwise. The toasted macadamia nuts were a nice touch. But of course, that macadamia syrup to top off the french toast is truly a Hawaiian treasure of flavors. Cant get enough of this syrup... So very good. It was perfect on the french toast. Parking is in a small lot out back, a few spaces in front or along Kuhio Highway wherever you can find it. Love this place! Not so great from the outside but don't let that stop you. They are always busy. If there is a wait, sign up on the e tablet by the door. They are all so sweet, wait staff is faster than most on Kauai. Just be patient. There are locals and tourists. Wonderful food. My husband loved the loco moco with has and fried rice. Parking/Waiting: Parking was very difficult during the busy time. There is a dirt parking lot across the road, but do NOT park in the Library parking lot. I ended up just finding some street parking a block away. If there is a line to get seated, there is a tablet by the entrance where you can check in and place yourself in line with the Yelp app. Being seated took about 30ish minutes, but there are some nice little shops around to kill time. Ambiance: It is a hawaiian take on the American style diner and has a more modern feel to it. It isn't exactly loud, but I did need to speak up when talking to my wife across the table. Food: We came for breakfast and had a few things our eye on. I am a Loco Moco fiend and had to order one. There were several options to upgrade it like fried rice instead of white rice, or pulled pork or corn beef has instead of the burger patty. If I get the chance to go back, I would want to try those. I also wanted to try the Salty Monkey Waffle, but was sharing with my wife so whipped cream was a no go. However, after tasting it, I think the whipped cream would have made it too sweet. It was a great combination and the waffle was fresh and soft. Lastly, I ordered a pineapple ice tea, which was good, but not sweet enough in my opinion. But I think it would be a good balance for any of the waffle selections. Service: Our server was very nice and sweet, almost like your favorite auntie type of vibe. It was very welcoming and wrapped the whole experience in a nice cute bow. Overall: Highly recommended for tourists, and don't be to afraid the take things home. The inside was quite full which was good to see. There are several signs throughout the restaurant letting customers know they could get a 2% discount if they paid with cash. I mean...there were a lot of signs letting customers know this so you couldn't say you didn't know if you were dining in, LOL!!
