This saddens me. I've been referring and using these guys for years. I've spent well over a thousand dollars on both my bikes at this shop. I had a new tire put on a brand new 60 spoke wheel on my Springer Softail. I literally watched them with a pry bar with rim protectors on it taking the tire off. I was IN the shop. What I didn't do was inspect the rim after it was all done(with other work). About a week later I saw six spots around the lip of the rim where the chrome was gone when I went to wash the bike. Upon closer inspection I could see dents from metal on metal and almost machine marks. It wasn't rocket science to figure out what happened. So I called the Harley dealership and a few other shops before I went back up there to ask if this is just how things go sometimes with a tire change or what would THEY do. I knew it wasn't normal but I just wanted opinions. Everybody said they owe me a wheel. Plain and simple. So I went up there thinking this was gonna maybe be a little bit of head scratching on their part, some attempts at dodging. Which would be worthless since either the manufacturer put six pry marks on the lip I failed to notice with steel hanging out and the chrome dinged when I took it out of the box and had it put on the bike. So I was really thinking JT the owner would do right by it. They are the only people that have worked on the wheel! It's a no brainer. What happened next shocked me. Especially after the money I've spent there and the referrals I've given and the relationship I thought I had with this family owned business(which is one reason I've been taking my business there instead of corporate Harley dealerships). JT came out and denied it. I said "JT, this wheel has never been touched by anybody but you guys. You just put a new tire on this bike. How did that happen?". He said he didn't know, it's my bike and I should keep a closer eye on it. Then he says "Well, I don't have a lot of common sense so let me get some guys that do" and goes into the shop and gets the whole shop to come out and sarcastically tell me they didn't do it. I'm in shock at this point. They are saying the dents in the lip couldn't have been done by prying out and all sorts of jibberish. Then JT points a tiny spot of rust on a spoke and it hits me. They think I damaged my own wheel to get them to buy a new one. Wow!!!!! This review saddens me because as much money as I've spent there I can't believe or stomach how much someone calling me a liar and basically a scam artist got to me. So I'm going to plot and scheme denting my own wheel after a tire change to get them to buy me a new wheel? Really??? There is(or WAS) nothing wrong with the wheel. I don't want a new one(or didn't....now I do because the chrome is gonna bubble where they chipped it off). I think not admitting it got to me good, implying I'm a lying thief basically got to me REAL good. So JT I hate it to lose business over a 195 dollar wheel. The 200 bucks doesn't matter that much to me. They will make more money and so will I. Calling customers liars and insulting them with sarcasm and insinuating things is not good. I make a lot of money in the movie business here in Atlanta. I've got better things to do than try to scam Kotic Kustoms out of a 195 dollar wheel. The word will be passed to the local clubhouses and biker watering holes. And it's not over the wheel. You don't treat folks like scam artists when you damage their bikes. But I guess when you have bikes on the cover of magazines and a showroom full of trophies you can treat the common guy on a $8000 Springer any old way. Enjoy your Yelp review from a formerly fiercely loyal customer, hope the wheel and trying to clown me with the shop guys was worth it. And if you've got 30 to 90 grand for a show bike your results may very. Take ALOT of closeup pics of your bike before having work done otherwise. read more
