The biggest gyros I've seen in a very long time!!
    Michelle F.

We were greeted nicely and the guy helped us and answered our questions. The place was very clean and everything well stocked. We each ordered the Greek gyros plate which has double meat. They use fresh ground lamb with their own spice mix to create their own unique flavor profile. Meat is soft, tender and delicious. The onions and tomatoes are nicely sliced on the plate. The tzatziki sauce is creamy and clings nicely to the meat. Order an extra pita and sauce if you order this huge plate. You'll need it (in a good way)! French fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. We could only eat a few as there was so much meat on our plates! Super generous portions are given here! 1 gyro plate is enough for 2 people easily! I never had a chance to get to the fries. I only got through 1/2 of my plate and there was no room for desert! Great job Kosta's! They told me they have a Kosta's location in Palatine too which is a much closer location.

    Chicken Kabobs

Always been a big fan of Kosta's Gyros, so that's why we decided to do Kosta's catering for my daughter's first birthday. Selecting the right food for this event had to be excellent because you only get a first birthday once in your life time so it had to be good! My wife an I sat down and decided we wanted to the chicken kabobs, gyros, oven baked greek potatoes, and mediterranean rice. So a week before the party we placed the order with Kosta's cause as you know with a big catering order you need to give the kitchen ample time to order the ingredients, prep it, and then cook it for the party. We went with 7 pounds of chicken kabobs for a total of 56 skewers and 4 pounds of gyro meat, large tray of potatoes, and large tray of rice. The ordering and pick up went without a hiccup. Except they did let us know that if we paid by credit card that there would be a 3.5% credit card fee. Hold up fam, I'll be right down to the restaurant to pay in that green, dinero, bread, coin, bacon, and dough. You ain't gonna get me for an extra 3.5%. The food was done right at the schedule pick up time and now it was time to party! Now, I'd like to add a tale of caution here. Now you may have noticed that so far I've had nothing but good things to say about Kosta's, so then why am I have giving them a 4 star review? Attached to my review, I provided a picture of the chicken kabobs. No where else on Yelp or on Google for that matter has there been a picture of the chicken kabobs and the only person to blame here is me, myself, and I. What I should have done before the party is gone to Kosta's and sampled the chicken kabobs myself. The reason being is that the amount of chicken that comes on each skewer. I was not the only one at the party that made the comment of why there was so little chicken on each skewer, there were several people who commented. The width of chicken on each skewer comes close to a centimeter thick, not an inch thick, but a centimeter. I had no idea that each kabob didn't come with a hunk of meat and that was MY FAULT. So I'm giving everyone else full warning now that's the way Kosta's does their chicken kabobs is like this. Beyond this everything to the rice, potatoes, and gyro was A+ all around by the restaurant and their staff. Overall, everyone was happy and full at the party, even the birthday girl approved of the food and the day after we received many comments as to how good the food was and "what was that restaurant you ordered the food from?" Maybe it would be a good idea for Kostas to include a few business cards so that I could pass them out? But who am I to tell a business owner of what or what not to do? Being in this area we are lucky to have Kostas Gyros in the neighborhood and I hope to have them succeed for many more years to come. Keep up the great work Kostas!

Just your typical greasy spoon. Good for when you get a gyros craving. Always predictably average

Love the food, hate the front end service. Whom ever the older person is, she needs to take a chill pill. Owner take note.

So one of my most recent favorite things has been this place! I have been trying some different…read morehealthy meal options such as cooking for myself at home (yeah I suck at cooking) factor, home chef, etc but it all just got too expensive or took too much time. I had always seen this little place on my way home from the gym and I decided to stop in and I tried a few of their freezer take home meals. I was skeptical, but as I tried the first meal I couldn't believe how great it tasted, it tasted like a cheat meal if I'm being honest!!! (it was the BBQ Beef Mac and Cheese) and since I'm counting calories right now, how low of calories were in it After enjoying that and a few other frozen meals I decided to order some of the fresh meals from their meal plan that you pick up either on Sunday or Monday. The cool thing with them is it's not a subscription, I can buy however many meals I want, if I want to save some money, I can but 10 meals which makes each meal only $7.70 each. If I had a garage fridge you better bet I would take advantage of the 21+ meals for $6.85 a meal! I'm super excited I found this place and how affordable it is compared to factor and other similar services, not to mention how yummy the food has been so far! The pizzas they have there are AMAZING! If they have the Taco pizza make sure to grab one, or the buffalo chicken one. You can eat the whole thing and it fits within my macros! Also, hot tip, The taco pizza is especially amazing dipped in a bit of plain green yogurt and ortega taco sauce! It is honestly one of my current favorite meals, it also feels like a cheat meal, except it isn't! I had a new smoothie today and it was amazing, ask for a starberries and cream smoothie! What a TREAT!!!! I might just have to go back tomorrow and get another one when I pick up my meals for the week! The owner is very very nice and all of the people who work there are great. They always recognize me when I come in now, which is such a nice touch! This place is a no brainer if you are a busy person like me who wants to eat healthy! The only thing I haven't tried yet is a meal from their menu for dine in, but I plan to do that soon with some friends with Orange Theory after class :)

I am a girl that likes to eat healthy so I was excited to see this store. My daughter had taken me…read moreto a similar build a bowl type place in Florida which was amazing and I had hoped to find the same experience here. Not so much. I tried the large bowl with brown rice, broccoli, carrots and zucchini, with teriyaki sauce. There was no flavor and the chicken was dry like dust. Diced chicken might be dry, but usually there is flavor or something to give a dish taste and texture. I tried half with the teriyaki sauce and it was flavorless and still dry. The sauce had no flavor even though it had at least 13 grams of sugar according to the nutrition guide. Also there was no zucchini and the portion of veggies seemed pretty small. I wound up adding a little oil to a pan, more veggies and other spices (and did not use the sauce) so that I could eat the rest. Since the name is " clean" Eatz I looked at the nutrition guide to see that there are 300-400 ounces of sodium per 4 ounce portion compared to natural chicken that has this much per 16 ounces of chicken. There should be no sugar in natural chicken but there is 2 g in the 4 ounce portion. Since I had the large, I had more than that but since there was no flavor on the chicken that makes me wonder how this chicken is prepared and its source. Maybe some of the other bowl combinations are better, but I was very disappointed with my experience. I had already purchased some of the frozen meals so I will try those at some point. Also my meal was about $18 with tax which was not worth what I had.
