A few companies responded. One company was booked until September while another company declined. A third company was able to show up the same day to measure and provide an estimate. MacVane Electrical was the fourth company to reply but was the quickest to provide an estimate after I texted pictures of the circuit boxes as well as an approximate distance. I was hesitant due to lack of online reviews. Phil (Sr.) quickly responded in the same evening with an estimate as well as a commitment to show up the next day to do the work. Phil (Jr) arrived the next day (Tuesday) as promised along with Ray, and both got the work done in about 2 hours. Both are super nice guys. Turns out Phil and his father started the company just 6 months ago, hence there are few to no reviews online. They are friendly, clean, and thoroughly explained the work that needed to be done. Phil Jr was so thorough that after he finished and left, he called the sauna company to verify the type of plug the sauna required. He then came back an hour or so later to replace the receptacle to the correct type. And even though it wasn't originally scheduled, they also ended up doing some other electrical upgrades at our request, which included installing several outlets, some rewiring, some updating, and gave us the option of using existing wires, openings or equipment, or using new. The fact that most of that stuff was added on onsite, and we were able to get a speedy and fair quote and approval was fantastic. The whole team is incredibly respectful, friendly, hardworking, and trustworthy and reliable. Communication was handled in the ways we felt most comfortable, and we never felt like anyone was overstepping or leaving us "in the dark". The work done was absolutely neat, organized, intuitive, and looks better than most of the existing work. This is NOT a company I would want to deal with to install or service a generator. We were concerned as we watched the technician and asked him how long he'd been with Flynn-Aire. He answered 8 months. ( for this level of expertise we paid $350) After a cursory check on our system the technician said everything was fine, and he left. Two hours later we went upstairs where to our horror water was dripping from the unit in our attic along the ceiling, onto our carpeting and into our chandelier. After two phone calls Flynn-Aire dispatched a second technician who glued the pipe that had been damaged by technician #1 and told us we would be contacted by Flynn since they had "a Sheetrock Guy" who could repair the damage. And then - crickets. No call from Flynn-Aire. Today is August 7, we have repeatedly called to speak to the owner, Bob Von Hagen, but he obviously has "Colleen" running interference and we have not heard from him. During the crazy storm in August of 2020, many people in our town couldn't reach Cannondale to fix their generators.
