My husband and I were…read moreinitially recommended to Optimum Electrical Services through positive referrals I found within a local, online community group (Suffolk County - Smithtown area). Needless to say, we are ecstatic to have connected with him because it's always great to have a local electrician nearby that can be trusted to provide great services AND who is available to work within a reasonable timeline! Having already met with a bunch of other electricians (whose estimates were unreasonable, whose schedules weren't actually "open," or who simply never responded to us when we reached out or followed up), we found Jason to be a "cut above the rest!". Jason has always greeted us with friendliness and great professionalism. He is a focused worker who also shows patience with inquisitive customers (like me!) I have oftentimes spoken to him while he has been working; he never makes us feel like we are "interrupting;" he openly explains the different aspects of the labor involved with the job and is able to chat and work simultaneously while still being extremely productive! We have welcomed him into our home on several occasions. On his first visit, he installed wiring and mounts for two large (65" and 75") televisions, including the installation of new quad outlets to accommodate the (future) addition of a soundbar. Most recently, he helped us to "say goodbye" to some old, ugly ceiling mounted light fixtures and installed new, wifi-enabled ceiling fans in their place(s). We absolutely love that Jason, since he lives locally, has been available to help us with our projects: within days of our initial call! Lastly, because Jason is fully licensed, he willingly to provided me with a copy of his license as well as a copy of his proof of insurance ("Certificate of Insurance") when I asked for this information. The fact that Jason shared this information so willingly (and without any awkward hesitation) gave us great peace of mind as new homeowners. We wholeheartedly recommend Jason; he truly is an amazing person who offers fair, reasonable prices for his labor and expertise. Additionally, he has always been respectful of our home and cleans up after he works. He even offers to take off his shoes and/or brings "booties" to ensure that people's homes are respected! At the end of each service, he provides the customer with an itemized "paid" receipt, which is sent to the email of your choice! Last week after arriving home with groceries my husband went to flip on the high hat light switch…read morewhile I had my back to him and I heard this long crackling sound at the same time that I saw a flash. I quickly turned around and my husband was going to the breaker box and not saying a word so I knew he was in ‍ mode. I quickly grabbed the fire extinguisher in case there was any wires burning behind the wall. Thankfully from what we could tell there was not. But we are not electricians. My husband called a service we have that contacts area electricians for you and one called back, said all was good just not to use any of the other lights on that switch and he would see use the following Thursday as in a whole week. I could not believe when my husband told me later on that was what was going down. My exact words were oh hell no. I got on with the company we use explained what happened and they said hold on. That's where Mike comes in. He immediately got off the Wantagh Pkwy and came to our home in Levittown. He made sure all the mains were off then showed us that we still had a live wire cooking away in there. Most likely nothing would have happened because we weren't going to mess with it but you never know. Plus we have old fashioned fixtures in our home so Mike updated us into the 21st Century with some nice looking 3way lighting fixture. He is a somewhat quiet but truly down to earth guy with a lot of patients and family values. He was here for about 45 minutes and cleaned up after himself including I am sure the dust that was on my table. If you are looking for an honest, hard worker, who knows his stuff look no further.

We recently asked him to come and fix our lights on front yard and driveway which has not worked properly for the past 20 years. Al took his time to figure out the problem and fixed our lights. We are very happy with his work. He is professional courteous and takes care. We used other people in the pst for the same issue and lost money. As long as he can help us - he will be our electrician.
