Rated this based off picking up a large Queen Emma Cake from Ono Bakehouse. On the system, the person who took my order placed it for 3pm rather than 8am, the time I opted for. When I got there at 8am, I found out and I was worried as I had class right after. However, the baker assured me that it was fine and he would get the cake ready-- just give him some time. I'd tell you, not all heroes wear capes, some wear aprons. He gave us a place to sit down and we waited for a bit. After 15 minutes, we got our cake with some great tips about caring for it as it was technically not ready yet. Overall, thank you for the amazing experience!

    HALO AT ME
    Tommy P.

Came here for a birthday and the ambiance, food, and drinks were all top tier. The owners and workers were "family" - They made their rounds and checked in on us while we were celebrating a birthday here. Made us feel welcomed. The bar is a stone's throw from the Bart Station - The setup is pretty cool. It's out of place for that part of Oakland, but in a GOOD way. The food and drinks were FIRE - I had the "HALO AT ME", THREE TIMES. This drink had Ube infused Vodka and was delicious, but potent. Their Bò Kho Egg rolls were the BEST egg rolls I've ever had... and I'm Vietnamese through and through. Overall, solid place. Definitely coming back soon.

    Passion fruit margarita

Did you even know this place existed? I didn't, but I'm so glad I've made the discovery! It's definitely a hidden gem. It's literally located right next to the Fruitvale Bart parking lot, and the amount of times I've drove by not knowing it existed.... It's adorable. The tables are covered in bright and colorful floral wraps. I love it; it makes the tables easier to sanitize. There's plenty of heat lamps, shade, and lots of foliage! It's vibrant, fun, and so lively with the DJ playing! I stopped by on a Thursday after work for a quick lil dinner. From Noodle Bar, I got the Noodle Belly Combo with lomo saltado and grilled broccolini. THE NOODLES WERE SO DREAMY and outshined it all. I LOVE broccolini but in this instance I could have cared less. I didn't love the lomo saltado, but I enjoyed it. I can't get enough of those noodles....next time I'll have to purchase a take home kit. From the bar I got a passion fruit margarita and it was tasty! I would have had another had I not drove. I can't wait to come back and try other vendors! Definitely a hidden gem in Oakland.

This place is so welcoming! The decor, the people, and food and drinks were so comforting! Everyone was so inviting upon arrival which is a great sign! I tried almost everything on the menu and all of the dishes are a hit!! The drinks are beautifully crafted, my favorite had to be the AAPI Americano as well as the Halo at me. You have to go to try it yourself, overall I can say I had a good experience! Good people = a good time!!

A really cool outdoor spot for food and drinks! It was hard to find at night at first.. we had to do a couple circles around the area to find it. Ended up parking on the free level of the bart station and walked over. The space is really welcoming and has heaters and tvs as well. You order your food up front and they serve it out to you. We tried out the lumpia, rice paper pizza, arroz caldo, and pork belly fries for food. Everything was really good and shareable! Drinks wise had the "halo at me" ube drink and toki highball. Wasn't too much of a fan of the highball, but the ube drink was sooooo good. I will order this drink everytime I go here now!

    BTS Cup Sleeve Event

This is a cool pop-up venue! I went for a BTS cup sleeve event. They had a bunch of vendors in the first courtyard, both goods and food vendors. Further inside they have a covered patio area to hang out, and a bar built out of I think an old container compartment maybe? They have creative drinks and the bartenders are super cool and friendly. Noodle Belly is a regular food vendor (maybe in-house?) other than the other pop-up food vendors they host. They seem to regularly host BTS fan events so I'll be back. Easy parking in the BART parking lot is a big upside.

    The yummy pickles

I enjoy spending my night out with friends doing spontaneous things like eating strawberry ice cream when it's below 20 degree Celsius or camping out in the desert when it's above 105 degree Fahrenheit. Whatever it is, we always enjoy each other's company. On a random Saturday night, we decided to roam around Oakland and stir up some trouble. Our festivity includes eating, drinking, and more drinking. We came across this bar. Wow! Great music and great vibes. Their drinks are beyond my expectation. My favorites are the pickles & pineapple that came with the Michelada. So spicy & tangy! I wish I was sober enough to eat some of their food because the super crunchy tacos look lit af! I truly believe in helping our local business thrive by giving my honest opinion on the experience. My opinions are based on an average guideline according to taste, smell, presentation, and quality. Along with that, I include cleanliness and friendliness as a bonus. The people here are truly sincere and I admire that quality. Like Wiz Khalifa said, "These are my n***** for real for realz." The staff here had a sense of great style of dress and some even had cool tattoos. I kinda want some to be honest. Next time I come back, I will dress much better to fit in.

Korner's an awesome collection of pop-ups conveniently located next to BART. It's a really chill, hip, and inclusive vibe. There are multiple food vendors so we were able to satisfy all our cravings. :) Will definitely be hosting future parties and gatherings at Korner.

    Ube cocktail
    Jude D.

You have got to try the ube cocktail here! It is so delicious I drank it a little too fast. There is also a rotation of Filipino fusion cooks through the kitchen so the menu is rotating and always delicious.

Great food and drinks! The staff is really nice and service is good. There are televisions to watch sports games and lots of tables. The bar has a lot of drink options that are very yummy! We ordered and shared the Noodle and Belly Combo and the Boiled Crawfish with sausage and potatoes. The sauce that came with the crawfish was hot but super yummy. The ambiance is fun, and there are a lot of regulars there. The place has a bar, but families are ok to come and enjoy games on the tv. I would recommend this to anyone for dinner, drinks, or sports games.

China white, noodle belly, noodles, lomo saltado, braised greens
    Lilliana P.

My first experience here was pretty great. I just got off of fruitvale Bart and wanted something to eat and a good cocktail but didn't want to have to go into the city after my long flight. I walked passed Korner and heard some guys raving about the cocktails and park Nelly noodles and that got me excited! So at that moment I decided to walk in! The entrance is hard to find but it's just around the "Korner"! Dan at the bar was pleasant and his cocktails were even better! Asian/Latinx fusion cocktails to pair with the Peruvian/Asian food! Noodle Belly food was absolutely a treasure! I wasn't expecting to find great food at a bar next to Bart! Things I had: *Tamarind Margarita (do I need to say more?!) *China White ( lemon grass, Mirin, coriander, roku gin and lemon) if you like gimlets this is the drink for you! *Tuna's cocktail by Fred Acebo (tequila, mezcal, pickle juice (BUY THE PICKLES TRUST ME!) pineapple, lime) so we'll balanced and spicy if you're into the tropic cocktails this one's a hit! *Roku Pocky Puck!!! (ROKU gin, lychee, egg white, cream, pineapple, lemon soda water, topped with freeze dried strawberries and strawberry pocky!!) if you like flare and watching your bartender sweat this is the one for you! FOOOD! ** I ordered the combo plate! Noodle belly noodles with Lomo Saltado and braised greens!!! SOOOOOOO AMAZING!! Like wowwww Below are pictures lol

What a hidden gem! I almost don't want to post this because it's a small venue but what exceptional service. This is a converted box car bar, in the parking lot of a commissary kitchen. They highlight different food companies at the kitchen with friendly faces and a homey vibe. The outside doesn't do it justice and it's about to pop off. Great drinks and smiles all around. Get there before it blows up.... Absolutely going there again!

    Outdoor patio
    Carol L.

My husband & I brought our kids here, but I think we'd enjoy it here without them too. We were here for a daytime minions-themed party, which had a small entry-fee for face-painting, crafts & games. The outdoor vibes were amazing, staff super-friendly, and we got the garlic noodles w/ pork belly & broccolini, agua Fresca and ube cocktail. Our kids liked the noodles too. The space and decor is colorful, fun and unpretentious. Def reco this new gem. We'll be back!

Of course me and the bestie had to grab brunch before we headed home. Was a bit thrown off when booking via OpenTable as it comes up as Haus of Chefs, but when I got the concept of hosting local chefs and rotating menus all was smooth. We got a few shareables and entrees and everything was so good. S/o to tik tok for putting us on to some amazing food. We ordered the boudin balls, crab stuffed shrimp, peach cobbler waffle, and catfish/ grits. For drinks, we had the brown sugar mint julep and madame butterfly. My fav items had to be the boudin balls, catfish / grits, and brown sugar mint julep. Presentation was so cute. Add a flower or herb to my drink or plate and I'm yours. Everything was so flavorful, paired nicely together , and wasn't too much. Portion sizes were on point and no need for condiments because sis seasoned the hell out that food! The ambiance is definitely brunch vibes. You can tell it's a local favorite as people were so chill about coming in and just enjoying their meal. Seating includes table and bar seating but no matter your area the service was on point almost little to no waiting and everything was freshly served ! Did I mention they had the jams in rotation. Again, who was on the aux because I need the playlist?! Prices for menu items were reasonable and worth it. I had a little moment when I realized the chef herself served us our plates and checked into see how everything was going. Like come on how cool was that! Overall, great experience and yes I'll be back for a dozen boudin balls. Big S/o to our servers/ bartenders Ashlee and Kia for the hospitality and customer service. Keep up the good work! If you in the Oakland neighborhood stop by and try!

I'm giving the lodge a four star for my dining experience and an enjoyable evening. My husband has been here more than a few times to play games of pool with our friendly neighbor and one of his friends. I have been here before for another event almost three years ago. The interior is beautiful, but the walls are thin. One can actually hear people talking in the next room. Our meeting place was the Mahogany Room for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. I did not want to stuff myself with the appetizers and not have enough room in my stomach for the main entree - crab. Nor did I want any libation before the meal. After the cocktail hour, we were escorted to the Rathskeller (basement of the lodge) where the dinner was held. The gentlemen on the waitstaff were lined up in an orderly manner, serving us whatever we desired - be it the bowtie/penne pasta, dinner rolls/garlic bread, coffee, dessert. Presentation of the crab, the wines (red and white), Caesar salad and the antipasti plates was excellent...casual, yet classy. Dessert was a serving of raspberry sorbet. The only minor drawback was the bowtie/penne pasta served on the same plate as the salad plate. Even though I did not win any of the door prizes after making a donation of $20 for 20 raffle tickets, they had some nice ones, such as the $100 gift card from Scott's Seafood, $100 gift card for Yoshi's dinner and show, $50 gift cards from La Penca Azul, C'era Una Volta, 1400 Bar and Grill, Jim's Coffee Shop, Pier 29. From what I heard, the lodge raised about $1,500 in raffle ticket sales. I also have to give kudos to the waitstaff, many of whom were very tolerable and patient with this woman who sat at the next table behind my husband. She was in the wine (whine) mode. "I want penne pasta. I don't want this dinner roll with butter. I want some garlic bread. Don't you guys have any garlic bread?" On and on she went...egads...she had a sense of entitlement. Yes, there were two bottles of wine at each table, but her incessant whining almost had me do a "face palm" on her. Ooh, I wanted to offer her a piece of cheese, which would have complemented a glass of wine very well. (Now, quit your whining, lady...lol.)
