Super cute and cozy Korean spot. The food was delicious, my veggie gyoza tray was great. I only wish they had way more vegetarian options. It literally feels like a Korean supermarket, you can buy ice cream, kimchi, literally anything Korean food or snack- they probably have it here. Next time, I'm going to try the silken tofu stew.

While I stay in the city, i found myself out by Berkeley with time to kill and a belly rumblin (key plot point), my day had been great and I was not trying to end it with a mediocre meal, so as I walked up, that stomach feeling got a little worse However upon entering and passing by the little corridor to the back, all my worries dissipated. The interior is calm with great use of wood colours, the outdoor patio is brilliantly shaded by trees, providing a little secret treehouse vibe like in Pokemon ruby. Outside was pretty popping though so I sat inside and ordered the bulgogi comfort stew. This thing was stuffed to the brim. From the description it's easy to feel like it's going to be a pretty boring dish, but it was far from. The broth was definitely comforting, I didn't care about anything after the first taste. There were different varieties of mushrooms inside providing adequate texture variation and the beef portion was generous! Usually I find myself hoarding meat in these stews to make sure I get good bites but the dish deceptively had a great amount such that I could eat a solo meat bite and still have enough! The banchan was also very flavourful. I ended up stuffed in this little hideaway, surrounded by the supermarket portion of this establishment and the calming hiphop lofi, if I was heading straight back home I would have grabbed a few things. It was hard to fault this place. Throw back to my stomach rumbling, before I left I used the restroom in the front and unfortunately the cosy hideaway, clean aesthetic seems to end at the little corridor. The bathroom was not dirty but it was not as clean as expected. Service was great and the food tasted amazing, I'd definitely come back to try other dishes

I recently stopped by Korean Superette and really enjoyed my meal. I ordered the Yangnyeom Chicken Plate, and it was excellent--crispy chicken coated in a savory, flavorful sauce with just the right amount of heat. Not overly spicy, just well-balanced and delicious. The plate came with rice, broccoli, and a selection of traditional banchan, which rounded out the meal nicely. I also ordered a glass of Chardonnay and was pleasantly surprised by the generous pour. Bonus points for that! I chose to sit on the back patio, which is absolutely delightful and made for a relaxed, enjoyable dining experience. Between the tasty food, pleasant atmosphere, and friendly service, this is definitely a place I'll be returning to. Highly recommended.

Food is amazing! Absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and the bonchon is the perfect pairing! The yuzu tea was super refreshing. Service was slow, but we didn't mind waiting. The care they put into the food was apparent and greatly appreciated! The dining areas (inside and outside) are both cute. Patio is well maintained with lots of greenery. Inside also doubles as a small market with Korean snacks, packaged noodles, kimchi and other refrigerated foods, and some homewares.

Pretty decent korean food! We ate at their outdoor patio area. Food was good and the outdoor seating are was very cute. Their menu isn't very extensive since they're a market too, but their bossam was very good and they have solid classics. Very good lunch spot!

Adorable Korean restaurant in Berkeley's Northside! Korean Suprette is a restaurant that also serves as a mini supermarket - selling Asian snacks. It's on Solano Avenue so it's in an area with a lot of other food spots. They have great friendly service that made us feel welcomed when we entered the store. We got their Spicy Pork Belly Rice Bowl, Beef Tofu Soup, Rose Tteokbokki, and Spicy Cold Noodles. I personally liked the rice bowl and the tofu soup the best! They both had a nice comforting vibe to each dish that I really liked. Their cold noodles and rose tteokbokki were not bad either, but I personally didn't find them to be too memorable. They have a cute patio in the back that we didn't get to sit at, but I heard is very cute. I'd love to come back to try their lunch sets as well! Overall, solid Korean restaurant - definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a Korean spot in Berkeley!

Honestly this place took me by surprise! Upon first entering, it was an interesting concept where there were shelves stocked up with a bunch of korean snacks & banchan available for sale. Additionally, there were tables indoor and outdoor. It was very casual & honestly, didn't seem like there were many asian patrons, so I was a bit skeptical on how good the food could be. Between a party of 3, we shared the bossam, rose tteokbokki, and mul naengmyun, which was actually the perfect amount of food. All three dishes were absolutely delicious and exceeded expectations! Even all of the banchan dishes tasted like a lot of love and care was put into them. I liked that the garlic that came with the bossam was pickled and not raw... and the fact that the bossam came soaked in pork broth/juice, because that helped the meat stay warm and juicy throughout the meal. Overall, this was a great spot and I will DEFINITELY be coming back!

Interesting experience.. this place doubles up as a restaurant and mini market. It was kinda weird dining in the center of the room where you're surrounded by fridges, snacks, etc. Feels too awkward to really walk around and browse because you'd be in somebody's personal space while they eat. Definitely too awkward to take pics of the snacks too. Outside of that.. the food here was really good. I ordered their bulgogi comfort stew and it got me sweating. The presentation was good and it was spicier than expected. The constant steam from the bowl made my eyes water all night. So yeah.. I suffered through it but still enjoyed the food. Overall I'd say this place is pretty worth it.

I've been wanting to check out this place for a bit. Was a bit confused walking in but their dining area was on the inside down the hall and then there's also a cute outside area, but the weather was too cold for me to sit outside. We ordered the Rose Rice Cakes and the Bossam. Rose Rice Cakes (7/10): the rice cakes weren't as soft as I'd like and were a bit stiff, the sauce was great through and they were very generous with the amount of rice cakes and fish cakes. Bossam (8/10): Super soft and tender pork sliced with very good flavor. They gave us refills of lettuce, samjang, and kimchi too when we ran out. One thing that stood out was how delicious their side dishes were. I would be willing to buy their side dishes alone, especially the mushroom and cucumber ones. Overall, food was good and service was very attentive, would recommend!

Cute place with dining tables surrounded by Korean market items and cozy outdoor patio. Nice spice for most dishes. The rose tteokbokki and bulgogi comfort bowl were standouts.

estaurant and Korean mini-mart that has a wide variety of Korean fusion foods. Recommend their Jang Pasta, but they also have an amazing lunch special. Portions are rather large, so one dish could possibly be good for two people. They have both an outdoor and indoor space and the restaurant gets quite crowded around 6 PM, so watch out for that! Service is fast and they do a good job refilling the banchan!

My son and I entered Korean Superette with excitement and left with bellies full of joy. The ambiance is amazing (sit outdoors if you can!) and the food was authentically delicious!

Ordered a variety of dishes from Korean Superette to try, and unfortunately none of them impressed us. We ordered the bossam, black bean stew, shrimp pasta, cold noodles, and bulgogi mixed rice--none of the dishes stood out, and the ingredients felt more fusion-inspired than Korean comfort food, especially considering the higher price point. We also tried a few premade dishes from the market side, including the eggplant side dish and japchae, and both were poorly seasoned. I'd also skip the iced matcha latte, it was overly sweet, artificial matcha flavored (not real tea), and the staff told us it was not ceremonial-grade matcha. Service was disappointing as well. Our large table was charged a mandatory 20% gratuity, which would have been easier to accept if the service matched it. While one server was kind and attentive, the apparent lead staff member was impatient and gave noticeable attitude. Overall: fast-casual Korean food at premium prices, with underwhelming food quality and mediocre service.

There's also not much room to wait inside, although they do have a bench or two where you can sit while your sandwich is being prepared. In my experience, the wait is usually around 15 minutes. I've honestly never been here when it wasn't busy, so expect a crowd. But once you take that first bite, you'll understand why. Great food, great atmosphere, and great customer service. I had to come here twice back to back on different days to try another option on the menu. What I loved about it is the portions are huge and you could definitely feed 2 people, although prices are quite steep for the sandwiches. Sichuan Hot Chicken 5/5 This is as equally as good with Hot Boyz. So flavorful, nicely seasoned, juicy, crispy and tender. The sesame bun is an awesome take and elevated the hot chicken sandwich even more. It's not as heavily spiced as hot boyz so my stomach acid wasn't acting up right after which is a big plus. It's very well balanced. I would say maybe a touch more on sauce but other than that I loved it. Sisig Bolillo 5/5 Wow another great option! This was so good. Literally a filipino breakfast in one bite. Very flavorful, well seasoned, tender, rich, and with a touch of lime it helped cut through the fat and heaviness. I would've wished for more lime since 1 tiny slice wasn't enough or vinegar like sauce on the side. But i thoroughly enjoyed this sandwich. Bread was warm and crunchy but super soft and fluffy on the inside. Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap 2.5/5 My least favorite and I think they took it off the menu. What I didn't like about it was that the chicken wasn't seasoned enough or it lacked flavor. The dressing wasn't enough either because I didn't taste it at all. I did take a bite of this right away after a few bites of the chicken sandwich because I was worried about losing the texture of the croutons but it was already soft and mushy. Service & Ambience It's minimal. I ordered and waited for pick up. Staff is friendly. It's a sandwich shop so it's a to go spot with minimal dining spaces. I ended up ordering the House Turkey Breast without red onions, and was impressed with the quality and flavor of the sandwich. I liked the inclusion of both the alfalfa and avocado. We found it very tasty, but paying over $25 for this on DoorDash--certainly not worth the price even though we really enjoyed it. The spicy chicken parm sandwiches were not good. The chicken breast was flabby, and came across like it was one of those frozen cooked Tyson jobs. I would be very surprised if they actually breaded chicken breast, fried it, and made the sandwich with that. It was mushy, and the breading was like paste on the chicken. Pretty awful. They charge extra for sauce, which is a little much, given that we paid $21 for each sandwich. But we figured out pretty quickly why they do this: there was hardly any sauce on the sandwiches. And precious little cheese. We each ate half of our sandwich and figured we doctor the leftovers up the next day with a jar of Rao's and a bag of shredded Italian cheese. That helped, but nothing could save that chicken. The meatballs. We paid $15 for four, and we had high hopes, but they were so mushy that they fell apart in the sauce, and I couldn't tell what was sauce and what was meatballs. The only flavor that came across was fennel. Why any meatball should be so fennel-forward strikes me as bizarre. We got what we thought were pretty basic things, and they were fails. If an Italian place can't make a decent chicken parm sandwich nor a decent meatball, that says something. If you go, try the pinsa.

Sometimes it's good to try something different and a place with some interesting character and characters. I usually get deli sandwiches which have deli meats but this place has fried chicken sandwiches . So I was craving a sandwich so I headed to Crave Subs in Downtown Berkeley next to BART station. They have lots of sandwiches available on the menu. On a Summer stroll getting some sun in Downtown Berkeley I landed at Crave Subs. Inside it's like you stepped into an ice cream parlor with a comic book shop and arcade and a deli all at the same time. You will see sandwiches on the menu called the Pikachu, Ned Flanders, and Bart Simpson. You will see Chewbacca fries along with the Spider-Man fries and the vegan Sailormoon fries. I got the Captain Boom Halal Fried Chicken, Boom Boom Sauce, Cheddar Cheese and Crave Sauce on a roll. It was tasty and a bit crunchy and had lots of flavor. It's one of the best Halal chicken sandwiches I had. If you crave a fried chicken sandwich then Crave Subs is the spot. It will "cost "you an extra 50 cents if you want to "floss" with extra drip "sauce" to show off on social media and during OSL my social media feed was stuck in the" Land of OZ" If you want great fried chicken sandwich you don't need to visit KFC or meet the chicken"commanders" like the late "Colonel Sanders" just get a Captain Boom with "Halal chicken standards" or grab a Pikachu sandwich or a turkey sandwich called the "Ned Flanders "

One of my biggest pet peeves is when restaurants reduce the guality or quantity of their meal to cut costs while charging premium prices. I will say I didn't mind paying a few dollars more for their subs in the past. I went there today for the first time in a couple of years, ordered a regular size basic ruben sandwich (no add-ons) and was ok paying nearly $18 dollars for just the sandwich until they handed it to me. what I got was a small 6" sub. When did their subs shrink?? in this economy we are all struggling. I get it, things cost more but Craves' owner is not doing his patrons a service by charging them premiums while cutting back on the meals. If you're ok paying that much for a shrunken sub, more power to you. I l, however, will not be going back there.
