So I'm trying to book tix for my return to the motherland and the hub suggests trying a korean travel agency as they may have discounted fares. So I googled and called the first place on the list of korean travel agencies. A gentleman answers who speaks accented but pretty decent English. Little brusque but that's my people for you. Takes down my info and says ok I will make reservation for you. I was like oh okay can you email me the itinerary? He says I don't have email. Hmmm that's odd, I won't have any electronic proof of my itinerary? Sounds sketch but whatev. So then he calls me back w itinerary and I ask him for seat selection and to input my United miles member number. He says I'll hafta check and call you back. Meanwhile I check online and the fare online for the same flight is 20$ cheaper so I book online where I can get proof of payment and an itinerary. I called him to cancel and he was totally fine w it.
I mean nothing bad happened. I just wish that business owners would get it together and provide the level of service I know my peeps can. Have u ever been on korean airlines? The service is awesome! Isnt an emailed itinerary just basic for a travel agency? Could he answer the phone "hello korea travel services" (in korean of course) not "neh" which is korean for yes? I guess I could've gone in person but is that really necessary in this day and age? read more
