Traveling to China from Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. My friend, Edwina, told me about the Narcissus Queen Tour. This year (2024), the tour was going to the Queen's hometown of Yunan. They were also going to visit Dali, LiJiang, XiZhou, and ZhongShan. I haven't been to these cities, so I wanted to go! Luckily, my friend, Irene, agreed to be my roommate! We went to their office in Chinatown Honolulu to meet with the travel agents at Skyway Express. They processed our paperwork for Visas, gave us itineraries, and even hosted a welcome/orientation luncheon for everyone to meet! The process was quite smooth, even with the refund for our flight since we added on a few days extra in Hong Kong before and after China. We paid for our flights on Expedia which turned out to save us some money! Skyway Express booked the five hotels, land tours, bullet train ride between KunMing and Dali, and flight between LiJiang and GuangZhou! The package included all admission fees to various museums and theaters, air-conditioned buses, most meals, tips for the drivers and tour guides, and unlimited bottled water! We're looking forward to the next Narcissus Queen's Tour!

I read Yelp reviews and heard about this business and how well Simon was in helping with going through the process. He sent me an email stating what was needed. We gathered all the info and went down to Skyway Express (located by Singsing Restaurant). Simon filled all our Visa forms, collected our passports and called us if the consulate needed additional information. It took a little over a month to get back our passports with our China Visa. Definitely recommend this business. Total cost was $350 each person ($140 for the visa and the rest for their services) - money well spent instead of us having to fly to California and stay or fly back there when the passports were ready.

Tomomi S, was our super tour guide and definitely made the tour enjoyable and entertaining. She skillfully shepherded us tourist sheep through our destinations on Okinawa island and it's neighboring islands. Tour participants vary, but our particular group was great. Everyone was sociable, courteous, followed instructions and showed up at designated meeting points on time - a fun group. We will definitely consider N & K Travel for a future tour.

We had a very last minute trip to Japan and wanted to purchase rail tickets after consulting with the travel agent who did not pressure us to purchase anything but gave us real examples and weigh the pros and cons. We ended up not purchasing the rail tickets based on their recommendation with the timelines and where we were going. Loved their honesty and advise and appreciate it very much.

Air Asia was cheap for a reason, it ran and operated like a cheap scam, and now that I have an opportunity to go back to Japan next year, I needed plane fare. The thought of Air Asia makes me cringe and shudder in disgust at the thought. Anyhoo... My travel companion insists on flying only on JAL so my choices were limited. I did some research on Cheap Tickets, Travelocity and Expedia, but Kintetsu got us the best price. For example: Cheap Tickets $830 round trip, Travelocity $796 but on different airlines (Scoot - hell no, Delta - ugh), and exact same price on Expedia $796 for JAL. Kintetsu got us multi-city tickets for $770 on JAL exclusively, and at the time we wanted to fly! YAY Kintetsu! WTG! Call ahead to reserve your plane ticket and make sure you take your passport with you. They have some nice maps and travel guides to Japan for free. I scooped some up. I know, I know, who needs a map when you have the internet? But sometimes a good, old-fashioned map comes in super handy when you are walking around Japan and Google Maps decides to point you in the wrong direction with that SUPER ANNOYING compass!!! I hate Google Maps. When we left to get into the elevator, our ticket agent walked us to the elevator and bowed to us. I felt like I was in Japan all over again! Parking is validated 1.5 hours in the Waikiki Business Plaza.

Royal Adventure's pricing for roundtrip tickets to France were half of what my credit card's travel agency wanted to charge.

Aloha, A-Team!…read more Driver sent out a group text the night before the tour of all hotel pick-up locations and times, tight schedule for pickups to ensure we were ahead of the crowds. This meant better picture-taking at sights. I appreciated not being stuck with all the other tours (larger buses). It was a van and our group was 8 people total. We were visiting from California, but we had others from New York, Canada, and Australia! The air-conditioning was struggling a tiny bit but still tolerable and much better than the humidity outside. We were supposed to have Captain Justin, but he was sick and we actually got the owner himself, Captain "Vincenzo" Vince! It's an all-day excursion. Included was pickup/dropoff from Waikiki, entrance to the Byodo-In Temple, but not the Botanical Garden/Waimea Waterfall , and lunch, other local treats along the way at your own expense. A great way to see many Oahu attractions in a single day, including North Shore. My favorite parts were the Leonard's Malasada, Byodo-In Temple, Waimea Garden/Falls, Dole Plantation, Mac Farm. So much history, and flora/fauna and food ops! Captain Vince was a fun character! He was enthusiastic every moment of the drive, even taking photos of pairs/whole group. So many facts and even personal stories, I learned a lot! When you're going to spend an entire day with a group, it helps that the drive is lively. Mahalo nui loa! Salamat po!

He gave a great tour talking about the history of the people and the land, highlighted certain spots, and was just all around great guy...except for one thing...he's a 40 Whiners fan. All good. I was able to retain certain spots and info he spoke about. I knew this because when we came back from our Norwegian cruise...some friends took us on the same route and I was actually letting them know about certain spots Justin spoke about! We had a schedule to stick to and he did a great job sticking to it and not getting all hurried or bothered if people were running behind a bit. I like how they used the smaller vans instead of tour busses. It makes for easier maneuvering and more personal for his bit.

You make lemonade out of lemons. In other words, encourage interest of all things Japan. You open an office/location in the busiest shopping mall in the state. Then you not only stock that store with wonderfully unique and specialized food items and other items from Japan. And don't forget to staff that store with incredibly friendly and approachable staff. Why only four stars? Well, I haven't actually tried any of their travel services, yet. I will reserve that last star until I do. Also, do wish they had more inventory to sell. If you do find something that you like and want to be advised when their next shipments of it will be arriving, be sure to get on their emailing list...which is the real reason I searched for this store. After receiving the most wonderful imported senbei for a Christmas gift I located the store to purchase more for gifts. Strategically they were all out of stock and I am now on their emailing list. Brilliant H.I.S... in getting one more person on the mailing list which also advertising travel to Japan! Love your newsletters. Because, I do love most things Japan!
