Since this service appears to be listed on their website, I simply asked whether they perform that type of work. The representative immediately told me "no." When I mentioned that their website suggests otherwise and asked if she could verify with someone, she placed me on hold and returned asking for my name, company, and whether I was a third party. I explained that before providing all of my information, I just wanted confirmation that Ranck actually performs the service. Instead of answering the question, she insisted the answer was contingent on those details. I asked whether those questions had any bearing on whether the company offers the service at all, and she again stated that the answer depended on who I was. As someone calling about what could have been a significant commercial project, I found the interaction frustrating and unwelcoming. A simple, "Let me check and confirm whether we offer that service," would have gone a long way. I ended up thanking her for her time and chose to not pursue the conversation any further the whole experience was just very distasteful.

The gentlemen that scheduled me over the phone was extremely professional. He was prompt in returning my phone call and listened to everything i needed to be done. When the day of the work arrived, I was returning from dropping off my daughter and came back to find the truck parked outside 10 minutes early. How is that for service? The electrician was a young guy, very soft spoken and professional. He listened to what I told him and didn't butt in with any "advice." He quietly went to work and when he found the problem, he gently pointed it out to me. He even taped up the boxes of the new items I had purchased to be installed so everything was nice and clean. Their labor rate is $45/hour which seems pretty standard and fair. I paid the electrician in cash and gave him a small tip. He thanked me and went on his way. That evening there was a message on my voicemail. It was Electech. The owner had called me and said I paid more than the bill was for and that he was sending me a check for the difference (the tip). Amazing. I don't think I have come across that kind of honesty in a very long time, and what a rarity in this line of work. (In case you were wondering, I told him to keep the tip.) BTW, they are in Lewisberry, which isn't all that close to Harrisburg but they come out to all parts of Harrisburg metro area.
